Hence the hate crime/incident statistics and maps are skewed. Speaking as a victim of hate crimes myself, in a Northern Sacramento suburb, one that recently hosted the Skinhead leader David Lynch, I am constantly belittled, even threatened by the local PD when I call in yet another hate-incident (their response: "what do you want US to do"). And, when I insist they view year long patterns of malicious harassment without any provocation - they outright refuse to do so. A local attorney said this PD is racist. Since I am the only person of color, or a certain religion, etc. (as I told he police "a convenient one-stop shop for the hate minded") and the only person in my subdivisio/HOA/Park who has to call the police about these incidents, I am getting really ticked off at paying taxes for what is essentially overt police enabling of those that harass me. (The harassers see the police are called, and see the police leave doing nothing, except the proverbial wink and nod to them). The recent murder of two Sikhs in a Sacramento suburb was initially denied status as a hate crime. Victim family outrage changed that but it did not come from local LE.
