I presumed this will be common place. Given the rise in hate groups and a possible revolutionary movement by panicky white supremacists. Just because there is a “Black Man” as a sitting President in the White House, doesn’t justify their wanton acts of violence. This Nation is a Nation of laws, and making such stupid death threats like the one noted in the article above, should not be tolerated. Instead, it will simply mean one(perhaps more) white supremacist taken down but more to go. I’m not a “Socialist” a “Commie”, or a Black person. I’m simply a Patriotic American who supports the rule of law. We cannot allow white supremacist destroy our country. Unlike them, I can cope under either political party. These white supremacists just don’t possess that characteristic.

The article describes him as off his meds, so I hope adequate healthcare is available for this pitiful creature! For me the article was a reminder that there sometimes might be no distinction between overt racism, as an ontological position adopted by some group, and insanity as experienced by an individual participating in that, perhaps primed by other participants who understand his condition.
    Just an educated guess here…

It is not just panicky white supremacists who are prone to revolutionary thought in this country. That is a growing trend across many spectrums of our society. I’d say it’s just become more noticeable now since Bush’s reign so obviously wrecked the governmental infrastructure. Though, I noticed no one calling an anti-governmental movement during his reign a racist movement. It is the same movement, just a different puppet in charge of the white house.

This has got to be one of the fastest ways to surly get arrested today. I’m just waiting for the day when one of these fools takes a gun to a Obama meeting. Then try something stupid like raise that gun, even if he has no ill intension. That’s when SS will clean his skull out and everybody around will get that fine spray of ignorance all over themselves.

Credible threats should be investigated and prosecuted. But from the sketchy info in the article, it sounds like this kid is more a mentally ill attention seeker than someone who was seriously plotting or acting on his threat. Assasins usually don’t tip off the authorities beforehand. I hope his sentence is mental confinement and treatment. Prison probably would just turn him into more of a threat.

The penintentiary system is already saturated with inmates with various mental afflictions like the white guy in the article. Possibly due to the fact that most of those who go to prison are also drug addicts and chronic dope users etcetera. I’m sure prison will suite him just fine. As for the purported assasins and plotters, they’re usually white. I have yet, to see a non-white trying to do the same. So far, there hasn’t been any, which is why I suppose assinations of presidents is a white man’s thing. Given the history on assination attempts on U.S. presidents.

Shadow Wolf, perhaps the reason for no blacks assassinating presidents is easier than you think. Let’s see, how many blacks were armed during the slavery period? I’d say not many. Also, later on to today, how many blacks are in jail? Of those that are out of jail, how many are dis-armed by being unable to have a firearm legally? The answer is obvious! To protect the president all we have to do is enslave, imprison, and dis-arm the citizenry! My final question? How many white collar criminals, who do the most damage to society, are in jail in comparison to blue collar criminals (who do almost no damage to society) in jail? And also, is the purpos of jail merely to punish? Shouldn’t it be to protect society? If so, then why are our prisons merely breeding grounds for graduate degrees in crime? Once again, the state is failing to properly maintain it’s obligation to protect it’s citizenry. What a shock.

    Lunsford,

I am not here to debate the trite infantile issue of which race/ethnic groups commit more crimes and vice-versa. Or which make-up the disproportion prison population et al. For the record, I’m not black nor do I care to defend black criminals or their movement whatever is it that is your summoning. Those issues are irrelevant and has no real merit.
It has nothing to do with arming or disarming of U.S. citizens. In fact, I’m all for the right to bear arms. But it only should be applied to law abiding citizens like myself who are responsible and rational folks.

My point is simply about the assasinators of presidents and why they always tend to be white in general. As history has shown this to be true, otherwise.

As for the prison system. My answer is simple:
If you commit crimes, you do the time. But if you want lawlessness, there’s always Somalia and Pakistan for you.

Nathan Wine’s hateful and hate-filled rhetoric is unfortunately not uncommon particularly in this month’s screaming melees at various health reform town halls. It is this sort of racism and bigotry that makes the SPLC so necessary in our society.

Birth control is still an obvious but frequently ignored staple solution. However, since our capitalist culture seems to thrive on marginalized surplus humanity, we marinate ourselves in self defeat. If we don’t acknowledge this intractable reality and finally do something fudamental about it, we may find ourselves broiling slowly on the grill of reality. I didn’t sell my soul to the Devil and I sure as heck don’t want some reckless moneybags doing it for me.

Just because someone off their medication says something outrageous, holding their parents responsable is just as outrageous. Unless you know for a fact that said person was raised in a racist enviornment, you can’t assume. I know plently of people who are racist despite having a mixed family and plently of non racist people who have been raised in racist families. One more thought, he was off his medication. I know from expirence that when my brother who has bi-polar disorder gets off his meds, he gets unstable. You don’t know what this guy went through nor do you know what his family is like. I don’t agree with him but I’m not going to judge his family or his actions.
