Miss. Teen Pleads Not Guilty in Hate Crime Death

A white Mississippi teenager accused of running down a black man with a truck pleaded not guilty to capital murder on Friday. Deryl Dedmon appeared before Hinds County Circuit Judge Jeff Weill, who set a Jan. 9 trial date and told prosecutors to inform the court by Nov. 1 if they plan to seek the death penalty.

    This was a heinous crime. I hope that justice gets served on this.

    This young man knew what he was doing and needs to pay the piper. No one should have to die in such a horrible manner. I hope justice prevails.

    The only free press and honest information that comes out of Alabama in through the SPLC..That’s it. This state still in the 17 Century.. What a shame, what a shame..

    This young man hates comes from some place..We all know which place..not need to say it.. The horrendous problem is that they are thousands more like him…

    Hopefully justice will not be blind..

    Why is this person the only individual charged. If one person robbed a bank and there are people awaiting in a vehicle (who can be unaware of robbery) all are charged.

    All these teens should be charged in the demise of our African American brother…..
