I read the first volume about 20 years ago, and it was so sickening I couldn’t read volume II. Then about 3-4 years ago I re-read volume I and then volume II. I encourage you to read it. It will give you insight into the system of slave labor camps (gulags) under Communism. I can’t debate you here if you resort to name calling. You need to learn more about history first and then we can have a discussion.

There is one scene in that book, it’s a sickening scene, where they load people on to barges on the Ob river (just east of the Urals) and take them north and then just throw them on the ice above the tree line and say, “ok, this is your new gulag”. And there’s another section later where the gold minds in the Kolyma region are describe, and the horrible working conditions there, and how they used food, especially hot food, to control people. It really made me cry. As a grown man the last and only other time I cried was at my mother’s funeral. Why no prosecution of former slave camp bosses and gulag guards I ask myself? Why no Nuremberg type trials I ask? The Soviet Union collapsed in 1990. Many of these men are still alive. Yet former Nazis, who are old men in their 90s like John Demjanuk, are STILL hounded. Lazar Kaganovich, the ‘butcher of Ukraine” lived to the ripe old age of 94 and yet he was never prosecuted for the deliberate Ukrainian famine he orchestrated.

Jason, I saw that video. I still say it’s not enough of a good defense for George Zimmerman. Besides, if someone was following or stalking you just because you “look suspicious,” wouldn’t you confront the person and ask why he or she is following you? Zimmerman was the aggressor from the beginning and followed Trayvon Martin after the 911 dispatcher told him not to. If there was a scuffle and Martin was defending himself, the Stand Your Ground law should apply to him.

Yes, Tobias A. Weissman, Zimmerman is innocent until proven guilty, but the evidence isn’t looking up for him. That’s why this case should tried in a court of law, not a court of publc opinion. Try not to get riled up by the media. They’re only looking for ratings.
