Cops Arrest Boy, 17, for Alleged Church Arsons

Police arrested a 17-year-old boy Thursday morning for allegedly throwing small soda containers of gasoline into three West Jordan churches in an attempt to set them on fire. The alleged arsons occurred at an LDS church on 1300 West and Bora Bora Drive, and twice at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church at 7405 S. Redwood Road, said West Jordan Fire Department Assistant Chief Marc McElreath. The LDS church fire was reported May 31, the Catholic church fires were reported May 29 and Thursday.
