The entire community is reeling. I have mom friends who reported their children having nightmares or afraid to sleep alone last night. My own children were afraid on the usual walk to school this morning. The younger children have early release every Weds. and were kept at the school three hours late, which I am thankful for as we knew they were safe. Buses were diverted to the bus garage with around 100 elementary aged children waiting for families to be notified. In the afternoon many buses weren't running and there was confusion as to how to get middle school children out of the school. Same with the high school. The news channels did a horrible job of updating so we were in our homes left to wonder if this man was dead, on the run etc. Helicopters buzzed overhead throughout the evening. Prayers were said for our firefighters and Police. Stores and other business' were shut down. It was a scary and stressful day. As the parents of adopted ethnic minority children we are left to wonder, how many more of these sick Bastards are there, here in our midst. I am fourth generation in this little town and I have been shaken to the core. I hope this sick sick individual rots in hell. I live less than a mile from where this occurred. What's appalling, is that they go on to get married and have children. Then later, they get their entire family involved in such senseless tragedy.
