We need a crackdown on Neo-Nazis here in the United States.

I agree, but unfortunately this is becoming a global issue rather than one centered on the US. There’s been an explosion of content available online for extremists who use the Net to communicate and recruit; so it’s critical to view this from a world view.
I applaud Medvedev’s calls for a crackdown, but some of these “Neo-Nazi” groups in Russia (and other parts of the former Soviet Union) are actually violent, reactionary ultra-nationalists aligned with his boss Vladamir Putin. I worry they’re becoming like the SA under Hitler in the late 1930′s – essentially thugs tapped by the ruling political elite to take on the dirty work of silencing opposition, attacking ethnic and racial minorities and intimidating (including beating and killing) journalists.
If we ignore what’s happening in Russia, we’ll look up and it will be a cancer entrenched in our own society.
