Company Sells Gun Oil Laced with Pig Fat to Deny Muslims Paradise

Silver Bullet gun oil bottles

UPDATE: The manufacturer of Silver Bullet Gun Oil, who goes by the name Midnite Rider, contacted Hatewatch late last night in response to an interview request. In the brief E-mail exchange that followed, he continued his attack on Islam and refused to reveal his identity. “I don’t have 24 hour full security detail like our president,” he wrote. In response to concerns the story raised, his only reply was that he hoped his gun oil would offend Muslims. “It is designed as an affront to an entire belief structure,” he wrote. “You have seen what the people this oil is designed for did to folks who draw simple cartoons or burn certain pieces of paper, right? Benefiting mankind does not exempt one from the wrath of the insane.”

A mysterious company called Silver Bullet Gun Oil has begun selling a line of products for automatic weapons that allegedly contains 13% liquefied pig fat for the expressed purpose of killing Muslims and denying them “a place in paradise,” Hatewatch has learned.

“No longer is paradise guaranteed to the so-called ‘Martyrs’ who die for Allah,” one YouTube video advertisement proclaims in text. “You are fools, on a fool’s mission. Lied to and led by False Prophets and Cowards. … You cannot win, and Will be consigned to Allah’s Hell for eternity if you die from a weapon using Silver Bullet Gun Oil!”

Consumption of pork is forbidden in Islam. So the belief behind the oil is that a person killed with a bullet that travels down the barrel of a gun greased in pig fat would be desecrated. Even if the gun oil is never used, the manufacturer boasts, its mere existence will terrorize Muslims and result in an effective “counter-Islamic terrorist force multiplier.”

It could also provoke violent backlashes from Muslims who feel their faith is being attacked. In early April, at least 20 people were killed in riots in Afghanistan provoked by Terry Jones, a Florida pastor who burned a Koran.

The oil’s manufacturer goes by the nom de guerre, “Midnite Rider – Servant of Yahweh,” an Old Testament name for God, but his real identity is unknown. Despite that anonymity, several things are clear: the oil is being marketed to soldiers and Marines deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, and it is designed to amplify the kind of anti-Muslim sentiment spread by such groups as Brigitte Gabrielle’s ACT! for America, Pamela Geller’s Stop the Islamization of America, and others.

Hatewatch recently purchased several bottles of the gun oil to determine if the company was real. The gun oil arrived in a box postmarked from Courtland, Va., a town of about 1,300 people 50 miles southwest of Norfolk. Included with the gun oil were decals and playing cards – the ace of spades printed with the words “One Shot, One Soul” to put on the bodies of dead Muslims. Also included in the package was a biography of a World War I American general who supposedly executed 49 Muslims in the Philippines with bullets soaked in pig’s blood.

Silver Bullet gun oil stickers

Midnite Rider makes the dubious claim that police tactical teams and “many members” of all U.S. military branches use the oil. It could not be determined if there is any truth to this claim. He continues: “Many, many of allah’s [sic] misfits, murderers and morons have been turned away from his gates of ‘Paradise’ due to their stench of swine,” he brags. Hatewatch today sent a message to the manufacturer through its website seeking comment, but did not immediately receive a response.

Several testimonials on the site are attributed to military members offering reviews of the product. One, written by a man identified as “Matt M,” begins, “Midnite Rider, you are a [sic] honest to goodness 100% USDA, grade AAA shining Fucking GENIUS. … This is the most brilliant mind fucking warfare idea I’ve ever seen.” Another testimonial is attributed to a supposedly moderate Muslim soldier. “Your product is great,” he writes. “Old school propaganda type shit with teeth.”

It is also impossible to determine if the testimonials are real, or if the company has made any sales directly to military personnel, but several online forums for firearms enthusiasts touted the oil. Boyd Collins, a civilian spokesman for the U.S. Army Materiel Command, which oversees the Army’s equipment, said he had never heard of the gun oil, though he conceded that a soldier or Marine could theoretically purchase the oil on his or her own and use it on the battlefield.

Since the war in Afghanistan began in October 2001, a number of companies have sold products to soldiers that have painted the U.S. military as party to nothing less than a holy war. Last year, the U.S. military was criticized after purchasing riflescopes from Trijicon engraved with Bible passages. Also last year, a military veteran who worked at Camp Lejeune, N.C., was turned away from post because his car was emblazoned with anti-Islamic decals, including a sticker that said “ISLAM = TERRORISM.”

