Columnist Ann Coulter Defends White Supremacist Group

By Mark Potok on February 13, 2009 - 5:48 pm, Posted in Extremist Propaganda

Rabid far-right commentator Ann Coulter is known across America for sliming everyone and everything she disagrees with. Al Gore is a “total fag” and another one-time presidential candidate, John Edwards, is the same. Democrats are “gutless traitors” and their convention a “Spawn of Satan” gathering. Muslims are “ragheads” and America should “kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity.” Jews are people who need to be “perfected.” The New York Times building and its editorial staff should be bombed. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens should have “rat poisoning” mixed into his food. Princess Diana “ostentatiously [had] sex in front of [her] children.” The Rev. Al Sharpton is “a fat, race-baiting black man.” President Bill Clinton was “a very good rapist,” and North Korea should be “nuked.”

But despite denouncing school desegregation as a “spectacular” failure, Coulter has generally avoided bolstering white supremacist hate groups. Until now, that is.

In her latest foaming-mouth tome — Guilty: Liberal “Victims” and Their Assault on America, released on Jan. 6 — Coulter spends the better part of three pages defending a group called the Council of Conservative Citizens (CCC), which The New York Times had described as a “thinly veiled white supremacist organization.” Coulter begs to differ. The CCC, Coulter opines, is “a conservative group” that has unfairly been branded as racist “because some of the directors of the CCC had, decades earlier, been leaders of a segregationist group.” “There is no evidence on its Web page that the modern incarnation of the CCC supports segregation,” she says. “Apart from some aggressive reporting on black-on-white crimes — the very crimes that are aggressively hidden by the establishment media — there is little on the CCC website suggesting” that the group is racist. Indeed, its main failing is “containing members who had belonged to a segregationist group thirty years earlier.”

Coulter could hardly be more wrong. And even if she can’t find time to read beyond a page of the CCC’s website, she really ought to know — after all, the organization where she frequently speaks, the Conservative Political Action Committee, has publicly banned the CCC from its annual gathering because it is racist. Also in the late 1990s, Jim Nicholson, then-chairman of the Republican National Committee, asked GOP members to stay away from the CCC because of its “racist and nationalist views.”

How could conservative Republicans be inspired to say such ugly things? Let us count the ways.

The CCC’s columnists have written that black people are “a retrograde species of humanity,” and that non-white immigration is turning the U.S. population into a “slimy brown mass of glop.” Its website has run photographic comparisons of pop singer Michael Jackson and a chimpanzee. It opposes “forced integration” and decries racial intermarriage. It has lambasted black people as “genetically inferior,” complained about “Jewish power brokers,” called gay people “perverted sodomites,” and even named the late Lester Maddox, the baseball bat-wielding, arch-segregationist former governor of Georgia, “Patriot of the Century.”

One day, the CCC ran photos on its home page of accused Beltway snipers John Muhammad and John Malvo, 9/11 conspirator Zacharias Moussaoui and accused shoe-bomber Richard Reed. “Notice a Pattern Here?” asked a caption underneath the four photos. “Is the face of death black after all?” On another occasion, its website featured a photo of Daniel Pearl, the “Jewish Wall Street Journal reporter” who had just been decapitated by Islamic terrorists. In the photo, Pearl was shown with his “mixed-race wife, Marianne.” The headline above the couple’s picture was stunning even for the CCC: “Death by Multiculturalism?” The CCC Arkansas chapter ran an essay waxing nostalgic for the days “when racial separation was the norm.”

But to Ann Coulter, there is “no evidence” on its website that the CCC “supports segregation.” Mostly, she says, the group — which was formed from the debris of the White Citizens Councils that Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall once called “the uptown Klan” — is about “a strong national defense, the right to keep and bear arms, the traditional family, and an ‘America First’ trade policy.” Indeed, she says, The New York Times and other critics of the CCC are simply liberals “who have no principles.”

Always interesting to see a political association tied to who one stands up for. If of a liberal slant/belief, nothing a Democrat does can be bad. If one is a conservative slant/belief, then they are the spawn of Satan, er sorry, you don’t believe in the Bible if a liberal.
I have followed the rantings of the SLC for years, and it is just another mouthpiece to shut up free speech in our country from “certain” people.
One day, maybe we can get this ironed out again..but it won’t be pretty getting there.

