September 30, 2010

Scores of armed antigovernment groups have formed or been revived during the Obama years, according to law-enforcement agencies and outside watchdogs. A six-month TIME investigation reveals that recruiting, planning, training and explicit calls for a shooting war are on the rise, as are criminal investigations by the FBI and state authorities.

They are not the only ones armed. Not all social justice people are passivists. These are some scary people that exist only in their own echo chamber. Christian Taliban.

Sharron Angle, that MORON running for the U.S. Senate in Nevada, should LOVE this. But then, she is as crazy as are militia groups.

It is amazing how gun rights people so misread the @nd Amendment, yes it states no infringement on the right to bear arms. The part before that is what they ignore, a well regulated militia being necessary for the security of the state.
Now if that is not a call for registration so in a worse case scenario the people in charge know what they have to fight with and mount a viable defense.

Maybe SPLC will run an expose on the jihadi compounds that have been setup across the United States. Seems to me that they should get equal billing along with the militias. I would be happy to provide info on them if SPLC is interested.

This is to be expected in an increasingly polarized society. What most moderates/average folks find unfortunate is that all this radical material springs from religious roots or at least is inevitably justified on so-called godly grounds. The Christian evangelical right has nothing on the Taliban when it comes to inspiring it’s followers with bogus promises and inflamatory rhetoric. For a religion ostensibly based on the Bible, it’s amazing how the most basic inclusionary “grace, peace and forgivness” philosophy is completely discarded….just look at how they even treat ex-offenders in their communities!

In order to join a militia or hang with these people you have to have a view of history, civics discourse ability and an overall educational level that would embarrass a typical seventh grader.

Our educational system has produced these people and many the dumbing down and corruption of our schools hasn’t stopped yet.

The growth of the present militia movement can easily be traced to the increasing intrusion that lower class and middle lower class white males feel.

They see social progression, including the development of feminism, the idea of equality of all people under law and the broadening of children’s rights as a direct usurpation of the only areas in which they felt power.

That these militias are almost exclusively stocked with white males and that they proclaim “values’ of the past that link most to their reactionarism, just proves that point.

Lou Stouch, I completely agree with your statement. I feel like the SPLC should try and more widley expand its condemnations on a regular basis. People need to be alerted about the Jihadi and Black hate groups within America today as well as the White supremecy/nationalistic groups.. But unfortunatley, what i feel is most pressing and doesn’t get nearly enough coverage, is the WAR in the streets. We have a literal drug run war zone happening in inner cities all over the country, kids are riding around with Automatic wepons in their cars and killing each other.. Kids, seventeen, fifteen, twenty. Killing each other because they don’t see another way to make money or have a life.. They’re born into a vicious cycle and can’t escape. Very sad situation. pCe

i wonder if the SPLC will ever compare statistics of violent gun crime from inner cities/narco terrorists to white militia’s and see who is more of a danger, who is more violent and who causes more crime…

for some reason the only thing that makes these guys angry is when white males purchase guns legally and sit out in the woods peacefully isolated not causing any crime… im not sure WHY this concept makes them so uppity and angry…but it does….

come on guys, how many times can you cry wolf before you give up? their will never be any sort of massive organized 9/11-style white militia attack that will finally justify your anti-white-male bias.

No matter who assembles, for any reason, someone else will find something wrong with it.Prayer meetings have been outlawed in homes in San Diego.Parade goers have been attacked for supporting the parades theme. And so forth.I agree that moslem compounds should be exposed if anyone else is outed. Why should they be spared? But I tend to tkae ALL these sorts of “exposes” with a grain of salt.EVERYBODY these days have agendas.

I find it alarming, Kate, that more people, and not just white males, but people of every color and ethnic background, are not better educated in understanding the WHY of these militia’s. Thomas Jefferson said, “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” Yes, several of them -NOT ALL- are based on seeds of hatred, and I do not support those.

I do not want, any more than the next man, to be thrown into the chaos and bloodshed wrought by war, especially when it would come to a revolution -what many people would refer to as a criminal insurrection on this forum, I suspect-, but it’s coming time to put a stop to the cessation of our rights, one-by-one. People in San Diego not being allowed to observe their religion, or faith, in their own homes I haven’t heard about and suspect it’s untrue; it is un-Constitutional, and therefore against the laws of this nation, to make a law respecting the practice or free expression of speech, or of religion. If it is true, it will come to challenge soon enough.

Religion has been the cause of the greatest wars on this planet; absolutely. The freedoms you enjoy, on this forum, and in your daily lives, which are being whittled away by a Congress and a President who don’t care one iota about our rights as a people -and justify everything by crying “terrorism”-, were secured for you by an overwhelming majority of Christians, whose rights are under greatest attack right now. When people cry religion as the center of their argument, I attempt to understand precisely how ignorant someone, indeed, may be as a result, and give them their space. However, it must be realized that the greatest movements in history toward a better life for everyone, came about as a result of those wars and problems begun by Christians. Muslims, on the other hand, seek only to destroy; they are Ishmael, not Israel. Their hand is against every man, and every man’s hand is against them.

You don’t like the militia’s, you believe them to be dangerous, wrong-minded, and out of control? I think may want to pull your head from the sand…

What’s dangerous is 14 Trillion in debt the taxpayers didn’t ask for, indebted to China -a Communist state-, the fact that “too big to fail” companies have been bailed out time and time again, and yet continued to pay their people billions in bonuses, citing contract law as their excuse to do so, and then they have turned around and charged an even larger bill to us, the taxpayer. What’s dangerous is gas prices that are an average of $2.80 per gallon as of today, nationally, while the oil and gas companies walk away with $25 billion in profits quarterly, a very rough estimate of 25 million illegal aliens who are destroying out nation’s economy through education and healthcare, not to mention NOT paying taxes to help offset anything, and 2% of the population, supported by another 5% of the population who not only have this nation by the short hairs, but are forcing the people of this nation, because of threats of lawsuit because of so-called hate speech, and the government of this nation because no one dares to fight them, who are forcing this nation, its media, and its people, into servitude for their own ends. Homosexuality is a disease of the mind, it informs the “choice” of sexual orientation, not by love but by desire alone, and it’s pushing this nation into a quagmire.

What’s dangerous is people who believe the militia’s of this nation are the evil besetting us, rather than our own government, that white people are satan and have designed ONLY to oppress the other races rather than preserving the hard-earned right-minded liberties, morals, and standards we have lived by from the time this nation began until about twenty years ago, and then for thousands of years before that. What’s dangerous is liberals who believe too liberally, that tolerance is the best possible thing, when instead it will lead to our ruination.

A nation MUST preserve itself, its liberties, its rights, from those who would seek to destroy, or the obvious result will take place, and we will all be made slaves, with zero freedoms. I did not go to the Army, and to a war zone, to lose my rights while attempting to preserve the rights of others.

Wake up and smell what you’re doing to yourselves; liberty must be preserved by the blood of patriots and tyrants, and the militia’s, at this point, are become the patriots. I am a patriot as well.

    Good day.

    ~Paul
