It concerns me that it happened the same day as the Glen Beck rally in DC. The thinly veiled gathering of Tea Party members tightly wrapped in their cloak of “Christian” belief reminded me of the days when the Klan would meet at city parks in broad daylight.

It saddens me to think some of my fellow Tennesseans are stupid enough to behave this way. No matter who did this terrible act, this is the same mentality that would burn a church where Jesus Christ is worshiped if those singing the songs of praise in the church happen to be African American. The Muslim community of Tennessee has the right to peacefully worship GOD as they see fit. My last name is Christian. I am a born again, Bible believing Christian and I believe GOD judges all men by their hearts. Not by the religion they belong to. I shouldn’t need to quote the many places in the Bible where it teaches this simple principle. The Republicans and the Tea Party seem to be whipping up more hate these days than anybody. Maybe Hatewatch needs to keep a eye on them. Start watching the Glenn Becks of the world and when these people say things like “All good Americans should rise up and use their 2nd Amendment rights to take back the government.”, they are no better than the skin head, KKK scum who promote violence as a way of accomplishing their agenda. Why can’t Hatewatch call out people who think that way for what they’re really saying. These people promote hate and would rather start a civil war… they would rather kill and murder than step up and help a fellow American help pay for a sick child’s medical bills. Hatewatch I like the work you’re doing but you could be doing a better job. If you’re going to keep a eye on and inform us about the hate groups that are out there promoting violence, don’t exclude individuals or groups just because they seem to be a little more established. There is no difference in the hate talk that takes place on FOX News or right wing talk radio than a rally that took place in Nuremberg 70 some odd years ago. Go to any cross burning and you will hear the good old boys repeating what they heard on the FOX Propaganda Network. There is no difference in a Nazi nut somewhere in Idaho with a web page and a Rush Limpballs type if they are both whipping up weaker minded fools into doing acts of violence.

First of all to my fellow Christian, Gary; I extend my thanks for your wonderful post and all the true comments you made. As for my post today, I am hear to admit to a mistake in my last post. I am a teacher and am on my students all the time about proper spelling. When posting yesterday I hesitated about the proper spelling of Glenn as in Glenn Beck. I force myself to listen to “christian” radio from time to time as my students have taught me to “know my friends well and to know my enemies even better”. Last Monday I listened in to hear their comments on the Beck rally Saturday. They had said several times that “Glen Beck” were “two four letter words” one could count on. They said that a few of times…”Glen Beck are two four letter words you can count on”. When I went to post I wasn’t sure how he himself spelled his first name…one “n” or two. But then I rememberd what I had heard on “christian” radio so I went with the spelling with one “n”. After more research I find that I, and they, were wrong. I can admit when I am wrong. Perhaps if we all could settle down and do the same, we could begin to live more peacefully together as Jesus would have us to do. Peace, and as always….keep on keep’in on SPLC!

Hey Gary, you’re right!…mr. glen beck is a psycho whose idea of america is preying on the weak minded and distorting historical facts of the founding fathers to promote his own philosophy!…..he’s a danger to any society whose citizens wants to make their country stronger by just uniting and working together, no matter their nationality and color!…….yes indeed Mr. Glen Beck should be on the top of the list of Hatewatch simply for the fact that he has a National Forum to spit out his hateful remarks!
