More of us than not can attest to horrid things that happened to us as children. I could write a book on it and yet I have clients who had much worse lives than mine. That said, how old do you have to be before you stop blaming your childhood and act like an adult? This guy had great IQ, he had the ABILITY to change his life by leaving home like I did and starting over. He chose to stay, he chose to kill.

I’m opposed to capitol punishment, as I am to this man’s killing. (Once I hit my oldest boy for hitting my youngest boy and saw the light). And I agree with Mary – there is no excuse for harming another – I appreciate her winning struggle against violence. Well done, girl!

@Mary — my parents were extremely abusive, and I had a terrible childhood, but I got myself together, went to college, and now lead a happy and fairly successful life. Even if someone had the worst childhood imaginable, that’s no excuse to kill anybody!

I am tired of people trying to use the bad childhood as an excuse for their crimes. Many, many people, myself included have suffered childhood traumas and gone on to live happy law-abiding lives.

Don’t hold your breath. PA hasn’t had an execution since 1998.

Pittsburgh, and Pennsylvania in general, really suck. Can’t wait to get out of here!
