He got what he deserved…he is an embarrassment to the badge…COPs have/will/do/shall be held to a higher standard…don’t like those odds, I am sure the old career is waiting.

The only reason he was fired was because of all the bad media attention this case has drawn. He actually could sue , he hasnt broken any laws, or CHP policy. He may be a dumba** , but the fact remains he only disturbed the peace, a crime which many , many police officers have on their records. Now the ones he simulated “popping caps” in could sue him for a rights violation, an action which wasnt taken.

Officer Taylor was fired a few days ago. CHP caved in to a public outcry instead of sticking to their deal with Taylor that if he pleaded guillty he could keep his job.

Why is CA not making a terrifying example of this asshole? Nobody expects cops to be geniuses, but they should be trained to the point of reflexive Pavlovian automatism to avoid the least appearance of hate crime. California’s budgetary dissolution will let the state purge worms like this – but only if victims routinely make a very high-profile stink.