Advertisements for the oil appear prominently on the webpage of the Arizona Citizens Militia (ACM), a border militia the Southern Poverty Law Center lists as an antigovernment “Patriot” group. ACM said the advertisements were placed there arbitrarily, but declined to comment further.

Midnite Rider offers a glimpse for his rationale behind creating the oil – and brags about covertly selling thousands of bottles since 2005 – in an essay titled “Political Correctness, Refuge of the Weak.” “If you do not put forth a strong front, instilling fear of retribution for acts of terror, you will be perceived as having weakness which can and will be exploited.”

  • Jason

Besides, you don’t need pig oil to send a terrorist to hell. All “Muslims” who practice terrorism are not Muslims. They go against everything they say they fight for. They kill not only civilians, they kill fellow Muslims too. If killing someone of your own faith in the name of your faith won’t send you to hell, then nothing will.

  • Contrary

I know this won’t do it, but there has to be some way to stop America from catering to the despicable cult of islam. I can’t believe the people who supposedly are intelligent who think islam is a religion of peace. It is anything but. America has turned away from God, so if we do one day get taken over by them, it will be our own fault.

  • COCOJO

The majority of you people are fools. The cult that is Islam is all about death – yours. So you want to play a game with these people? Defend and submit to their idiocy? Ok – go right ahead. As for me I’ll grease my guns with Silver Bullet.

  • Terry Marcum

I’ll buy it! Maybe a whole case of it. Now does that make me a racist. I think not!

  • Door_Gunner

I’m just wondering if this oil can also be used for cooking.

Wouldn’t that HELP this army rather than hinder them?

Seriously folks… when someone is trying to kill you, you really don’t give a damn what you use to stop them… and THERE ARE NO RULES.

  • Nessus

No one in their right mind, including Muslims, would want to get hit with a bullet or bullet’s from an A-4 or an Ak-47, regardless whether it had pig fat or poison on it.

No one bulletproof, not even martyrs.

    Nessus

  • Pickwick

The Sepoy Mutiny happened because the Enfield cartridges had to be bitten before loaded, meaning the soldiers had to INGEST pig fat. Getting shot with a pig fat covered bullet is not the same thing. Wadda maroon! Sad to say, in spite of that, this guy will make at least a moderate pile of cash off of fellow travelers and the historically impaired.

  • Beverly Kurtin

I just love idiots, they’re so much fun to watch them make fools of themselves. I have some wonderful friends who happen to be Muslims. Their opinions of the followers of OBL are the same as any other American; they loath the actions of the radicals as it gives all of Islam a black eye.

  • RLavigueur

    Marco,

If this is your idea of an effective psy-ops strategy, your knowledge of your enemy may not in fact be sufficient for winning a thousand battles. Or even one battle. As has been pointed out many times above, the idea that pig fat gun oil would deny a Muslim paradise is so laughably naive that I find it difficult to imagine how it could possibly make anyone think twice about fighting those using it.

It’s also amusing that you ignore comments by people who’ve actually been to the Middle East, probably because you’re so excited about your upcoming take no prisoners war.

I really hope you answer Ruslan’s question about the governments that the US is imposing on Iraq and Afghanistan, though I admit it might be difficult, such cooperation does have trouble fitting easily into the Clash of the Civilizations worldview that tries to fit the world’s politics onto a map more suited to a game of Risk than to one with thousands of years of complex history.

  • SAS

Yes, I agree that this incident is reminiscent of the 1857 Indian mutiny where the grenades were laden with pork and beef fat ( as per rumor ) which offended the sensitivities of Indian soldiers so much that many of them rebelled.

The difference is that many of the Indian soldiers were employed with the British army by their own free will, whereas the victims of the above product are likely to be killed involuntarily. Nevertheless, I do not see how being shot at by a bullet smeared with pork fat can be used against you if you are being judged after you die………

  • Todd

It seems to me, the “enemy” would be purchasing these pig bullets by the truckload.

Scratch that. Now that the word is out, they’ll probably be making their own.

Plenty of ignorance to go around.

I’m disturbed by the amount of acquiescing the American military appears to be involved in.

How much BS do you put up with from your ex for the sake of the kids?

I know. I know. My analogy is not complex enough.
    I’m just a dumb American.