  • Bravo 21

Wow, I haven’t seen a thread like this in a long time.

Pity on Ann, she only has one dress, a black one and one bottle of hair color. Just look at what law school can do for you.

I read Coulter’s first two books, decided she was nuts and now no longer read or watch her.

As a life long southerner, when ever I see “what democrats have done for 40 years” I have to stop you. The ‘old democrats” jumped to the GOP and we now have the new Dem party not to be confused with the old.

Racism is alive and well, we just don’t discuss in polite company.

Does Ann Coulter live on the same planet that I live on?

it astounds me that simple words can bring out such rage in people..taye, tyrone(ha) mixon and ajamarie, take a breath, us sun deprived vampiric lunatics don’t hate all of you…and taye is talking about physical violence, how juvenile…although i’m neither right or left wing, i find it amusing that the SPLC will let angry blacks air their comments as well…easy there bruthas and sistas, all that stress isn’t good for your heart, you know how your kind fall victim to heart attacks fairly easily.

  • Ajamarie

BTW…GOP thinks they are smart to appoint a black man to lead them. Funny like anyone is stupid enough to fall for an uncle tom! Might as well have a black man lead the KKK as in the Chapelle show skit!

  • Ajamarie

I really hope that this poor excuse for a woman ( and man she is a horse face…perhaps this is why she is sooo bitter) cannot breed.
She is why I hate republicans. This is why I cringe at the word “conservative”. After being yelled at by my bitter, misinformed and racist co-workers and members of my community I have had it. Im just at the point where I have to say that I hate you all…right wing nuts. Even the ones that I thought were ok and good at the core will stab me in the back and prove once again that all that they see is a n***er. Racist is synonymous with republican. I live in one of the worst states possible…Arizona. Its literal hell. Its hot, John McCain lives here and its a red state. I cant wait to move to a real place where that stupid b*****es book isnt flying off of the shelves. She lies and twists the truth as they all do. If you ever listen to her logic and stats its all one sides and biased. Her propaganda is anti anyone that is not like her rich, white, sheltered right winger peers . She even bags on single moms! This is a sicko who needs to have her tounge cut out.

who gives a good got damn what that anorexic sun depraved vampiric lunatic says?

    “I am a political science major…”

Uh oh, an expert has shown up. Let’s all step back and allow the political science student to school us on something or other.

  • cmoney

    Grannyof Whites,

I am a political science major at medium sized, upper-midwest university and….

I agree with nearly everything you have posted thus far!

The PC crowd don’t much like eugenics.. Never let the truth in the way of racism.

  • GrannyofWhites

My parents would go all over the US if it meant getting work. My father went to Vietnam, Guam, Hawaii and Alaska in order to make good money. My mother worked in Miami and Alaska. She never complained about how she was treated. She was too busy working.
Even today, while people complain about unemployment, there is work in Alaska – fabulous pay and yes, danger.
Lots of whites went to work on the pipelines in Alaska – dangerous work and dangerous and….dangerous – and then some. Everyone takes it for granted when whites do something dangerous. But people of color must have a badge. They weren’t always that way – it is the spoiled children of color who clamor for equality – which they have had for many generations.
As far as I know, schools are free. So are libraries.
Teach your children to love books – not hate other people.

  • GrannyofWhites

The importance of the Socialist and Communist Party in this debate is that they are now pushing the illegals – in full support it seems – so how is it that they are so concerned about illegals?

Isn’t it because they are Hispanic and the majority of illegals are Hispanic?

Those parties do a lot of secret work – and then complain when any other governments to secretive work. They can also outright murder those they don’t like. Aren’t you forgetting why people had to flee Vietnam and other countries?

  • http://www.clottedcognition.com Liesl

    Roger Mac-Evoy,

What do you get from a couple of mics? Talk of communism, of course! (kidding, everyone!) I think it’s funny that so many people confuse the word “Marxist” with the reality of how it has been perverted by people like Lenin and Castro. I do a little experiment in my classes every semester that scares the bejeesus out of my students. We go through and read each of the conditions for communism laid out in the Manifesto and we compare them to our own country. My students are almost always stunned to see how similar we are to the original ideas, not the perversion of poor practice.

