Anti-Muslim Blogger: Slain Norwegian Teens Were ‘Hateful, Privileged Brats’

By Robert Steinback on July 29, 2011 - 4:41 pm, Posted in Anti-Muslim

Those who oppose Israel’s policies deserve to die. Even teenagers.

That’s the only interpretation possible of ultra-right-wing Muslim-hating blogger Debbie Schlussel’s Thursday post, in which she notes that the day before Anders Behring Breivik paid a visit to their political camp a week ago and turned scores of them into corpses, the teenagers on Utøya Island had dared to hoist a “Boycott Israel” sign.

Schlussel’s blog, entitled, “Karma? Norway Camp Breivik Shot Up Celebrated HAMAS, Jew-Hatred,” will surely rank among the most coldly savage Internet postings of all time. Her faint-hearted condemnation of mass murder does nothing to mitigate the horror of her obvious, abundant glee over last Friday’s bloodshed

“These kids who were killed by a terrorist . . . well, they sided with Islamic terrorists,” Schlussel wrote. “Funny how Glenn Beck has come under attack for comparing the camp to a Hitler Youth camp.  Based on these pics, seems like he’s spot on, though he should have added, HAMAS Youth camp, too. As we all know, Nazis boycotted Jews and were Jew-killers. And these hateful, privileged brats at the camp boycotted Jews and sided with Jew-killers. I don’t condone violent massacres on innocent civilians, and I condemn what Breivik did. He is a terrorist just like the 9/11 hijackers, Hezbollah, HAMAS, and Nidal Malik Hasan [the U.S. Army major charged with killing 13 people at Fort Hood, Texas, in November 2009].  But what goes around comes around.  You support terrorists against innocent civilians in Israel, then you get attacked by terrorists who are upset with your support.”

One wonders why Schlussel even bothered to say she doesn’t “condone massacres on innocent civilians” when, in the next breath, she makes clear she feels absolutely no sadness about the victims’ demise – saying, essentially, that while she dislikes the wanton murder of unarmed children, the outcome of wanton murder can be considered righteous.

“For me, this is like Alien v. Predator.  I’m not sad for either side. And I make no apologies for it. Now these kids’ families know what it feels like to be victims of the Islamic terrorists whose Judenrein boycotts and terrorist flotillas against Israel they support. We don’t live in a vacuum.  I can’t feel sorry for those who support my would-be assassins. And I don’t get too upset when they face the karma that is their fate.”

What prompted Schlussel’s outburst was a report from Norway’s online news site Politisk of a visit to the Utøya Island Labor Youth League camp by Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Store the day before Breivik’s massacre. The young liberals greeted him with a demand that Norway recognize a Palestinian state – a position endorsed by Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton as well as many Israeli politicians, including current conservative Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The Labor Party’s youth wing, the Arbeidernes Ungdomsfylking, or AUF, has called for a boycott of Israel in support of a Palestinian state – a political approach to a political issue, and one that can’t fairly be compared to “supporting terrorists.”

But such a stance is a death-penalty offense to Schlussel, even though supporters of the two-state solution firmly believe – rightly or wrongly – that it will assure Israel’s survival. “I shed no tears for these HAMASnik campers with a Scandinavian dialect. Perpetrators are not victims. Sorry. HAMAS collaborators don’t get my pity. They never will.”

Death and suffering to those she considers infidels – regardless of guilt or innocence – has become Schlussel’s stock in trade. After the American raid that resulted in the death of Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in May, Schlussel wrote, “Rot in hell, Osama Bin Laden. One down, 1.8 billion to go” – meaning the entire population of the world’s Muslims – “many of ’em inside U.S. borders.” Schlussel also danced a jig after the sexual attack on CBS correspondent Lara Logan in Cairo in February: “So sad, too bad, Lara. No one told her to go there. She knew the risks. And she should have known what Islam is all about. Now she knows. Or so we’d hope. … How fitting that Lara Logan was ‘liberated’ by Muslims in Liberation Square while she was gushing over the other part of the ‘liberation.’ Hope you’re enjoying the revolution, Lara! Alhamdilllullah (praise allah) [sic].”

Did Schlussel not think for more than a millisecond before committing her stunning words about Oslo to the blogosphere? Kids who take a political stance – well informed or not – should be put in their graves for it? Their parents should thus be taught a lesson for their beliefs? It didn’t matter to Schlussel that the Norwegian victims weren’t killed by anyone Schlussel hates – that is, a Muslim – but by a countryman whom Schlussel would have heartily championed the day before his rampage. Innocents should die, she has concluded, because they don’t share Breivik’s and her rabid hatred. Period. Amazingly, both Breivik and Schlussel believe such beliefs put them on the high road.

New York Times blogger Robert Mackey described the AUF youth who gathered on Utøya Island – children so callously vilified by Beck as “Hitler Youth” and by Schlussel as “HAMAS youth” – as the “direct descendants, individually and ideologically, of the courageous young socialists who played such a vital role in the Norwegian resistance to the Nazis.” But context isn’t important to those like Schlussel who dwell in sewers. It stinks, no matter which way they turn.

