Hate Radio’s ‘Political Cesspool’ To Shut Down

Citing his father’s illness and “strain on [his] marriage,” James Edwards (below, right), a prominent white nationalist and host of the hate radio program, “The Political Cesspool,” [1] sent out an E-mail [2] to supporters Wednesday with the 
subject heading “All Good Things Come To An End.” In it, Edwards announced that he would broadcast his final show on Friday after three years on the air and 865 broadcasts. In a seeming about face, Edwards’ shutdown notice came only 10 weeks after he syndicated [3] the program through Dixie Broadcasting [4]. Dixie Broadcasting is an Internet radio outfit run by Ray McBerry [5], the chairman of the Georgia chapter of the League of the South [6], which is a neo-Confederate, white supremacist group. The show was broadcast on the Internet and by WLRM-AM for two hours every weeknight from a studio near Memphis, Tenn., where Edwards grew up and still lives.
Since co-founding “The Political Cesspool” in 2005, Edwards [7] has become a golden boy in white nationalist circles and his show has served as the primary radio nexus of hate in America. Its sponsors included the white supremacist Council of Conservative Citizens (CCC) [8] and the Institute for Historical Review (IHR) [9], a leading Holocaust denial organization. And its guest roster for 2007 reads like a “Who’s Who” of the radical racist right, including such people as the leader of the CCC, Gordon Lee Baum [10]; Holocaust denier and IHR chief Mark Weber [11]; neo-Nazi activist April Gaede [12]; and anti-Semitic professor Kevin MacDonald [13]. The show’s most frequent celebrity racist guest is former Klan leader and neo-Nazi ideologue David Duke [14], who has logged three appearances.
Though he won’t be on the radio anymore, Edwards does not intend to give up his role as a self-described “European American activist,” promising his listeners he would continue to serve actively on the CCC’s board. He also thanked many of the extremists who had been on his show as well as several hate groups that sponsored it. “It’s been a thrill of a lifetime,” Edwards gushed, reminding his racist supporters that he hasn’t given up their cause. “Well, similar to the Great White, I’d die if I were not contributing to the survival of our race.”

That’s a real shame, he was reaching a lot of people for the movement. I’d bet he even had more listeners than that terrible left-wing Air-America.

Yeah, right–mostly among the ranks of the Great Unwashed all too likely to fall for racist and white-supremacist propaganda messages.
As in the poor, undereducated and easily-influenced, resident mostly in lower-income ZIP+4 areas.
And could we have the basis of this particular claim, e.g., Arbitron ratings numbers?

This is great news!!! Actually this is music to my ears to hear that he won’t be airing this cesspools any longer. I mean, who in their right mind would want to listen to that B.S???
“European American Activists”??? I figured this wing-nut is here in the country illegally as an alien from Europe, trying to implement Euro-trash idealogy into our American values and way of life. Despite the fact that he`ll continue to support their lost cause won’t do much for him. According to the 2006 Pew Hispanic Center Survey which was also displayed in the national evening news just the other day ago, that predicts Whites will likely be a minority group by 2050……
Your “cause” is lost, no matter how hard you try to remain a majority. Especially in the state of California & Arizona(despite its recently created Employer Sanctions Law) which has already shown dramatic increase in Hispanic population by 2 folds and there’s no turning back. You have no mantra. Although, I’m not Hispanic, but this “White Power” hype is getting old.

Tell me friend,when whites are no longer a majority what does that imply to you?Then we will be the major minority which suits we very well.Racialistic politics can fade into background and as the most numerous minority maybe we can laed the other minorities into a prolonged period of unity based on some other criteria than what color someone may be or that individuals ehnic background.If putting down one minority,alledgedly on behalf of some other will make you the rascist if the new world is one that sponsors racist attacks against any other,in combination or standing apart.In short,we will have traveled to where we stand now,a nation of minorities.No group os combination of groups has the right to attack another.That’s the law and will remain so except in the mind of aggressive racialists of one type or another.Racial demographics as they are or as they will be remain the same or you must elsewise be an advocate of special racial laws such as the Black code of the old South.Shame comes in many varieties you see.

I liked listening to Air America although it was run by incompetents. And I like listening to this guy. the real bigots with hidden agendas are the ones who want to shut these people up like you folks. David Duke or Cynthia McKinney or Ward Churchhill. Enemies to each other but they all put America first, Not Israel. Ever think they might have some good points? Or are you too plugged in to the Mainstream media?

What wonderful news! This racist is a black eye for the Memphis area, and I’m glad (but not surprised) to hear that this show was receiving so little support that it could no longer continue.

There are hate sites all across America.It’d be preferable if they ever learned that even though hate sells that hate divides us without any justifiable excuse.If the hate-mongers had anything to really say then they would not have to phrase their arguements with hate.ù

“Your cause is lost,” eh? Meaning all whites, of course. Here it is again, someone writing of whites in general, obviously because he/she is anti-white, but pretending they’re against only “White supremacists.”
There is a wealth of anti-white rhetoric throughout the country, but it’s never reported here. And the haters don’t care if you’re on the left or right. They hate ALL whites, so supporting leftist cause won’t help you one iota.

You very well know as well as I, that you can`t win in terms of “race”, that’s a travesty but religiously it cannot be forseen. Again that’s a separate topic. These ludicrious rantings by white extremists is dubious with insane befittings with the likes of Charles Manson. Well, you know who you are.
The radio`s cesspools is a nothing of the past, but merely forgotten like it was nothing important itself.

I haven’t heard “The Political Cesspool” but, from what you say, it might be going off the air for a good reason. Perhaps WDXB might have asked him to leave. I have been listening to Dixie Broadcasting (WDXB) for about five years and I’ve only heard one comment by a columnist that might have been “white supremacist”, which I called them on. WDXB is pro-south and conservative, but certainly not racist. Listen for a while and I think you’ll agree.
