Lawmaker Draws International Rebukes For ‘Illiterate Peasants’ Remark

Rep. Douglas Bruce drew audible gasps and was ordered to step down from the speaker’s podium after he criticized a bill concerning temporary visas for immigrant farm laborers by declaring that Colorado doesn’t need “5,000 more illiterate peasants.”