  • Ruslan Amirkhanov

    @marco

” And for all you lefty- bleedin heart liberals….do us all a favor and READ the koran(not the abridged one) and it’s footnotes. There you will discover that a “good” muslim is loved by god for killing YOU and a “bad” muslim is one that probably wont kill you… Take this poll during combat? I dont think you will…..Hmmmmm”

Congratulations, you just topped Jackson for the most ignorant comment on this blog entry. Here you are telling us to read the Koran, when several of us have posted the Muslim halal requirements for food- thus proving that this “psy-op” is ridiculous(because coming into contact with pork involuntarily is not haram) and actually hurts the US military. Remember the part about how the US is trying to prop up a government in Afghanistan and how they are training and working with the Afghan army? Guess what religion all them people are?

And I’d like you to post the exact verses where the Koran says the things you claim here.

  • Tacitus ibn Batutta Zhang

    Geez!
I wonder if this crank (whose probably been doing too much crank) has ever heard of “The Indian Mutuny (of 1855 or 56)”?
All about greasing old school paper-wrapped powder/slug ‘catridges’ with Pig/Cow Fat; one being Blasphemous to the Muslims and the other to the Hindus in the ‘British Rajs’ (i.e.: The British East India Company – You Know, Patriots, the guys whose TEA we threw into the Harbor! Ooops, wait! I bet, unless your an SPLC Moderator, your Ignorant Rednecked Selfs have never heard of THAT, have you?) mercenary armies.
Say……that leads me to the subject of why they (allegedly) “Hate Our Freedom”!
Hint: It has something to do with Our History of DEPRIVING THEM OF THEIRS!!!

  • Mitch Beales

@marco “Know your enemy.” Thanks for introducing yourself.

  • Mary

Besides the fact the “emperor has no clothes” (this won’t ban Muslims from heaven), it comes from a disturbed mind trying to make money off hate. I hope the manufacturer and people behind this are exposed.

I would hope the US military will issue directives to our service men and women not to buy this junk or anything like it. It puts both them and humanitarian workers at risk, as has been tragically demonstrated in Afghanistan.

To Jackson: it does matter how the military conducts itself, it does matter how a life is taken, even during war. It’s called HONOR.

  • RampStrike

On a different tack, no cop, or soldier, going into harms’ way, no matter who the adversary is, is going to be stupid enough to pour mystery gunk from an anonymous website that allegedly contains something other than weapons lube into his weapon. It’d be the height of irony if some dolt got himself killed by a Islamofascist terrorist while trying to clear a stoppage induced by bacon grease.

  • marco

Each has their own opinion, but if it’s a war then take no prisoners- because they wont. If we’re gonna win this one coming, we had better know this enemy. And this is the best damn psy-ops idea Ive read in ages. True or not,it will get a rabid muslim to think at least for a moment. You may need this moment too…. Know your enemy, a thousand battles , a thousand victories. And for all you lefty- bleedin heart liberals….do us all a favor and READ the koran(not the abridged one) and it’s footnotes. There you will discover that a “good” muslim is loved by god for killing YOU and a “bad” muslim is one that probably wont kill you… Take this poll during combat? I dont think you will…..Hmmmmmmm

  • Jonathan

    ¸Ruslan Amirkhanov said (in part):

“If he doesn’t believe in Islam then his product is essentially useless and no better than any other gun oil, in which case he is selling based on a false gimmick with no possible advantage.”

That is not entirely true. His advantage is to try and stir up hatred or at least solidify it in the minds of those who feel as he (she?) does. The advantage for under educated nut jobs like this is in the division it sows…much the same way religion operates.

  • Louis Stouch

The rumor of pork or beef fat was propogated by the Russians. It was, after all, called The Great Game.

A great series of historically accurate (fiction) books, The Flashman Papers, covers the sepoy rebellion, Boxer Rebellion, Brits being kicked out of Afghanistan, Charge of the Light Brigade (Crimea) and much much more.

Perhaps the most entertaining – and educational – books I have ever read. Author George MacDonald Frasier, recently deceased, was brilliant.

  • RMac

    Jackson,
many of us here did serve, I did for 30 years. As a member of the intelligence community it was people doing stupid things like this, and torturing detainees in Gitmo that raised our blood pressure the most.

For fifteen years I told my fellow aircrew members that we didn’t torture POW’s because the first time we crossed that line there would be hell to pay by us. Photos are released from Abu Ghraib and one week later an American GI is beheaded. Our own Intelligence claims that over three thousand American deaths in Iraq are directly attributable to recruiting from Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo torture. Over three thousand.