Ms Schlussel’s true religion is Republicanism, not Judaism of which she demonstrates an
    amazing ignorance.

The murder of innocent people by terrorists
can never be justified even if you do not like
the views that these people held. That much is clear.

I think she is definitely unbalanced and deliberately says things calculated to shock and offend others and keep her in the limelight. For example, that vast numbers of Poles in WW2 assisted the Nazis in operating the death camps, an absurd allegation which
many survivors of the Holocaust have denounced.

As a Jew, I find her to be an embarrassment . She certainly does not speak for me. She seems to have no deep knowledge of history, politics or foreign policies and seems to find it necessary to attack other women such as female athletes or the reporter who was sexually assaulted in Cairo by a mob.

By the way, my female partner and I are owned by three cats and neither of us has
any desires directed towards our own sex.
There is a very long list of men throughout the
ages who loved cats, so that shows how little she knows or understands.

  • SAS

The supreme irony is that this odious woman is herself the descendents of Holocaust survivors.

  • skinnyminny

    MST,
I’m an ex-conservative. I’m black and never going back!

Interesting these words she used kinda ring a bell – “privileged brats.’ Is that why the minorities in this country lost all of their wealth? Is that why the minorities in this country is being targeted for getting ‘entitlements, because they believe it’s a privileged? Is that why the minorities in this country are in worst shape in almost a century? Is that it, they thought we were too privileged?

And this bit about being hateful, wow! Do they actually believe they can control a person’s feelings? This is more than being a ‘control freak!’ If you ask me, these are the people who sound like tyrants and dictators.

  • tyrone mixon

These people really need to make up their minds: hate Jews or love Jews.

  • krissy

To say a kid deserves to be collateral damage for some misguided nationalistic movement is insane. The mindset of Debbie Schlussel is totally psychopathic. I wonder what violence she is capable of justifying in her own life.

  • MST

It doesn’t matter what these kids believed — it was wrong to shoot them down in cold blood like this. I would say the same thing if they were actually Hitler Youth. This Schussel woman is crazy and I know it’s mean to make personal attacks, but she looks ludicrous with that bleached blonde hair and blue contact lenses. If she is so proud to be Jewish, why does she try to look “Aryan.”

Skinnyminny, I am prolife, anti-war, anti-death penalty and pro-gay rights and I do not condone shooting abortion clinic workers or anyone else (except in self-defense) And not all prolifers are conservative, Republican, male, or even white (I’m an African American female).

  • Jonas Rand

@Asher – I am not going to bother with you, if you can’t distinguish between the “Zionist entity” (Israel) and “Zionists as individuals” (and even then, I still consider you all racists).

And I can’t even manage to parse this, could you explain, Reynardine:

“You’re right, Asher. Hit(ler) shappens, and sometimes right on this board.”

    What is “Hit(ler) shappens”?

  • Ruslan Amirkhanov

“they did it when Arafat refused to give up on the dream of overpopulating Israel with the descendants of palestinian refugees(who are purposely not-integrated into the surrounding arab countries), and they did it again when their government reunited with Hamas.”

Wow, this sounds a lot like the rhetoric of anti-immigrant groups as well as neo-Nazis in the rest of the world. “They’re gonna out breed us! We gotta keep them out!”

  • Mitch Beales

No one deserves an “apartheid wall” and those who would impose one share much with Hitler. Israel refused to negotiate in good faith with Arafat and now they have Hamas to deal with. The post in Hatewatch had to do with Pam Geller attempting to justify the heinous acts of Anders Breivik. Asher Garber and Dmitriy seem to want to justify the equally heinous (if more understandable) actions of Israel. Israel must cease using civilian shields in the occupied territories and live up to agreements it has negotiated. The alternative, I’m afraid, will be the destruction of Israel as her enemies become stronger and more prosperous. That is something none of us wants to see.

  • Dmitriy

    @MITCH

You expect Israel to meet “resistance” with what? gift baskets?
Palestinians deserve the “apartheid wall” that keeps those peacenik suicide bombers from giving Israelis gifts of bloodshed. Palestinians at the beginning of every decade walk away from peace: they did it when Arafat refused to give up on the dream of overpopulating Israel with the descendants of palestinian refugees(who are purposely not-integrated into the surrounding arab countries), and they did it again when their government reunited with Hamas.
How many Israelis whose parents and grandparents had to flee the Arab world after 1948(there were 600,000 ended up in Israel of the 850,000) are calling for a right of return? It’s time to accept reality that Israel isn’t going anywhere and that.

  • Mitch Beales

Asher Garber, Jonas Rand may be many things but he is hardly a pathetic hate monger. It seems to me it is difficult to argue that the position of the State of Israel (“the Zionist entity”) is significantly different from “Those who oppose Israel’s policies deserve to die. Even teenagers.” considering the number of Palestinian teenagers who have been killed by the IDF and the entirely inappropriate level of force with which Israel meets any resistance. Like many who post here you seem to believe that any who abhor the excesses of the State of Israel are anti-semitic. We are not.

