I wish this gentleman all the best and his stand i am sure in his community is very courageous. By the way, as I glance at the top of hatewatch I see the words ” keeping an eye onthe radical right”. I wish you didn’t use this expression because I do not see what you do and the horrific things you fight in terms of left and right, and in some strange way that tag line somehow legitimizes these activities. It is not the radical right–it is waybeyond that- it is pathological behavour that goes way beyond description as “radical right”–Just a thought

Good for you, Justin.
It’s sometimes amazing what speaks to you if you just stop, and listen to the message.

I am glad to hear of this young man’s rehabilitation
I wonder if he would consider working now for Tolerance?
His story could help other neo nazi kids to denounce racism…

Such changes do occur. Unfortunately they seldom, if ever, occur as the result of reasoned argument. They seem to occur, if at all, as the result of some triggering event such as that which Mr. Boyer describes (hearing President Obama;s speech, etc.) at a time when inner feelings and thoughts are in a degree of flux.
Until we can identify the specific mechanism of this change and utilize it in a positive way, the best we can do is hold the line and stand opposed while hoping for the best.
Other former white supremacists such as James Burdi have made the change. Let’s wish them well and hope others will follow their example.

Such good news! I hope others join me in praying for Justin Boyer and his family, especially his son, as Justin continues in his recovery from “The Nazi Way.” He needs and deserves all the support he can get as he courageously embarks on a new way of living: with love in his heart instead of fear and hate. God bless Justin Boyer.

What a refreshing story. It gives one hope. Wish it made mainstream media. And I do agree, that “keeping an eye on the radical right” slogan does not reflect Obama’s mission of inclusiveness. We can no longer emphasize our political partisanship if we are to the best for our nation. Certainly “keeping an eye on demonstrations of hate and injustice” would reflect what you really do!

I fear that Justin Boyer’s account is a “flight to health” — I have never read of such a rapid conversion. If this change has staying power (and naturally I hope it does!) it belongs at the top of the column of Obama’s greatest abilities. It can mean that he is capable of a tremendous influence toward tolerance and peace in this world.

That is often just how it happens – one person at a time. Way to go, Justin. Share your story with anyone who will listen, and by your example, others can learn from you, and perhaps, alter THEIR points of view to be more open, inclusive, and understanding.

God bless you, for seeing the otherside of life Justin. We are all human beings and would should want the best of life for one another and share the joy of having it freely. Continue to share your blessing with others because it will surely continue to bless you in ways you have never known without asking.

Oh God bless him.
