After reading the blogs, it looks like there are lots of HATE-MONGERS and RACISTS in America. I consider people like that to be UN-American.

    Marisa,

You’re so right! I cannot understand after all that’s happening, the cable show TLC will pay Sarah Palin millions of dollars for a documentary. I believe this part of the problem, television loves a ‘dirty fight’ as long as they are not one of the participants. In fact, Geraldo had his nose broken on live television by inviting these type people on his show. This was long ago, but, it should be a warning to others, ‘you can’t negotiate or reason’ with these people.

This past Sunday March 21, there was a similiar “White Pride” march held in Chicago. But the racist white supremacists were critically defeated right from the start. Heck, they barely even started their little march when they decided to retreat back into their holes. Thanks to the ARA of Chicago.

Recently we had our first KKK rally here in south GA with about 300 people in attendance. The rats are beginning to become bolder, of late.

When we hear of these marches, we MUST show up, too. I’m thinking tape over the mounth (how easy it must be to get into yelling matches), with simple message, maybe: “Hate Silences Everyone”, “I Stand for Peace”, “Justice for People of Color”.

I don’t know; what do we do?

Yes, it’s getting very scary out there. One simple thing EVERY person can do is, the next time you hear an individual use a racial epithet or tell one of those “jokes”, SPEAK UP. Yes, it can be uncomfortable, but it has to be done. Tell that person that their speech offends you, and leave it at that.

This is something for which we are all responsible. Standing by in silence lets the loud bad people take over.

You may, but I will just tell you I do not appreciate your PC restrictions on my speech and that offends me.

The term “politically incorrect” connotes (or attempts to connote) language, ideas, and behavior unconstrained by a perceived orthodoxy and concerns about giving offense to or expressing bias regarding various groups of people. Political Correctness is a wide ranging morass of constantly changing attempts at “political” speech. The speaker is attempting to “fit” a certain verbal playbook into a conversation.

No matter what is used in “rap” music or daily discourse, etc…. the term “Nigger”, “Kike”, or for that matter, “Whitey” are obviously offensive & meant to be so. Letting someone know how you feel about bigotry is NOT PC.
Non-biased compassion for one’s fellows is decency.

I am a black male with a graduade degree from a highly respected western university who was born and raised in the
State of Mississippi. Lets be honest with ourselves, no one likes to be on the losing side and have to listen to rhetoric
that is demeaning and arrogant comments about the matter. Mr. Obama needs to tone down the rhetoric and show that he can be humble and a gracious winner. It may not be possible to change the hate attitudes given the damage that has been done and the attacks on Sarah Palin and her family. People remember these things and this is their way of venting their feelings thru violence, if you are objective enough to give this a fair analysis. Lets be FAIR with each other!

A bunch of people I’ve heard, including me, are boycotting TLC and the Discovery Channel for signing the likes of Sarah Palin. If she stays off Discovery I may reconsider returning to viewing that cable network, but not w. TLC. Having her host a program on TLC or Discovery Channel for over 1 million dollars per episode is akin to have daughter Bristol as a spokesperson for abstinence. Will Sarah take out a polar bear family or terrorize wolves while flying around and showing viewers Russia from her house? She’s so anti-science, unless it predates Galileo, dontcha know.
As far as a bunch of yahoos marching around playing at being grownup and proclaiming “white power” or whatever, they are a joke. And they tend to be people I wouldn’t want in my neighborhood.

majii, I think the KKK people are often members of the TParty or TBaggies if you prefer a name for that bunch. There is a marked current of racism in the ranks of TBaggies. And, as we know, racists do so love the KKK. When I was growing up the Klan was active in the county, largely rural w. only a handful of towns and crossroad communities + textiles (now gone), where I lived. It just gave me a feeling of unease all the time. Those types seemed so nasty. Still do.

I am not boycotting Discovery channel. I want to hear her point of view. Are there any individuals left who are capable of being mature human beings and willing to treat other people the way they would like to be treated? Are you one of those individuals who carry a grudge and hate those people who think differently than you about how they should approach their lives? or will this be a hopeless situation in the future because of our failure to “agree to disagree” as long as we do not harm or demean the other person in any manner…………..HOPEFUL

Jack’s a racist who believes he has the unrestricted right to spew his hate speech.

    You don’t, Jack.

You racist thugs don’t have carte blanche to threaten people and push people around.

Judges out here will jail you for “fighting words”. Words Jack likes to spew. Hateful words.

Keep it up, Jack. You’ll end up in prison where you belong.

    Palin is a Q U I T T E R.

Her point of view is moot.

    Geez, McGee…

I’m having a hard time believing you are who you say you are, given the way you write.

But be that as it may, if you don’t see how Palin is callously disrespecting and degrading our President, and how she carries nothing but grudges,… and if you don’t see her as dangerous, ignorant, and rabble-rousing, then maybe you need to read up on or listen to her speeches.

But I for one am not happy with respected organizations giving her spewing credence, because many will believe her just because she is given that air-time, money, etc…

I do feel she is dangerous – she reminds me of McCarthy.

And I used to think of her as beautiful… but now all I see is a crazed, dazed, hating woman with little redeeming intellect, and one who is hungry for power, at any cost.

I am a white woman, and like my father before me, the thing that I respect most in all the world is intellect, respect, and the pursuit of wisdom and justice – this is exactly why I look up to Mr. Obama – and, it is also why I do not respect Ms. Palin… at all.
