It’s not just they think they are “the only ones fit to lead” it that they still know that when they do hateful things, it’s barely prosecuted because they made it that way. It creates hopelessness on the part of those they do things to. The fact that we still have Neo Nazis and KKK is not and should not be protected under the law, but it is because we keep expecting white folks to police themselves. Clearly, they can’t and won’t.

“…..a nation so deeply driven by culture, race and religion”.
Of these three, religion drives the most hate. It infests the culture with a mind set that justifies racism, homophobia, paternalism, and hate.

The arrogance of individuals who firmly believe that “God is on our side” has created mindless automatons with a mind set that “we” are justified in all “our” actions by divine right!

Find a cure for “religion” and you’ll have the cure for hate.

Racist-based hatred can only be “cured” one bigoted person at a time. Derek Vineyard (played by Ed Norton) demonstrated this conversion extremely well in “American History X”. When an individual of one race takes the time and energy to understand the experience of a person of another race (or culture, sexual orientation, etc), that is when pre judging leaves the equation.
In the long term, systemic barriers maintained by white priviledge need to be eliminated. When, or if, that is ever achieved, we can then have a society free, or more free, of racial hatred based in ignorance.

The problem is not “religion”, although, when you control what a person believes about themselves, you basically control that person. People pervert belief systems all the time to control people. The problem is “White privilege”. Black groups that believe what they believe and commit crimes go to jail! White people that KILL people live to old age never having to spend one day in jail! That’s the difference here! This still happens, and as long as it does and these people are allowed to form groups that know that they will be protected by laws that other white people create, the issue will go on!

History will determine who was fit and unfit to lead. It is uncanny how the people and their vote always win and choose the right man at the right time. So far…so good!

“We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought right back to our own front yards. America’s chickens are coming home to roost.”
    Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obama’s pastor
Can you cure hate with hate?
    Guess not.
