“They face a maximum of 10 years in prison. And a fine up to $250,000. Sentencing is scheduled for May 5.”

Whew….tough one. Now that’s what I call Justice!

“Jonathan and Sol WHYTE of Medford, Ore.”

Justice is finally served for the WHYTE(pronounced White) family. It was a White on Whyte hatecrime. But at last, the KKKriminals are facing some of the harshest punishments under the hatecrimes act.

    Enforce it!

It never amazes me how cowardly these people are, if you don’t like someone or have a problem with someone why not go face to face? If they are so proud why sneak around? I’ll tell you why, because they know what they are doing is wrong and even their weaks beliefs are flawed. Here an idea good vs. bad, how about that?

    Hi –

I have never understood the term ‘Hate Crime.’ ALL crimes are hate crimes, think about it. I mean, c’mon, can any of them be termed LOVE crimes? Also, why is it virtually always only White people that are charged w/ this?!? Don’t other Races, Ethnicities hate other Races, too?

Matches could be clamed to be a “small explosive device.” Indeed, I have seen some constructed from match heads. I would not want to call this arson nor is it the felony material we should be puting anyone in prison for. The punishment should fit the crime. No one was hurt and the intend to do bodily harm was not there.

People should consider the costs of these things. Overcrowding causes assaults on staff, destruction of facilities, and civil remedies being paid to prisoners. Add to that the fact we are approaching $40,000 a year per inmate.

The Oregon Constitution used to say, “Laws for the purposes of punishment will be for reformation rather than vindictive justice.” It was a mistake to change that. When the system is vindictive it vindicates the criminal and makes him or her a hero.

I would rather give these “heros” ten years of picking up trash on the highways once a month, restitution to pay for replanting the WHOLE lawn, and a monthly supervision fee while they are on probation.

These two seem to have not enough to do with their time. In these times, do we want to make the citizens pay for their crime? Or them?

Tina I think some of them can be regarded as desperate crimes if not “hate” i.e. take a druggie for example:

If a snaggled-toothed METH addict natavist were to commit a robbery, it is done so to support his drug habit. That would merely be classified as desperation. Because the natavist is hooked on Methaphetamines that he’s been cooking up in his double-wide somewhere in rural USA. He’s not committing robberies out of “hate” but out of an addiction that he has no control over it.

Also Pedophilia and Child Molestations for example are not “hatecrimes”. The Pedo-Saxons who do this is plainly sick in the head and has an adnormal sexual deviancy which he has no control over. Its a psychological thing. And thus, cannot be classified as “hate”.
Plus numerous other crimes are not done out of “hate” so no, not “all crimes are hatecrimes.”
