As a person who had a Jewish Star burned on my family’s lawn in the early 1960s — in a predominantly German town in mid-state IL, I deeply sympathize with the Family in Independence Township, Michigan. I have always wondered why Rodney King’s infamous words: “Why can’t we all just get along?” do not resonate any better than they have, esp. so with scientific break-throughs and the stark Realization that We are all MORE the same than different.
Now with the proliferation of The Internet, it may be easier to track some of these Hate Groups. I certainly hope so, so others will not have to suffer.
In closing, probably the only way to ease tension between the Races is to realize that Life is too short and that each day should be lived to the fullest. In America, we have many blessings that those Populations in less fortunate 3rd World Countries do not have access (to). For a nation of foreigners of every Skin Color possible, The United States of America became this way because of being a Melting Pot of variety and diversity. Let’s not let that Legacy go up in smoke.

I had rather hoped that we had progressed beyond this sort of thing. Thomas Jefferson once said, “The price of liberty is eternal vigilance”. It looks like we still have to keep our guard up and to keep speaking out against institutionalized hate.

If this is being “investigated”. Well..it shouldn’t be too hard to solve it. Everybody knows who the usual suspect[s] are. There’s only one catch, though– its finding out which one[s] did it. And then bring them in to face Justice.

Notice how the state reported a hate crime against a gay kid at the same time as this cross burning.
Gays are the latest minority to be victimized by knuckle-dragging Neocon Neanderthals.
I suppose they will be burning pink triangles on their lawns next. Oops, don’t give them any ideas.

That’s an understatment, knowing that gays are virtually targetted by just about every ethnic group with the exception that most of the anti-gay rhetoric comes from religious establishments. Its rather silly to assume that its only “Neocon Neanderthals” who bash gays on a daily basis. That’s probably because the gay lifestyle is not a very popular concept with every heterosexuals regardless of their race.

I’m still thinking about the Cross-Burning Incident HATE WATCH posted last week and what Tyrone Mixon stated on on September 3rd, 2009 at 2:07 pm that read as:

As a person who lives in Chicago since 1974 (moving in shortly after the Democratic Convention and ‘RACE-Riots’ of 1968), you have to understand that not only can some People hate and viciously carry it out, but others who are once ‘doused,’ inebriated in and/or overcome by liquor or drugs…will soon attack ‘The Color’ (no pun really intended) of another person and perhaps say or do actions that are hateful. Color just seems to be the easiest target to attack; besides other physical attributes we Humans seem to carry with us throughout our days.
Here in Chicago near Cub’s Field (our north side baseball team) a few city blocks away house many talented Gay Men. The area (of about 4 blocks) is cleverly known as Boys’ Town for the obvious reasons. True to form, every Friday & Saturday Nights, their bars and restaurants cater to an assortment of every urban, suburban and farm type person who meanders on in.
Oft-times when an attack happens, they (usually the Police and/or Sociologists) immediately place the BLAME on a Hate Crime – when in actuality, it could be the Liquor or Love-Drugs talking.
Attacks are an attack no matter who you are and no matter what Race you happen to be. If the People (all of us — even YOU) here on Planet Earth were to suddenly become BLIND, would we hate each other because we all smelled different(ly)? That’s what I’d like to know.

I wonder how many of you caught the NBC/NYC segment this AM (Thursday, September 10TH) about Paul Karason who had taken Colloidal Silver for a Skin Condition he was suffering from and the outcome is that his skin had turned blue and remained that color.
This was the 2nd Time Matt Lauer had interviewed Mr. Karason but the first time I had heard of this Story and Condition. I was curious, of course, but deeper ramifications are that this can all be tied to alleviating Racism, not only that he has a unique medical case that few of us see.
Presently and sadly, Mr. Karason has other more serious medical issues to deal with — than just the ‘color of his Skin’ — but if this were to happen to me, it would be a terrific way to infiltrate the School Systems — from First Grade thru 8TH — teaching Kids about Tolerance. I don’t know if he has attempted this since his Skin turned blue, but it definitely could and should be done.
And, of course, there’s the world-famous percussion band (that is headquartered in Chicago) by the name of BLUE MAN GROUP that could use their ‘pull’ to address Bigotry also.
It certainly is something to think about as we all try to get along with our neighbors.

Grocery stores can be used as Libraries, especially since so many great magazines (of those left) can be read while waiting in the check-out line. This morning while getting my double Bagel and diet A&W Rootbeer Fixes, I saw the cover of:
Newsweek Magazine
whose title story read as: Is your Baby Racist?
Of course, I grabbed the last issue (dated 9-14-2009) and
tossed it in with my groceries. I’ve only read half of it so far, but the Theory is that Birgitte Vittrup of the Children’s Research Lab at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas ran a study to see if videos about multi-cultures had an(y) effect on young kids. You would be surprised! Not only
at the Kids, but what their Parents displayed during the course and duration of the study.
