Reminds me of those pharmacists who refuse to do their jobs when they object to the medicine being prescribed. I believe that if you’re paid to do something, you should do it to the best of your ability. If you’re going to refuse to do any part of it for any reason, you should find another line of work.

I agree with JoeBuddha. However, I think that in some places pharmacists and other medical personnel are allowed to opt out of doing things that violate their religious or other beliefs. I suppose the only way to settle this is a case before the Supreme Court.

This case was decided decades ago by the U. S. Supreme Court. The case is Loving v. Virginia, decided in 1967. It holds that a state actor’s refusal to issue a marriage license to an interracial couple is a violation of the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment.
We don’t have to reinvent the wheel, everytime an ignoramus shows up. It’s called stare decisis.

This situation is just unreal. In this day, long after laws banning interracial marriages, hearing of this< I am incredulous that this type of thinking is still exists. He is being paid in government funds, for heaven’s sake and should not be breaking the law. I know it’s not a law against murder or rape but a law nonetheless.

With all the positive steps we’ve taken in so many directions, I can’t believe I actually read that in this century. Seems like judge racist should find another job.

I was stationed at Fort Polk, LA in the 90s. Since this happened in Louisiana, I’m not surprised. There are people in Louisiana who still don’t know that the civil war is over. If you go through Louisiana, make sure you have enough gas to make it through without stopping. If you stop and hear banjo music, your goose is cooked.

I heard a few similar stories from a friend who was down there during Katrina. He said basically that some folks down there felt like Louisiana was it’s own country…

What’s all this “donkeyphant” nonsense? Democrat suddenly changes to a Republican seems a little weird to me. If a Republican suddenly changes to a Democrat is that a “elephonkey”? What’s a “honkey” anyway? I’ve always been a liberal Democrat so I’m a little confused.

ROFLMBO!!! Welllllllllll, Mike M!!! An elephonkey is a white Republican, didn’t you knowwww???!!!

Allen sounds a little sad, like he wishes Deliverance was real; I bet he’d spend A LOT of time making the pig noise if he only had half a chance.

Thanks Dakota! Glad you like my humor. I like yours as well.

Geez, Swampcat, I sure didn’t get that from Allen’s post. But who’s to say Deliverance wasn’t real… after all, it was on TV, fer goodness sakes! Don’tcha know everything on TV is real???