  • Reynardine

You’re right, Asher. Hit(ler) shappens, and sometimes right on this board.

  • Asher Garber

Excuse me, Jonas Rand, but I suggest you don’t speak for a people whom you obviously do not like, support, or even care for. As an avowed Zionist and an SPLC supporter, I see your comment on this board as a flagrant lie about me and countless others whom you have decided to wrap up in one package. You, sir, are a pathetic hate monger.

  • Ruslan Amirkhanov

Starr, this woman is a conservative. In fact, Zionism is a form of nationalism, and nationalism is pretty much always right-wing. So nice try.

  • Starr

Ruslan Amirkhanov, it is not conservatism that is responsibility for her views, it is fanatical zionism and jewish extremism.

  • skinnyminny

Poor thing! In need of a little attention, maybe! Hoping she will get more visitors to her site. Oh, I think I get it, the more hateful the more money you can take to the bank.

It is interesting how right-wingers can, on the one hand claim they cherise life and target abortion clinics saying life begins at fertility. On the other hand, they can praise the death, violent death of minority children.

Let’s see here, is this a case of class warfare – they were ‘privileged brats.’ And, they were ‘hateful,’ okay, so they are supposed to love being mistreated, discriminated against, target of verbal/physical attacks because of their skin color. In this case I would say, when right-wingers behave such as this, they get no respect. A case of people don’t respect you, they fear you – they do what they have to do, follow orders/instructions not because they like or respect you, but, because they fear you. No, forced respect, or respect by force doesn’t last forever – even pet animals know that.

  • red-diaper baby 1942

Speaking as a Jewish woman, and one old enough (70) to have had relatives in the camps, I conside Schlussel’s remarks to be beneath contempt. There ARE moral absolutes, and we ignore them at our peril.

  • Reynardine

Oh, and Karma. Let us suppse Karma dictates that if you live by hate, you will be born next time as everything you hate. Let us suppose, for example, that Hitler had to be born, next time round, as an American, a woman, and a Jew. Then…

  • Reynardine

She applauds the rape of women and the massacre of children, and she hates Nazis… why?

  • http://www.twitter.com/AronL Aron Levy

    Jeronimus,

Why do you even bother? There are at least three or four Jews and Jewish organizations on the Hatewatch list that come to mind. The Kahanists, Debbie Schlussel, Pam Geller, et c.

    Please go back to Stormfront.

    Aron

  • Ruslan Amirkhanov

“Dirty Debbie hasn’t been added to the hatewatch list — she’s Jewish herself.”

She’s been regularly featured in various SPLC publications as a hateful Islamophobe. What specific “list” are you referring to?

I also find it interesting how these European Islamophobes talk about women’s rights only when condemning Muslims, but then condemn feminism. It’s as if to say, “Don’t let them dominate you, let US do it!”

  • Shadow Wolf

While most of the recent discussion of Breivik’s misdeeds were focused primarily on his hatred of Islam, Muslims and the Liberal left. It is rarely noted that he also harbored the same contempt and scorn for women and the entire idea of feminism:

    http://www.thedailybeast.com/a.....women.html

He blames the feminism movement as a destructive force from within. Eventually,it may have triggered him to act out his vile mysogynic bloodbath by targetting the prettiest girl in the group.

  • Jeronimus

Dirty Debbie hasn’t been added to the hatewatch list — she’s Jewish herself.

Jews are incapable of the sin of “hate” as defined by the SPLC. Jews can be flawed, of course, but only white goyim can “hate.”

  • Ruslan Amirkhanov

Ever notice that there are two groups which seem to think Zionists=Jews, one group consists of the neo-Nazis and other assorted anti-Semites. The other consists of Zionists themselves.

  • Michael

Do a google search for Oakland county court in Michigan, and in the court explorer, type in Schlussel for the last name. Apparently she doesn’t pay her bills and stalks people

  • Jonas Rand

“Those who oppose Israel’s policies deserve to die. Even teenagers.

That’s the only interpretation possible of ultra-right-wing Muslim-hating blogger Debbie Schlussel’s Thursday post, in which she notes that the day before Anders Behring Breivik paid a visit to their political camp a week ago and turned scores of them into corpses, the teenagers on Utøya Island had dared to hoist a “Boycott Israel” sign.”

It’s also the disgusting interpretation of the Zionist entity itself.

  • Dave Babler

I knew she was hateful; glad she has been added to the hate watch list. I used to listen to her show in Detroit on my ride home from work everyday because it would keep me awake as I yelled at my radio. Not only is she hateful, she is extremely petty and immature. I once heard her say that any man who owns a cat is either a) a homosexual (she said faggot) or b) should be killed.

  • Ryan

This woman is completely paranoid. And I mean, completely. This is the woman who amongst other frankly absurd assaults on logic suggested that it’s tantamount to treason for an American to have an interest in soccer – because soccer is hugely popular in the Middle East.

  • Ruslan Amirkhanov

Yes, that’s it, attack the slain teenagers. That’s some real class there. Behold conservatism, in all it’s hateful glory.