Thanks for the comment on my blog. :-> I’m a big fan of words, obviously, and of access. Actually, I’d like to see the SPLC do more with disabilism as an agenda, some day. I suspect they will, since they rock. Clearly.

  • Ann Coulter Fans Are Idiots

You people that are fans of Ann Coulter are absolute lemmings. Especially the ones of you that talk about her books. Her books are full of lies and half-truths and manipulation of the facts. This fact has been proven time and time again. She is a vile human being and I’m not sure how someone can claim to be a Christian and a supporter of this hateful woman. Why not actually use your brain instead of blindly believing everything you are told. There is a reason people like her don’t use footnotes as documentation, opting for end-notes instead. This way she can hide all of her lies in 20-30 pages that most people aren’t going to try and wade through. I say “most people” because of course some have researched and have documented how manipulative and deceitful she truly is. http://mediamatters.org/items/200608070002

    C’mon people…God gave you a brain…use it!!

  • GrannyofWhites

The truth is – my posts are being deleted. That good, huh?
    Challenging your thinking?
You would still be washing your clothes in a river if it weren’t for the technological advancements of my European relatives.
You are so jealous you are eaten alive. Do you post here every day – so jealous that you must BEAT UP anyone who dares to question your obvious POC propaganda?
While you lecture us on and on about the woundrous virtues of diversity, the Mexican Mafia ships cocaine, heroin and meth over the border by the truckload. Our law enforcement stating that 80 to 90% of those products are coming from Mexico. So much for the wonderful diversity by Mexicans.
I’m a person of color, too, so what are you going to do with me?
Ha ha ha ha…..no one can tell YOU the truth. You’re probably a bilingual and benefitting from the illegal invasion.

  • TAYE

well id say she aint lookin at reality so either shes misplaced her brain somewhere i nd gutter or someone needs to beat it into her system

  • Don Quixote

Granny, your posts remind me of a quote from the famous physicist Steven Hawking: “The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge.”

And you continue to evade the most fundamental question that your entire world view is based on: Define “white culture”, “whiteness” and tell us why non-whites threaten these concepts. If you can’t even tell me what makes a person “white” or a practitioner of “white culture,” then how can you make the claims you do of white surpremacy? Your whole world view is based on some ethereal mythical abstraction – the idea of a white supreme master race and homogeneous white culture – that you seem to find impossible to define.

  • Don Quixote

Granny, one more time and then I’ll quit. You have to define what you mean by “white culture” to support your whole argument. Given that, you then have to tell us how non-whites are destroying this ethereal mythical “white culture” you speak so highly of. These are the two premises are the basis of your entire world view, so you’d better be able to answer them. They’re not trick questions. If you can’t articulate an intelligible answer, you have to admit that your entire argument completely self destructs.

I’ve also asked you if in your twisted scheme of logic, you consider a light-skinned American of Mexican descent, like me, a “white person”. What criteria do you use to determine “whiteness”? Are you using the “one drop” rule established in the 19th century? How far back do you go given that we all descended from Africa and our most ancient common ancestors were probably Black?

  • GrannyofWhites

I’m not saying anything should be covered up. Most things whites did are not covered up.
I’m saying that the murders Indians committed and many other crimes that “people of color” committed – and still commit – are covered up or glossed over.

The “poor me” attitude is showing up in the illegal immigrant population – even though they should not be here at all. They make up their own laws and then cry foul when we don’t accommodate them.

That is unfair to poor whites who I helped for many years in my governmental work.

I already know about the Phillippines. So?

  • GrannyofWhites

In the 1800′s, Mexican workers at one point were brought into the US as workers – and found to be smoking marijuana in the fields.
So, do you want to discuss why Americans frowned on these foreign workers?

    It’s all racism? No.

