Maggie Gallagher of protect traditional marriage fame

She has not one but 2 illegitimate children and her supposed now husband has never been seen

She got called out in the MD legislature for not wearing a wedding ring and made the lame excuse that she had arthritis in her hands.

I have that two and wear two rings – one for my 22 year old marriage opposite sex, and another rainbow striped ring for my gay friends who finally now can marry in 3 more states including MD.

Organizations such as yours have always popped up during times of Social change, to promote hate and/or fear. This time of Social Change is no different. What is disgusting is that you openly look for people of color, such as myself, who have just lately fought for Equality of treatment; and as recent events in Florida have shown – that fight still continues. Not just for Black men but for all people of color. And you want us to work to block another group’s right to have Equality of treatment. The Irony of what your organization is attempting to do is contemptible as well as contrary to what America is supposed to stand for. Don’t use people of color as a tool to promote your own bigotry.

It’s worth knowing, for the sake of historical context, that Anthony Comstock’s New York Society for the Suppression of Vice (as was notorious for its anti-pornography campaigns of spurious value in the late 19th and early 20th centuries) had some of the biggest names in American business of the times (Peter Colgate, for one) among its major donors.

The whole being excused as one with the maintenance of their natural power and dominance.

At least up to a few years ago, it would have been perfectly legal for a 50 year old man to marry a 12 year old girl in Louisiana with the parent’s permission (I think it was Louisiana, but maybe it was Mississippi). The minimum age of marriage for girls was 12. So apparently 12 year old girls getting married to men are “traditional” marriage which is what these people claim to support.

Also marriage where the wife is legally property of the husband, marriage where the husband uses cows to purchase the wife from her father, marriage where the husband pays cash for the wife, and arranged marriages where the infant daughter is promised in marriage to a man.

NOM is sponsoring a boycott of Starbucks over their endorsement of marriage equality. In a ridiculous editorial, Maggie detailed how the damaging thing was the fact that Starbucks endorsed -any- position, and that which one didn’t matter, it was unforgivable. I wrote to Maggie, and am not suprized that she hasn’t replied:

Maggie,
If Starbucks had proclaimed that “traditional marriage” was core to their corporate brand, would you be irate about their decision to associate their corporate brand with a political issue? If they gave a million dollars to NOM, would you boycott them for this breech of their promises not to subsidize political causes?
Of course not. You’d applaud their humanity and wisdom and rally for them. So all your puffing about neutrality and serving all customers well is just that, situational ethics.
Tell me I’ve got it wrong. If you can write that lie…

Most cases of familial child molestation I have heard of were father-daughter or other male relative-little girl. Most reported child molestations, regardless of the sex of the victims, have male perpetraters. Following NOM’s reasoning, the reproductive roles of men should be confined to insemination, and thereafter, no man should have custody of a child. Yet the people who oppose gay marriage are often the same ones supporting patrias potestas in a traditional marriage. Think about it.

As a Lexington, MA native (this was one of the two towns referred to), I can proudly claim to have been taught how to have lesbian sex in kindergarten. Even though I was a five-year-old boy. And I still thought the word was ‘bagina.’
