A trial date has been set ^[1] in the case of six members of the Alaska Peacemakers Militia and their plot ^[2] to murder public officials and police in the state. The judge set a trial date in April 16, 2012, for the group, which was led by Schaeffer Cox. Lawyers for the defense are still attempting to get the charges thrown out based upon the prosecution’s behavior, but the judge has refused the request.

A Denver man was charged ^[3] with a hate crime after confronting and assaulting two African-American men. Police are reporting that Christopher Bollnow, 40, confronted the two men, pulled a gun, made racial comments and attacked one man, causing lacerations to his head.The plea in the case of a 10-year-old boy charged with murdering NSM leader Jeff Hall has been delayed ^[4] until September 12 pending further psychiatric evaluation. The child is accused of shooting and killing his father while he slept.

A man in West Virginia has been sentenced ^[5] to five years probation for threatening his black neighbors and shooting their dogs. Bruce Poole allegedly threatened his neighbors in 2007 with a shovel and a gun, while using racial slurs, and later shot two of their dogs, leaving one to die. Poole originally received seven years in prison for a charge of civil rights violation, but the judge opted for probation.

A Fresno teen was arrested ^[6] for making criminal threats to a gay couple. Authorities say the teen saw two males holding hands and then began yelling slurs, ultimately challenging the couple to a fight.