Putting a pig grease bullet into the mix won’t keep anyone from paradise, but it sure could help recruit some more new insurgents. That kind of ignorant thinking turned Iraq into a shooting gallery of American targets. The maker of this oil is the real hater of US troops since he is the one putting them at greater risk.

This is not rocket science, it isn’t even paper airplanes, we have already done this.

  • Clay Williams

Of all the stupid things man has contrived, this one MUST be very near the top of the list! I have wasted my time just reading it!

  • Ruslan Amirkhanov

Another thing Jackson apparently doesn’t realize is that “our boys” fighting in Afghanistan are propping up and defending the Afghan government, which is made up of….MUSLIMS. It is very strange that someone who claims to have been in battle in Afghanistan(at least he implies this) wouldn’t notice that. For example, US troops are working with the Afghan army. Imagine what Afghan government troops would think if they found out about this gun oil and it’s fraudulent claims. They would come to two conclusions:

    1. Whoever made it is an ignorant moron, because Islam does not teach that involuntary contact with pork products(or any other non-halal product) bars one from paradise.

    2. The US hates Muslims.

  • Ruslan Amirkhanov

“The battlefield is NO PLACE for Political Correctness …. If you had ever been on one you would know this…”

Oh right, because killing people with guns without any trace amounts of pig fat in the barrel is “political correct”.

“This gun oil is not designed to kill people …. Thus the 13% PIG FAT….Get a clue….”

Get a clue? READ YOUR OWN WORDS, where you said “who cares how we kill them”? The gun oil you use in your weapon has nothing to do with how you kill someone.

“I am not going to debate this any further… You ALL seem
set on defending the very enemy we are fighting…”

Wait a minute, you were debating? I thought you were just trying to show us how ignorant you are. And if that was the case, mission accomplished. Last time I checked we weren’t fighting Muslims in general. This product, although made by someone who is clearly ignorant, is intended as an offense against anyone who is Muslim, not just those you decide to label “terrorists.”

” That is treason by any reasoning ”

Not by any reasoning, only idiotic reasoning.

“… I am pretty sure that the Patriot Act has some provision and the DHS is watching you pretty close…..”

It seems like you are proud of that. That’s why it’s so hilarious when people like you talk about “defending freedom”. Yes, we Americans have freedom of speech so we shouldn’t exercise it. Brilliant. And speaking out against bigotry and ignorance is now treason. Wonderful.

” You are all Liberals and where I am from that doesn’t fly very well …. Have a nice day….”

Where do you come from, Pakistan?

  • Walt

Ruslan @ 7:30 May 27th – brilliant reply, sir. I am a veteran from a family of veterans – a “gold star” family to boot. Although I (luckily) never saw combat, my dad did see a great deal of it in the South Pacific in WWII – he never talked about killing the enemy (but he undoubtedly did – was awarded Bronze Star) and was disgusted at the racism displayed against the Japanese. Violence begets violence, we have been meddling in the affairs of the people in the middle-east for decades, supporting one thuggish, corrupt regime after another, all for the sake of “black gold” and we got our nose punched for it. It’s about time we Americans regard those who inhabit foreign lands as equals and treat them with the same regard as we expect to be treated, and trade fairly for their resources. The corporate powers love guys like this “pig oil” jerk, as well as Jackson. To Jackson – the reason why the coporations love guys like you is because you can be so easily manipulated by hate – the great majority of Muslims around the world want the same things you & I want – a decent job that provides a reasonable level of comfort and security for their family & their children and give no thoughts to killing anyone – but the corporations would not like it one bit if we all started getting along (that would cut into their profits) so they invest in lying in order to generate hate and mistrust between people so they can divide, manipulate & conquer us. The “enemy” is not Islam, or muslims, or arabs – the enemy is Exxon.

  • Ruslan Amirkhanov

But it doesn’t really insult the first set of religious “nutjobs”; if anything it just makes them laugh at how ignorant their enemies are.

Therefore the product is fraudulent and SBGO is flagrant false advertising.

  • Jackson

Jackson, you’re the idiot. What enemy are you talking about? We’ve had a few. Most of my life, they’ve been “Godless Communists,” who never gave a damn about pig fat.

Good God what rock do you live under ??

Who cares how we kill them and what we kill them with just as long as we kill them.”

    Gun oil doesn’t kill people.

This gun oil is not designed to kill people …. Thus the 13% PIG FAT….Get a clue….

I am not going to debate this any further… You ALL seem
set on defending the very enemy we are fighting… That is treason by any reasoning … I am pretty sure that the Patriot Act has some provision and the DHS is watching you pretty close….. You are all Liberals and where I am from that doesn’t fly very well …. Have a nice day….

