To your simple, ignorant mind, they are all “Chinese.” 91% of China is ethnically Han. The rest consists of about 56 or so ethnic groups from Mongols, to Turks, to Russians and Tatars. National minorities are not subject to the one child limit. They get autonomous rule in many areas both large and small, and they also receive preferential placement for higher education and some jobs(that’s right, AFFIRMATIVE ACTION). I was in China recently and the people were extremely kind to foreigners everywhere we went.
