The director of the Mississippi Immigrants Rights Alliance said a new anti-immigration law scheduled to go into effect in January is designed to “scare Latinos out of the state.”

Should one assume that all Latinos in Mississippi are illegal immigrants? Looks like the people against this bill are grasping at straws to come up with a reason not to pass it.

The subhead in this article is also revealing as to the bias of the author. The law is an “anti-illegal immigrant law” not a “anti-immigrant law.” Latinos, who are legally here, are welcomed to stay.
