I just want to know 1 thing..Why is it that its ok to have all black award events and scholarship programs, etc?? Any time any white person wants to have an all white event, they are being racist! Its complete bs! And as far as us living in “our southern mess” goes, we’re doing just fine down here in MS :) if black people want to be proud of their heritage and accomplishments, then that’s great..white people should be able to too! I’m not a racist at all, but to hell with the double standards..

Hey… There are those who espouse racial hatred in every state and region.

There are so many wonderful things about living in the South. I refuse to allow the bigots to have the victory by handing it over.

“Its a great lesson in Democracy that we’re learning.”

In a Free and Democractic society like the U.S., comes with Rights granted for every American, regardless of their skin color. And one of those “Rights” is called *Civil Rights*.

Could it be that this man is not only a racist white supremacist, but a two-faced hypocrite?
Judging by his statements from above, it seems as if this Richard Barrett has much to “learn” about “Democracy”.

Also, what on Earth does “patriotism” have anything to do with sports?
If he is just gonna select white teenage athletes for this event, then indeed it would be a “racist” and a worthless event. And that itself would be contradictory to “the Spirit of America.”

Apparently Barrett also thinks that only MALE athletes can serve as models of good sportsmanship, leadership & citizenship???
Why does the MS legislature waste its time with such a fellow who lives in the distant past?

Who cars if he’s a nudist. This is a free country and all citizens are allowed to participate and enjoy her protections, even if you are a nudist, and don’t believe having clothes touching your body.
