Police say the cab driver, a Sikh immigrant, was called “Taliban” and “terrorist” by his assailants.

Stupid redneck racists don’t know the difference between a Sikh and a Muslim. Sikhs are a completely different religion and they’re from India.
Its bad enough they want to victimize innocent Muslims for crimes some terrorist committed. But they’re not even scapegoating the right group of victims.
This isn’t the first time Sikhs have been attacked either, mistaken for Muslims. Rednecks just see brown skin and a turban and start hitting.
