The Truth Behind America’s ‘Civilian Militias’

The militias, which are dotted throughout the US and, according to recent figures, are growing rapidly in numbers, claim they are bulwarks against tyranny. The US Department of Homeland Security takes a dimmer view, warning of a ‘rise in Right-wing anti-government extremist activity’ as far back as April 2009 and a ‘phenomenon of violent radicalisation’.

    When these traitors attempt their revolution, they will find
    a lot of people opposed to them. They will have to kill me,
    however they choose to do it. I would like to see this
    insurrection ruthlessly suppressed. I can think of no better
    cause to fight in, no better reason to give up my life.

    Why does the right only pay lip service to freedom and
    democracy?

    Watergate
    George Bush and his warrentless wiretaps.I kept hearing
    news reports about what they were doing, and felt helpless.
    “What else are they doing?” I kept getting answers
    The last one I heard was that the NSA was bugging journalists.
    Now they want to overthrow the government.
    I swear to uphold the government against all enemies,
    foreign and domestic.

    It implies that Ted Kaczynski to the right wing militia movement.
