The saddest part about cases like this is that often the individual people he duped wind up with harsh sentences for tax evasion – sometimes worse sentences than the promoters because they have no one to give up for cooperation points. Yes, as CM eludes to, you can’t con an honest man, but seriously – where was the IRS and state regulators? How did it reach the point where it was a multimillion dollar fraud?

The “assemblies” had better hire an auditor to check their accounts.

Obviously, Garrison (“convicted of mail fraud in 1984″) is just a con man, and sovereign citizenship is the scam — designed to dupe simple-minded extremists (but I repeat myself) into thinking they’re putting one over on the Zionist World Order or whatever. His victims are doubly victimized: ripped off of whatever fees they paid him for screwing up their taxes, and then faced with possible costly penalties from the IRS.

Oh, and to “eh,” if you have any knowledge of history and aren’t just spouting baseless ridicule, you’ll know that it was the loss of its ability to collect taxes that ultimately doomed the Roman empire. So it’s no wonder taxes, unlike jaywalking, are a major target for the anti-government mob.
