Just one note. The website this would be murderer references is “Rosary of the Unborn” at http://www.rosaryoftheunborn.com — not “for the Unborn” which is a different site (albeit not unsympathetic to the message of the other).

These assaults on women’s rights are getting worse than they have been previously. It’s amazing to me how so many states are raping Roe v Wade. How can this be happening when we have a constitutional law on the books that allows abortions? Something needs to change. Someone has to challenge these obstructions to the law.

It seems clear that this guy has some mental health problems. There used to be (and still is, in some places) a legal doctrine of “deific compulsion”: you are, by definition, legally insane if you honestly believe that a deity told you to commit a crime. (The logic being that one of two things is true: either you are truly nuts, or you really did hear the voice of God . . . in which case, you can hardly be held responsible for defying a god, right?) What this guy seems to need more than prison time is some long-term inpatient treatment.

Indeed, they sought loans from the west and were encouraged to do so by the USSR from the time of Khruschev. This got the country into crippling debt which was one of the main charges against Ceaucescu’s regime.

That being said, these policies were the result of de-Stalinization and the direct opposite of the types of policies Stalin recommended in his last years.

Ceaucescu was a bumbling revisionist who wouldn’t know Marxism if it landed on his head. His rationale for banning abortion was that Romania supposedly had a labor shortage.

The divine messages posted this week [by "Rosary for the Unborn"] call abortion “the greatest weapon of mass destruction” and declare that it’s responsible for “economic distress,” natural disasters ravaging the country and resource depletion. “If you will stand corrected, many problems within the heart of the world will be resolved.”

Let’s not forget where the Romanian Communist regime under Nicolae Ceaucescu (1966-1989) banned abortion in the name of Hastening the Final Onset of Pure Socialism–never mind the clear and present danger such policies posed to a centrally-planned, state-controlled socioeconomic paradigm whose propaganda forever insisted that mass unemployment would be the undoing of capitalism, among other things.

Especially the prospect of a labour surplus as was forever seen in Communist thinking as anathema to its ideal of a Workers’ and Peasants’ State guided by the Marxist mantra of “from each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs.” (In particular the prospect of wholesale “hooliganism” and “social parasitism” among such who weren’t working.)