  • Jackson

Right, so anyone who doesn’t join the military to fight in a war they don’t believe in is a coward. Sure. Morale booster? How is bigotry a moral booster?

The battlefield is NO PLACE for Political Correctness …. If you had ever been on one you would know this….

  • Sam Molloy

I was told in school that in the Sepoy Rebellion the story of the animal fat was false, but spread among the other side by their own leaders to whip them up to a frenzy. I wasn’t there and history is written by the winners, so I can’t claim to know.

  • T

I love this product. It insult one set of religious nutjobs and separates another set of religious nutjobs from their hard earned cash. Great job.

  • Aron Levy

I forgot to write that I didn’t think this was the prudent place to discuss the nature of loading the weapons. More that the controversy existed at all.

  • Aron Levy

Just in case anyone was wondering, I am well aware of the likely trumped-up nature of the 1857 allegations, as well as the methods of loading and firing a smoothbore muzzle-loading musket.

I am an historian of technology specializing in arms and armor, after all :)

  • Reynardine

Jackson, you’re the idiot. What enemy are you talking about? We’ve had a few. Most of my life, they’ve been “Godless Communists,” who never gave a damn about pig fat.

Incidentally, that reference to the Sepoy Rebellion is correct. The greasing of cartridges that had to be held in the teeth during the loading process with unacceptable animal fat wasn’t the only cause of the uprising, but it was the last straw. Fighting a war, I should add, isn’t helped by provoking more of them.

  • Ruslan Amirkhanov

Oh yeah, and just to put Jackson’s uncanny intelligence in doubt…

“Who cares how we kill them and what we kill them with just as long as we kill them.”

    Gun oil doesn’t kill people.

  • Ruslan Amirkhanov

Aside from the bigotry here, the main issue is fraud. This company is selling a product claiming that it will strike fear into the hearts of insurgents and terrorists(who of course are always Muslim, right). However, any insurgent who finds out about this is on one hand going to laugh, because the idea is so stupid and according to Islamic faith you could martyr a jihadi with a pig launched from a cannon and he’d still end up in paradise, and on the other hand he’s going to be convinced that Americans are deliberately attempting to insult Islam as a whole, even if the insult is such a colossal failure.

So he’s selling this crap on a false premise. This is basically nothing but ordinary gun oil with an additive which does absolutely nothing.

  • Ruslan Amirkhanov

Sean, when you die the same thing that happens to Muslims will happen to you. Nothing.

  • Ruslan Amirkhanov

“You people are idiots. We are at war with an enemy who hides behind women and children and has no distinction of uniform. ”

Because your government decided to go over and get into a war with them, yes.

“Who cares how we kill them and what we kill them with just as long as we kill them.”

Some of us aren’t so obsessed with killing as we are doing something about the serious problems America is facing right now.

“It is apparent here that none of you have ever served or have known anyone who has served.”

I’d like to know how you made that deduction because I served in the US army, several of my friends ended up in Iraq and Afghanistan, and of course my grandfather served in the invasion of France in WWII.

I would suspect YOUR military credentials because I have studied military history for many years and I have yet to read any combat memoir or interview with people as kill-happy as you apparently are.

I think you do most of your fighting for freedom on Call of Duty.

“I take that most of you are cowards or you would have yourself or your kids in the military using SBGO even if it was just for a moral booster…”

Right, so anyone who doesn’t join the military to fight in a war they don’t believe in is a coward. Sure. Morale booster? How is bigotry a moral booster? If I were still in the army I would use the oil that they issued us. I remember 11 September vividly and I won’t lie that there was some excitement about the prospect of being sent overseas, but I never relished the idea of killing anyone in the sick way that you do.

I hope you never run into another loud-mouthed, insecure, violence-loving gun-toting malcontent like yourself in a bar some day.

  • Sean McCoy

Because muslims worship a non-existent god, they are going to hell anyway. It’s not this product that will send them there, it’s their lack of faith in Christ.

