In the 1960s through to the 1980s many violent bombings and assasinations were carried out in Italy by some neo-fascist groups which were revealed by a judicial inquiry to be the work of a top-secret NATO network which was set up after WW2, known in Italy as "Gladio". The aim of such officially sanctioned terrorist outrages was to blame this terrorism on leftists and thus prevent the PCI communists from gaining more electoral support or from entering into a coalition government and also to prepare public opinion for a possible right-wing coup. Ties between intelligence agencies and neo-fascist/neo-nazi extremists have been revealed in many other countries too. That being said, this guy is going to have to do his time in Protective Custody. While we know that a very high percentage of WN are informers or paid agents of federal authorities fighting domestic terrorism, when this guy get's convicted he is actually getting a much more vicious period of incarceration than most. I do NOT argue that he deserves it or not. However Turner's trial is a VERY serious one. The Shock Jock angle may not sell if there is written depiction of the names, addresses, etc not given him by the supposed "FBI" who made him "ratchet up his rhetoric" - at those he directed his venom. While the actual statistics from state to state are usually unavailable, the number of people who get injured or murdered in prison vary on a variety of circumstances.
