I appreciate Billy Yank’s comment on the civil war. I’m surprised it’s not referred to as the “war of Northern oppression,” a name that also reveals another re-writing of history.

Although there certainly were disagreements over tariffs, etc., but there is good dose of dis-ingenuousness in citing this as the cause of the civil war, and I see you’re not buying into this alternate history..

These re-writings always follow a certain prescription, in which a particular desired truth is invented and facts are distorted to support the thesis. I can’t help but notice the offerings by Regnery on my book club. A recent book by D’Souza exemplifies this re-writing formula. His thesis — that liberals caused 9/11, is supported with a rather dubious collection of “facts.” As always, the facts are unimportant, it’s only the conclusion that matters. And D’Souza’s conclusion echoes a reality that they’d like-to-be true, which is all that really matters.

Bushwhacken Clint Lacy Can’t Read

Clint Lacy claims that I am re-writing history, yet on his blog he now claims that the Civil War or War of the Rebellion was a Communist Revolution. He links that fact that Karl Marx wrote President Lincoln as proof that Lincoln wanted to socialize the United States. I am no Lincoln scholar, but I think it is safe to say that no where in Lincoln’s speeches or writings is there any pretense to creating as socialistic society in America.

In one quote from Lacy’s article he states the followng…

Even fellow Marxist Karl Marx stated that…

“The war between the North and the South is a tariff war. The war is further, not for any principle, does not touch the question of slavery, and in fact turns on the Northern lust for sovereignty.”

The problem with this statement, and every neo-confederate makes this mistake, is that it is not Marx who is stating that the war is a tariff war. What Marx is doing is summerizing what the papers in London are saying about the American Civil War. Marx fully believes that the south started the war to protect and expand slavery. So if your reading the Bushwhacker’s site, do so with a grain of salt. He has an agenda and history be damned

You SPLC guys are great! You have bilked people out of their hard earned money with this fear mongering about how everyone is a hater and how racism is rampant everywhere. It’s a great scam. There’s a lot of money in keeping the idea that racism is omnipresent. Those liberal nutjobs will keep sending the checks in and you guys will live high on the hog! Where do i sign up? That Darby cat seems to be an opportunist with a sense of risky adventure thrown in.You’d think his nonsense wouldn’t fly but David Duke captured the majority of the white vote for governor of Louisiana.A coalition of blacks,women and sane people prevented him from victory.Duke likes the limelight.I heard him speak on tv not long ago where he quoted from the Protocols of the Elders of Zion without letting the viewers know his source for the quote.Darby seems to crave attention as well even if he has to become a fraud to getit.On the other hand if he’s sincere he must really not be as bright as he seems to pretend.At least that’s my take on the cat.

This article shows that America’s foundation planted in racism and ignorance continues to live, though many Americans are in denial. Darby duped Christians by simply saying he is now a Christian and what’s worse, they believed it. Fact is, none of them know God or Jesus or anything spiritual. They’re entrenched in hate and fear and without law, would be lawless. Without being checked, they’d run amok. God bless America? Why?