  • GrannyofWhites

I don’t know who you people discuss politics with.
I know plenty of white, clean-cut, well-educated (college grads and above) who are against illegal immigration and are sick of the “people of color” rhetoric.
They may be careful about who they express their opinions to.
I also know Asians who are against illegal immigration. Again, they are well-educated, have plenty of money for travel and expensive homes.
See the YOUTUBE video by T. Willard Fair, who is CEO and President of the Urban League of Greater Miami – also against illegal immigration. And Colonel Rodriguez of “You Don’t Speak for Me” – an American Hispanic against illegal immigration.
I guess it is pretty obvious that if you live in an area that has more whites than people of color, you will only see whites.
What is sad is that our law enforcement is claiming that 80 to 90% of meth, heroin and cocaine are coming from Mexico. So, those poor whites around you are victims of drug-pushers from south of the border.
Interesting, that you feel no pity for them, and do not access the police blotters (online and available) for areas where Hispanics are dominant – such as LA or Phoenix.
Phoenix now estimated to have 5,000 gang members (and climbing).

  • Roger Mac-Evoy

    Granny
I used to be a teacher and I did teach injustices that our books covered up like the Philippine Insurrection. I didn’t do it to “whine” or wash out some white guilt I might have. No, History is like science, not having all the data or having false data skews the outcome. As a former Intelligence analyst, I saw this first hand when all of us in the field were ignored about an impending Iraqi insurrection.
The main reason I taught these things though, and I made this perfectly clear to my students, was to show how far we have and can continue to come as a nation and as human beings. Our troops and generals called the Pilipino’s by the N word, we massacred up to hundreds of thousands of them in sheer anger.
We did however court martial a general for war crimes and found him guilty making our military more accountable and professional.
If you only wave the flag and never tell of those other brave Americans. Heroes like the helicopter pilot who threatened to fire on fellow US troops to stop the killing at Mi Lai. They need to be in our history books as well and maybe even a few statues.

  • Roger Mac-Evoy

    Liesl,
I do appreciate your comments and the spirit of them. I do take exception to anyone being considered a Marxist who abandons his later view of a democratic revolution.
Too many on the left and the right rely on and quote the pre 1848 Marx and Engels. Eighteen Fourty-eight was as critical a year in the political history of Europe as Nineteen Sixty-eight was in both Europe and the United States. Violent revolutions in 1848 sweep all over the continent and ended up in failure with horrible consequences.
Marx and Engels after eighteen forty-eight became more and more dedicated to democratic institutions and changing society through the democratic process. The Socialist parties in Europe were some of our strongest allies in the fight against Soviet Totalitarianism. All of them are still dedicated to Marxist ideals; post eighteen forty-eight Marxism.
As usual though, extremist with little knowledge have stolen and distorted the language.

PS Love your web page. I was helping to chain some of my vet friends to federal and state buildings back in the early 70’s trying to get access. I agree, words matter.

  • GrannyofWhites

Not all immigrants were poor and treated badly.
    So, that is a stereotype.
My ancestor wrote about his life in his former country – details – that when weddings were held they were lavish affairs and that this new country was more crude and simple. (1820 emigration)
Also, one of my ancestors came from a family which manufactured products. They were producing with a very large crew in the 1870′s.
Do you even know your family history?

  • http://www.clottedcognition.com Liesl

    Don Quixote:

You bring up an interesting point about necessity in racial identity. It makes perfect sense that an African American cultural identity developed because African Americans had no other choice but to carve something out of what was left of their dessicated lives. Whereas, the Irish, Germans, etc. all chose to come here, chose to remain insular (or not) and were obviously free to blend in with others. There isn’t an overwhelming “white culture” because there was never the necessity to create one or mold what was into what is.

    Granny:

“…handsome men, beautiful women, technologically superior and well-educated.”

Gee, I wonder what happened? Now those people who identify themselves as white above any other cultural or psychic considerations are generally uneducated, toothless and technologically stunted with ridiculously bad haircuts.