  • Jackson

You people are idiots. We are at war with an enemy who hides behind women and children and has no distinction of uniform. Who cares how we kill them and what we kill them with just as long as we kill them. It is apparent here that none of you have ever served or have known anyone who has served. Never in the history of America have so few ( 1%) fought so long for so many. I take that most of you are cowards or you would have yourself or your kids in the military using SBGO even if it was just for a moral booster…

  • venomlash

Word that, Ruslan. There’s additional precedent in the books of Judaism and Christianity as well; in the Old Testament, Elijah is said to have been fed by ravens while sojourning in the desert. Under Judaic law, anything handled by unclean animals (literally “torn by beasts”) is unclean, and yet Elijah is said to have been taken directly to Heaven by a flaming chariot. And in general, the Abrahamic religions make it permissible to violate a lesser commandment if it is necessary to fulfill a greater one.
This nut isn’t just guilty of hatred and xenophobia; he’s practicing faulty theology.

  • CM

“The gun oil arrived in a box postmarked from Courtland, Va., a town of about 1,300 people 50 miles southwest of Norfolk.”

This might be someone’s idea of irony: Courtland, formerly Jerusalem, is the seat of Southampton County, where the Nat Turner Rebellion took place. The slaves who rose up during that incident were tried in the courthouse in (today’s) Courtland, and Nat Turner himself was executed there. Local lore holds that his head was later stuck on a pole at a nearby crossroads, which is still referred to by some old timers as “Black Head Signpost.”

  • Mitch Beales

“If you do not put forth a strong front, instilling fear of retribution for acts of terror, you will be perceived as having weakness which can and will be exploited.”

If you have to resort to gun oil made from lard you definitely have a weakness and are being exploited.

  • Ruslan Amirkhanov

“Quran 2.173[7] which states: He hath only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and that on which any other name hath been invoked besides that of Allah. But if one is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits, then is he guiltless. For Allah is Oft-forgiving Most Merciful. ”

There you have it. If the seller truly believes that his product sends Muslims to hell, then he is wrong and they are in paradise mocking him. If he believes that Islam is false, then Muslim insurgents still have nothing to fear because they know their religious requirements better than him. If he doesn’t believe in Islam then his product is essentially useless and no better than any other gun oil, in which case he is selling based on a false gimmick with no possible advantage.

  • April Scheller

This is incredibly low. It reminds one of the callousness with which past generations attempted the complete elimination of Native Americans. It is so sickening to read. Wherever this dreadful evil takes hold it dishonors and shames those far from it. It is with the burden of a heavy heart do we love our nation when individuals whom know neither patriotism, nor honor, nor love of fellow man be allowed prevail.

  • Ruslan Amirkhanov

Muslims are even permitted to EAT pork products if they are in a life or death situation. So this product is a whopping big fail!

  • Ryan

Islamic doctrine CLEARLY STATES that if a Muslim comes into contact with porcine derivatives other than by their own volition, it’s as if it never happened. They certainly don’t get condemned to Jahannam.

  • IludiumPhosdex

In fact, it is my understanding that rumours about cartridges for the Pattern 1853 Enfield rifles issued to British troops in India being greased with hog and beef fat (offensive to, respectively, Muslims and Hindus) were largely responsible for provoking the Sepoy Rebellion; complicating matters further was the fact of the paper cartridges having to be bitten off by mouth.

  • Zombie

The people who made this are hopelessly ignorant.

The reason pig fat lubricated cartridges were offensive to the Sepoys was because of how the paper cartridges were to be used by soldiers – one apparently had to bite them before loading. It had nothing to do with being shot with a pig fat coated bullet.

Most versions of mainstream Islam are much more practical than most Americans realize. While Muslims are expected to make the greatest possible effort to conform to religious law, they are given flexibility to deal with extenuating circumstances, for example, the pilgrimage is only required of those who are able-bodied. No Muslim believes pig fat is going to prevent him from entering heaven, not even the craziest of fundamentalists.

  • Chris

I’m no expert on Islam, but (even for a religion) I think it sounds like nonsense. If someone is martyred, I think that would trump the object that killed him/her briefly touching something with a tiny amount of pig fat in it

  • Aron

This is absolutely disgusting. Nothing but.

This goes back to one of the main causes of the Great Indian Rebellion of 1857. From Wikipedia:

‘The Indian Rebellion of 1857 had diverse political, economic, military, religious and social causes.

The sepoys, a generic term used for native Indian soldiers of the Bengal Army, had their own list of grievances against the Company Raj, mainly caused by the ethnic gulf between the British officers and their Indian troops. The British had issued new gunpowder cartridges that were widely believed to be greased with cow or pig fat, which insulted both Hindus and Muslims…’ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C.....on_of_1857)

While there is no way to stop the sale of this regrettable product, we must spread knowledge of its existence, so that others might protest as well.
