Unless I missed something, the Inquirer Story says nothing to indicate that any of the folks in this incident were white supremacists or hate group members; there are many, many non-racist and anti-racist skinheads. Of course I don’t know what the ideological background (if any) of the ‘Pagans’ is, maybe they are the racists–I’m just a bit confused as to why this is on the Hatewatch Headlines post.

Sounds like a bunch of gangland thugs were beating each other up. Throw them all in jail and find a way to prevent this element from gathering, they put us all in danger.

tyrone, I think you missed the point. The article isn’t about “broomsticks”. It was about a tattood words of “skinhead” which is primarily associated with white supremacy. The tattoo itself is what initiated the fight. I think a lot of folks both white and nonwhites are offended by skinheads and other white supremacist related imagery. A mere sight of an skinhead is an act of instigation by itself, they are not welcomed in many aspects. Especially if you host an event with tattooist from around the world.

I got the point “skinhead” was tattoed on someone’s head. There skinheads that are not racist,we have them in my area and if you did’nt know would assume they are racist. I think we need to slow down with the word racist it’s getting far to much use. Just like the word hero, use it to much and it starts to mean everything

    Yeah.
Except that the “skinheads” you are referring to, are called SHARPs.
Unlike neo-Nazis, SHARPs do not display anything that identifies or associates them with neo-Nazis in case you didn’t know. Thus, the mainstream term for “skinhead” is a neo-Nazi, even though SHARPs are skinheads of non-racist kind.

Then again who says anything about the term “racist” being used copiously? Can you not tell “racist” from non-racist?

I am an anti-racist skinhead and have been since 1988 and I call my self a “skinhead”. I am not a SHARP because I have no affiliation with that group. SHARP skins are just a group of anti-racist skinheads that belong to that “group”. I guess you could say all SHARP skins are anti racist but not all anti-racists are SHARP skins. I do have the tattoos that would tell people I am a skin which is in no way shape or form tell them I am a racist. In fact I have many friend who have “skinhead” tattooed on them and many of them are not of caucasan dece The only reason people think the term is synonymous is because of the media and how they have reported the subculture. I guess a bunch of people not hating everyone and listening to ska is just not that exciting. Thought I would share as I was just researching any correlation between outlaw bike gangs and nazi skins. Oi Oi Oi

I must agree, Outlaws and Pagans fighting? This is not Hatewatch material, this is History channel’s Gangland material.