  • Don Quixote

Not that I believe the message that underlies what I’m about to write, but I do it to illustrate your twisted logic:

I live in an area where “whites” (your favorite word) commit most crimes and have drug and alcohol problems. I live in a nice neighborhood in a rural area. In my neighborhood, there are a few Asians, Blacks and Latinos. In the surrounding area are delapidated trailer parks and shacks with welfare dependent crack users and alcoholics. They’re all “white”. How do you explain this in light of your thesis that whites are somehow magically more beautiful, smarter, blessed by God with gifts and talents, and have halos over their heads? How would you explain the fact that most serial killers and mass murderers are white, that suicides are higher for whites, that most sex crimes, including child rapes, are committed by whites, etc.?

You see how easy it is to demonize any group? I’d like to hear your white supremacist logic explain all these irrefutable facts. The whites where I live scare me, and they don’t seem that beautiful and smart at all, unless you think fat toothless pasty faced people are beautiful. Or 90 lb. crack addicts who look 90 at the age of 30. Yeah, a real superior race Granny. Lovely people…

  • Don Quixote

Holy moly Granny, you ARE a white supremacist. If there was any doubt before, you just removed it with your last posts. I feel sorry for you actually. Of course, trying to reason with someone with your twisted world view is a complete exercise in futility.

And after all that wasted internet bandwidth, you still can’t answer my simple questions: What is “white culture”? And how do non-whites threaten it?

Some more bonus questions: Am I white? I’m a light-skinned Latino. What is “white”? How does one know if one is “white”? How do you know you don’t have a Black or Native American or Arab back somewhere in your vast ancestry? Is there a purity test somewhere? Does the “one drop” rule apply in your way of thinking? These are serious questions. If you can’t answer them, it shows your complete and utter cluenessless and the lack of any foundation for your arguments. If can’t even define “white” or “white culture” there goes your whole world view, right down the toilet and into the sewer where it most definitely belongs. Did you know that scientists believe we all came from one man in Africa? I hate to break this to you but that would make us all technically Black.

    Well?

  • GrannyofWhites

I know my mother didn’t wake us up in the morning and start grinding on the evil white race.
She never said one word about whites that was negative.
So, it just proves that not all people of color have hate in them – and you DON’T NEED TO EITHER.
You are giving people an excuse to have a bad attitude.
What are you going to do with me?

Go back to Mexico and live freely.

    Ha ha.

  • GrannyofWhites

Some people of color do leave the US and go to live happily in other countries. It’s not like anyone is forced to live in this “horrible” country. In fact, Americans have moved all over the globe and find it fun to relocate.
Those who remain and want to constantly “teach” (whine) about every past injustice – are just in need of happiness. They need to “get out” and quit trying to make other feel guilty about things they didn’t do.

  • GrannyofWhites

My blond aunt went to Korea in the 1950′s. Whites were uncommon there. The Koreans came out of their homes and rushed up to her. They went so far as to touch her and tug at her hair.
She said it got to be annoying.

Governments are just arms of the people. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the Chinese in San Francisco wore pins to make sure that they were not mistaken for the Japanese. The were not too keen on the Japanese and some Japanese in Hawaii were not too keen on the Japanese, either. Ha ha…..
The women of San Franciso were also irritated by the Chinese men earlier in the century who were loitering around causing problems as single men often do – when the work for the railroads ran out.
So, some policies may have come about – not because of the mean white men of the US – but because of the minorities and women.

  • GrannyofWhites

Everywhere that whites have gone, when they are the “first” in an area, the local natives stare at them, stroke their hair, etc.
So, I guess you need to explain to me in more detail how race is just a construct of Europeans – because the whole world knows there is an obvious arguement to that notion.
    Just ask the natives.

  • GrannyofWhites

The Japanese are wealthy today because they have had strict controls on immigration.

Apparently, all wealthy countries are somehow evil and all poor countries are somehow deserving of the wealth of others.

Sometimes, the Europeans went to other countries seeking some natural resource that was not even valued by the natives – and today’s pro-immigrant crowd say that it was “robbing”.
I have to slowly explain to you that overpopulation by the poor of our planet – is another form of robbing. China has at least faced up to overpopulation – while other countries seem to take no responsibility at all.
It is thieving, too. Just in another form.

