As a former racist now reformed, I know the mind concept he has and it was neither a joke or just a Halloween Prank, I assure you it is his real views! http://racistnomore.blogspot.com

If you look at the pictures it is obvious that it is a costume and he was many years ago. Perhaps a very poor choice of costume but to attempt to associate someone as a Klan member because of a poor choice in Halloween costume decades ago is very dirty politics. When I was 11 I dressed as a nazi for Halloween. To an 11 year old boy who loved history it was a cool costume (nazi are scary and evil, right?) In retrospect it was probably a poor choice but to claim I was really a closet nazi would be a real reach.

Was it a bit unfair for SPLC to post a picture from an actual KKKlowns parade rather than the picture of the Sheriff and his buddy at the party? Granted it was every bit as stupid as the English Prince going to a Halloween party dressed as a Nazi, but the inference of the photo with the article was that he was part of the parade shown. I expect better from SPLC.

KKK Sheriff if the shoe fits wear it! He is what he is… the mind set is there or he would not have worn the outfit! I have been exsposed to many of people like him, and he is a closet KKK at the least, but a closet KKK is still KKK!

NBC News is the one that posted that photo, not the SPLC; they simply linked to the NBC story.

I agree with SSHEP, it is his real beliefs because he would never be holding a BLACK balloon in such a manner while wearing a Klansman hood and robe. I hope I’m not the only one that picked up on the holding of the balloon!

To kbrown225,
Would you have worn the Nazi costume for a Halloween party at 25 or 26 years old while working for a state law enforcement agency? How do you think that would go over with your peers?

@kbrown225 … David Duke wore a Nazi Uniform at LSU as a Student many years ago. Look at him now.. same ole Nazi.
