It’s over.

After a brief fling, the Libertarian Party has officially dumped its U.S. Senate candidate from Kentucky — former “Predator” movie star Sonny Landham — whose support of genocide against Arabs was apparently too much for the “party of principle.”

“When you are in a war, you kill everything that moves,” Landham said during a July 25 appearance on the “Weekly Filibuster” radio program. That was just the most egregious of a barrage of anti-Arab comments Landham made last month: He repeatedly referred to Arabs as “camel dung shovelers,” asserted that all Arabs are terrorists, and advocated a ban on Arab immigration to the United States.

Shortly before the Libertarian Party decided last week to drop Landham, party chairman Ken Moellman said that Libertarian officials were “very disappointed” by Landham’s remarks. “With the most recent comments, action was required,” Moellman told the political news website Politickerky.com. I thought our readers might be interested in the email I received from CAPS board member Stuart Hurlbert after I wrote to him, CAPS President Diana Hull, and CAPS board member Ben Zuckerman, seeking comment for my blog post “Lou Dobbs Citing Extremists, Again.” I asked them about the Pioneer Fund grant they received and about CAPS’ relationship with Wayne Lutton, the white supremacist mentioned in my blog post.

Diana,

My recommendation is that you not reply to Beirich. Her organization is not interested in any rational or civil discussion of population stabilization, immigration, or environmental issues.

The SPLC is basically a fascistic, hate-mongering organization with an open borders agenda. Its main strategy is use smear tactics, innuendo and charges of “hate” against any individual or group that has become effective in stymying the open borders agenda of SPCL and other organizations of the radical left and radical right.

It functions much like Hamas, or Hezbollah, or drug lords who provide gyms and soccer fields to rural Mexican villages. It does a few good things (like go after the KKK, neoNazis, etc.) in order to drum up donations to fund a lot of bad things.

This week on our podcast, Southern Poverty Law Center Legal Director Rhonda Brownstein and I discuss the article Rhonda wrote recently about Christian Right propaganda regarding a pending federal hate crimes bill. It turns out that major organizations like the American Family Association are lying about the bill, which they claim would result in pastors being thrown into prison for preaching against homosexuality.