  • GrannyofWhites

Frankly, I don’t really care what happened to the early immigrants who were chastized. Because, the truth is – had the immigrant flow been stopped earlier, this country would have been better off. It would have had a lower population, for one thing. The Mexican Mafia most likely wouldn’t be found in Oregon forests today – and other horrors.
No, those who were here first were right to object.
And we are right to object, now.
Have you never taken a class in Population Studies?

(The Japanese threw some of the early Christian missionaries in boiling hot springs.)

  • GrannyofWhites

    Don,
You are the victim of racist propaganda.
Native Americans called whites names that described the color of their skin – did they not?
Or the color of their eyes?
You are a hateful person in my opinion. Don’t try punishing me with your hate. I have taken many college classes in Anthro, Soc, etc.
You are simply jealous that Caucasions were advanced in technology when they came to these shores. Everyone knows it and you will admit it, too. One of these days.
Everyone is jealous of those with power. But, just as SOME Native Americans handed over their daughters to the white men (not considering their daughters as anything but property) natives all over the globe were impressed with the Caucasians – handsome men, beautiful women, technologically superior and well-educated.

  • Don Quixote

“… people of color make assumptions that fit with their chosen world views.
Choosing to “remember” a history that is a figment of their imaginations.”

Could you possibly be anymore patronizing and condescending? Yes, as a “person of color” (white isn’t a color?) I’m really going to want to to listen to what someone with such an arrogant air of supremacy has to say. In your twisted worldview, whites have the correct version of history, and us mentally inferior “people of color” have revised it to fit our preconceieved world views. Are you sure you aren’t talking about yourself?

    Unbelievable!

PS. You still evade my questions. What is “white culture,” and given that, how is “white culture” threatened by non-whites (immigrants and otherwise)? C’mon now, let’s hear it… Your whole line of reasoning rests of the very premise of the existence of such a thing as a white race and a white culture, as separate from other races and cultures. Did you know that Mexicans and Latinos in general constitute all so-called races? Yes, there are many Black, White, Asian, Indigineous, etc. Latinos. And Argentinians are largely European in descendancy, and I’m not talking about Spain. Do you see how complicated the real world is? I am personally a White American with Mexican descendency. What would you do with someone like me? What silly notion of race would you apply to me? How does it matter?

  • GrannyofWhites

According to Vanity Fair, an article written in August of 2008, more than 60,000 Chinese babies have been adopted by Americans.

  • GrannyofWhites

Native Americans may have been here first, but did that give them an excuse to murder pioneers on sight?
    No.
Let’s remember them when we talk about “spilt blood”.
There had to have been waves of the original people – natives – and did they greet each incoming wave with murder and mayhem?
Did they welcome newcomers? No one knows how much “spilt blood” was spilled before whites came because there was no written history.
Therefore, people of color make assumptions that fit with their chosen world views.
Choosing to “remember” a history that is a figment of their imaginations.
    Come on, people.
You warn us of the evils of whites while the Mexican Mafia takes over the border with nothing but evil intentions.

    !

  • Don Quixote

I’m just curious Granny. What, in your mind, is “white culture”? One more: Assuming you can answer the first question cogently, how is “white culture” threatened by non-white immigrants?

Were you aware that the vast majority of the Ellis Island immigrants from Europe, the Italians, the Irish, Scottish, Germans, etc., were not considered “white” at first? They were chastised by many native white Americans for being un-American, unassimable, poor, ignorant, and a threat to mainstream (white) American culture. The Germans lived in their own enclaves and set up German schools and spoke German. Read some of the anti-immigrant texts from those days and you’ll see what I mean. It’s almost word-for-word the same as much of the rhetoric today coming from the likes of Tancredo, Buchanan, Dobbs, etc. Just change “Irish”, “German”, etc. to “Mexican”, “Muslim”, “Hispanic” and it’s same old same old. Of course, those dirt-poor, illiterate, uneducated, non-English speaking people didn’t destroy our civilization then, and the recent wave won’t either. I suggest you watch “The Golden Gate,” or “The Gangs of New York”. A good read is Josiah Strong’s “Our Country: Its Possible Future and Its Present Crisis” (1885) too. It was a best seller at the time, and it’s very eye-opening to see how the anti-immigrant rhetoric today is nearly a cut and paste from the rhetoric throughout history.

