    “There was no due process of law or a jury of my peers,” he said. “The right of trial is guaranteed by the Constitution.”

    If “Sovereigns” won’t abide by the current laws of this nation, why should they be able to partake of the rights of the Constitution?

    If you want to ignore societal laws and endanger yourselves, that’s fine. But do it in a “compound” so that when you choose to drive drunk, it doesn’t effect the rest of law-abiding society.

    @booklady

    Because the constitution does not serve to grant rights – it serves to protect the inalienable god given rights of human souls by framing the limits of the government (for the people, etc).

    Traditionally ‘gods law’ was known as common law. Common law requires an injured party. Someone has to be harmed or injured for there to be recourse to the law. Peace Officers exist to prevent breaches of the peace, not to harass the citizens as ‘law enforcement’

    If YOU want to tie yourself (and those who join you) up in the fear and bureaucracy that has become the modern legal system – then that is your right to do so. You ought to be able to form such a social contract if you so wish, it does not however – and this lies at the heart of the Sovereign movement (which is by no means typically violent or extreme – certainly not outside of the US, and yes it does exist globally – especially in Canada and The UK).

    It’s subtle and as the great minds at the SPLC cannot seem to differentiate between the movement and philosophy I describe and the actions of one or two violent lunatics leads me to believe they have an agenda – and you are drinking from their font.

    I write this now to encourage all to take the time to do some research on this one and do not just take the words of those who you may have good reason to trust. No one or no one organization is infallible and in this instance fear and willful ignorance is leading you astray.

    With love and respect to you all.

    A Free Man, Walking.
