So who gets to decide what thoughts in a person’s head a person must have to prevent them from organization. Furthermore, can the SPLC actually prove ANYTHING they claim about amren, or do they merely assert it constantly until people unable to think critically like Snorlax start to believe it?

What if a person claimed a group of black people had supremacist thoughts in their head but was unable to prove it? Would that be an acceptable reason to prevent the group from peacefully assembling? After all, who needs proof for anything right?

Yes it is different. Unless the blacks are a black supremacist group (SPLC watches these groups too) then this is an apples-and-oranges comparison.

When blacks are denied lodging (which is illegal) it is usually due to racist innkeepers.

This is different than racists being denied a conference room to spew their hate in front of other hotel guests.

Even those who are politically right of center draw a line in the sand that they don’t cross (Generally that is “burning crosses”).
This is one reason why I refuse to call Republicans or Democrats names or dismiss the Right or Left when I disagree with a perspective. In most people there is a “common good and common ground”. When that is lost, the person becomes emotionally & socially disturbed. There are many reasons to disagree with someone who thinks differntly politically but the base of human decency is there in the majority. If it were not – we would see these organizations thrive. They do not thrive. Pribncipally becasue their message is a negitivie one.

The MORE that is examined the more people of differing political permutations can agree on elemental issues..
We DID have periods where the Klan thrived in this country (1920′s, etc). What is important is the reasons that happened & the reasons they do not today.
Education (via organized programs such as the SPLC has) and the broad sweep of what electronic means of communication provide is to build a slow but steady influx of how we all operate in a similar fashion, emotionally, intellectually, spiritually, socially, etc.
Once a person knows that others feel the same and are not so different, the easier it is to loose the FEAR of a “different” culture, etc.

I believe that it is a disservice to “attack” a differing political (as opposed to racism) perspective with names & disruptive dialog. What is beneficial is to find a commonality. Through that commonality we can agree that all peoples deserve certain inalienable rights!
THAT is the starting point of progress that benefits rather than hinders communication.

By denying them the chance to peaceably assemble and exercise their freedom of speech? However misguided one might believe them to be, don’t they have those rights?

I don’t know when it was that the left became so vicious, hateful and tyrannical, but it is a shame, and it is un-American in the extreme.