  • Don Quixote

Granny, I’m not sure what your argument is. You’ve set up a couple of strawman arguments that I didn’t make and then proceeded to bash those. Your twisted logic seems to be that since anyone in power is capable of being racist, then it’s OK for Whites in the U.S. Two wrongs…

You completely ignore the unique and historically unprecedented way that race was constructed in the U.S. and how it’s been institutionalized. The U.S. racial system is extraordinary in history. The cultural and physical genocide of Native Americans, the unique form of “chattel” slavery that was based on the ownership of human property, the militaristic expansionism resulting in the loss of about a half of Mexico’s richest territories, etc. are all based largely on racial supremacist ideologies.

By the way, the modern form of medicine we practice today was inherited from the Muslims. You see the world through a racialized lens. Biological race has been disproven by biologists and anthropologists. Race is a social construct so your silly childish statements about the contributions of the mighty Caucasian race seem really dated in 2009. Your discourse could have easily been lifted straight from the discourse of the 19th century, the era of scientific racism, and the myth of Great Anglo-Saxon Protestant race, ordained by God (Manifest Destiny) to spread its superior genes and culture thoughout the world.

If you really are a Granny, I sure hope you’re not filling the heads of your poor grandkids with this nonsense.

  • GrannyofWhites

I hate to tell you this, but the Japanese spilled plenty of blood and they aren’t white.
They turned to war as a problem-solving method and tried to conquer others. So did the Chinese.
The Mayans – were peaceful? No.

Let’s be fair. Given the chance to hold power, few people on the planet can live up the perfect model you are dreaming of.

  • GrannyofWhites

I really appreciate the whites that have been so good to me.
They are not given enough credit for the many, many international child programs – providing the administration and support to help children all over the world go to school.
They have also adopted countless children all over the world. I think Americans have adopted about 38,000 children from China, alone.
Let’s be fair and give credit where credit is due.
It isn’t there fault that the world was a crude place in the 1700′s, 1800′s, etc.
It was crude in all parts of the world – including India – with a severe caste system. Even now, Africa allows men to have many wives. Is that progressive?
Don’t demonize Caucasians who have brought many good things to this planet – including medical research that is top notch and shared with the world.

Oh, come on. I do buy the reverse discrimination claims. You aren’t being honest or have never known a minority person who confided their inner thoughts if you think they can’t be racist. For another, since minorities are the minority – they just haven’t had the chance to be in power and misuse it.
All you have to do is travel to other countries to see that when people of color ARE in power – and you can look to Asian countries like Japan as examples, you will see that they really dislike their minoritie as well.
    Why shouldn’t they?
They dislike the loss of their familiar cultures.
I see no problem with that.
Whites do have a culture here. Many COME here and say that they are following the American Dream. The American Dream is ______? To make money? To take advantage of the minorities? So why would people of color want to come here if they are so pure that they have no evil intentions? After all, they should stay home rather than trample the Native American’s land on the border.
Yet, they come right over and trample away.
The Native Americans have pleaded with the illegals to STOP coming on their land.
    You are simply swallowing propaganda.

I don’t buy the claims of White “reverse racism” of for a second. Racism has two critical components: First, it is based on the belief that the racial group (however this is constructed) one pertains to, is intrisically superior to others, or, stated another way, the belief that other groups are instrinsically inferior to yours. Although I’m sure there are some exceptions, I don’t see very many cases of Blacks or other minorities thinking or acting like they’re superior to Whites.

Secondly, and most importantly, racism is mostly about the establishment and maintenance of uneven power relations between racial groups. Whites have no supportable claim to the lack of power, not even now as they get moderately knocked down a couple of notches. All major institutions of power – governmental, economic, corporate, justice, media, etc. – are widely controlled by a hugely disproportionate number of White, wealthy males.

Using this dual definition of racism – uneven power relations coupled with a sentiment of inherent racial supremacy – non-White minority groups cannot be technically racist against Whites (although there may be some validity to the claim that there is racism among some minority groups relative to others). Of course, this may change as Whites increasingly find themselves a demographic minority, but that is no guarantee of the loss of economic and political power either. Look at places like South Africa where Whites are a small minority but yet use institutional racism to maintain economic disparities and power.

