People are carrying guns to President’s public meetings with impunity. They are intimidating and dangerous. I look forward to SPLC publishing a special, ongoing sections on danger and threats to Presidents.

No surprises here. Of COURSE white supremacists would be promoting this kind of sh*t. It’s right up their alley and they take every opportunity to again prove themselves to be the vicious, lying scum they are.

Barrack Obama knows better than to lie about his birthplace; which shows more honest intelligence than his detrractors.

Frank,
Some people are frustrated with the fact that they feel they are being ignored. I am neither Conservative or Liberal, but I tend to lean to the right. That being said, I think a certain segment of society, mostly conservative, are tired of the abuse and attacks from the liberal media and ultra-liberal citizens. When Bush was in office, the liberals could say and accuse him of anything, citing freedom of speech. Now, when the conservatives don’t like what Obama is saying, and excerise their rights (the same rights as liberals), they are accused of being right-wing nuts. Some are, some aren’t.
The same can be said about liberals. It would be easy for a conservative to label all liberals as ACORN supporters, which I feel is unjust.
Bringing the issue of citizens, legally carrying firearms in the open, into a discussion about morons spreading lies and factually inacurrate rumors, is not the place.
If you feel firearms are intimidating and dangerous, don’t put yourself in contact with them. I would bet that the majority of the citizens carrying the firearms are resonsible and have some sort of common sense about handling the weapons.
What ever happened to protecting the rights of ALL citizens? Or is this just another case of protecting the rights of like-minded people… people that agree with you?

I’m quite sure that people ARE afraid, but sadly that fear is from ignorance and fear- we ALREADY have socialized medicine as an OPTION in this country, and people have been doing end-of-life conseling for years- I know I hjave had to do it- it has nothing to do with euthansia, rather,l what does the patient want, do they want to be kept comfortable only, do they want hydration, TPN? It is the JOB of doctors and nurses working on the front lines to do this, and frankly, EVRYONE should be discussing end-of life issues, unless someone knows a secret to immortality- NONE of us knows when our time will come!
I agree, probably conservatives HAVE been left out- guess what, during the Reagan-Bush-Bush years the left felt that way- now y’all know what it’s like. Freedom of speech is one thing, shooting, killing ANYONE in the name of God (whatever God that might be), carrying guns into a sanctuary of a church, OR to a public meeting is inappropriate- leave ‘em at the door! I am a firm beoiever in 2nd amendment rights, I also have a gun, and I also know where is appropriate to carry it and where not- so evidently those coming to meeting with firearms are NOTquite so responsible , or quite so possessed of common sense or they would not be bringing them into a public assembly- and since there HAVE been incidents of shootings ( mostly by right wing whack jobs ) so it would seem prudent to me to go to church or a public forum, and leave the guns at home!
It’s fine to speak one’s mind, in fact it’s all of our rights as citizens, but it is NOT OK to open fire, shout down the speaker (with the aim of disrupting the meeting)- Remember the 1st amendment gives us the right to assemble PEACABLY.
SO, how about having respect for everyone’s rights, including those who are trying to get the FACTS before they make up their minds.
Some call it white supremacy, I call it sin and common criminality. Might as well call a spade a spade!

Being born in New Mexico I was raised in a diverse environment among Hispanics, Native Americans, Asians, African American, as well as Anglos. I didn’t learn the labels until well after I had developed friends and relationships with all types of human beings. I am richer for the relationships I have due to the cultural diversity celebrated in New Mexico. I think of white supremacists as being culturally stunted individuals.
As for “birthers”, “stupid is as stupid does”.
I really hate Stupid! Does that make me an Elitist?

No John Criswell, it doesn’t. My friends too come in all colors and I would have been poorer for not having known them – Jamaican, Chinese, Hindu, South African, black white and in between. There seems to be something in the human psyche that makes people fear the unknown. Some are unable to overcome that and allow themselves to know these wonderful people, They are the poorer for that. The problem is theirs, not yours.

John, unless one actually walks in the footsteps of those discriminated against, one does not realize the pain that it causes – even to small children. At the time of the “cold war”, I had a Russian father – although we had been in Canada long before the Russian revolution (1895), I found that my son, who was in the air force cadets in 1970, could not get a clearance because he was 1/8 Russian. I was never so happy as when the Communist regime fell in Russia. But the memory lives on and I have vowed never to place others in the position that I had myself been in forty years ago. It hurts to be made fun of because of something one has no control over – color, race, etc….

Obama has provided a short form birth certificate that states he was born in Honolulu in 1961.
The short form birth certificate is legal for qualifiying Obama to be a natural born US citizen.
This birther stuff is insane.

Of course, if you’re going to pay $10,000, then of course you’re going to have people come tell you, “Yes! I was there! In Kenya!” For that amount, I would tell you I saw him born in Kenya, and I was born 6 months after Obama in Texas. By the time this is over, there’ll be 1,000 people in the room when he was “born in Kenya.” It’ll be the most crowded birth scene in history! LOL!

Interesting to know just how little it takes for one to sell themselves.