Any White who makes disingenuous claims of “reverse vicitimization” or “reverse racism” is being intentionally obtuse. There is no such thing, and they know it. And even if there were instances of anti-White sentiment, or a feeling of disenfrachisment, well what can I say?… Cry me a river! Welcome to club, now you have a tiny taste of what everyday life has been like since Whites arrived here and exalted themselves on the backs, and through the spilt blood, of millions of Native Americans, Blacks, Latinos and Asians.

Welcome to the club indeed! You’re certainly in good company.

Illegal immigration is one of the biggest problems we have today. The illegals are moving silently, secretly. They could be doing many of these crimes to stir up the pot and make it appear that others (implying whites) are committing hate crimes. Anonymous crimes are just that. Anonymous crimes. I know for a fact that a black woman in Portland, OR spraypainted her own house. She admitted it.
You are using the internet to spread the word about your group, and young trash-talking Hispanics and blacks are putting down whites and “Europeans” on YouTube and any place handy.
I’ll believe you are really interested in defending human rights when you start condemning some of these people for their remarks.
Until then, you are just another racist organization, defending racists. You are anti-Caucasians – admit it.
The problem for your organization is that it has lost the respect it once had.

Pol Pot abandoned Marxism? Huh? He killed his own people, by and large, and never abandoned the warped ideology he believed was related to communism. What an odd claim.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and assume that the thousands of people tortured and killed on direct order from Lenin would find his portrayal as a bigot to be less than idiotic. As would the people killed in Castro’s labor camps and prisons for no other reason than their political affiliation or sexual preference. The idiocy in that idea is certainly not in holding the left to the same standard that you hold the right for bigotry. Doing anything less is just gross.

  • Ruslan Amirkhanov

Pol Pot was a “bigot”, mainly because in the course to power he abandoned Marxism and founded his new ideology on ancient Cambodian nationalism, which involves hatred of Vietnamese and the Thai. Other than that, calling Castro or Lenin bigots is simply idiocy.

    Ann Coulter…nutjob.

I happen to agree with Liesl:

“I challenge you to find any bigots on the left”

    – LOOKS LIKE YOU GOT WHOOPED, BUDDY!

IF your conceptualization is that Bigotry is a “Left or Right” issue then YOU may know nothing of Bigotry.

Start with an intelligent definition of Bigotry: use something like the Oxford English Dictionary or Websters. Then declare that there cannot be bigotry against one group because they happen to be a majority in a certain country.
Ask yourself WHY the SPLC defines certain groups made up of people of color in the USA as Hate groups: they espouse bigotry against whites.
Fair is fair DON’T START INTO THAT BULLSHIT THAT SOME GROUP CAN DO NO WRONG because they happen to be people of color who are not in “power positions”. We elected an African American President!
Many contributors here ARE people of color & find the defense of stupidity because the origin comes from a minority in the USA to be either intellectually lazy or typical “white guilt” blathering.
Men & women of color (or minority status) don’t need any defense of their fellows from the majority group. We are mature & fair minded enough to call out our own wrong doings without the majority’s defense of our stupidity or wrong doings.

Regardless of race, there isn’t a person on this planet who hasn’t experienced bigotry and to assume that conservatives own that bigotry alone is remarkably, well, bigoted. Pol Pot? Fidel Castro? Lenin? I’m pretty sure most people would call them ultra-leftist, and lookie there! bigots to a man.

I’d also like to know how this majority protection works. We cannot move through life in a hive of white people to somehow “protect” ourselves from outside bigotry; there will be a time when every one of us experiences racism based on nothing more than the perception of our race. So, how, exactly, does this white majority thing work? I’m white, but I’ve experienced racial bigotry; does that mean I am not entirely white? not entirely of the majority?

With regard to a comment I made on another post in this thread, I would like to point out that I may have been subject to a hoax e-mail I received that I thought was from the SPLC. It was not from Mark Potok of the SPLC. As I no longer have the e-mail, I cannot have the SPLC verify its authenticity, but I want to again say that it was not Mark Potok.
