I have a copy of the book, “Race, Evolution, and Behavior”, by Rushton. He presents many facts on topics ranging from brain size, IQ, and early childhood development. I urge you to get a copy, read it, and draw your own conclusions. I watched the debate between Rushton & Suzuki from, Suzuki was very emotional and presented no facts. Blacks do indeed have smaller brains and lower IQ’s than whites. If leftists and egalitarians disagree, they should perform their own experiments and publish in the reviewed scientific literature. Emotion cannot drive science. We must look at facts. A TV show, like the Geraldo Rivera, also has no credibility, and is not worthy of reference.

Of course there is still prejudice and discrimination. However I am used to working for responsible companies that realize how non productive it is to limit anyone. This frightened certain male “experts” to come up with the construct that female hormones limited brain growth, so all bright female students were flatchested, while the bountiful bosoms mainstream American men then panted over necessarily belonged to dumb tweets. As one of the former class, I was put through a deal of grief until the Cubans, God bless them, came to town, and made it clear that handspan waists and round bottoms were what they considered the apex of femininity. I actually caused a few accidents on Calle Ocho when my car broke down and I had to bend over the engine. In all events, I suspect that was the “expert” Rush was quoting.

Lew, you adorable Dum Dum Lollypop, i’ve heard that scientific research has shown that while the average woman is more intelligent than the average man there is more spread in intelligence among men.

Scientific research has also shown that men are more likely to engage in impulsive and risky behavior than women. That is why the vast majority of criminals are men.

i have no idea if those above two items are true, but it seems that according to reputable scientists there may be legitimate gaps in intelligence and impulsiveness, degree of risk, etc. But they are really gender gaps and there are some legitimate biological reasons why women who are the only people able to give birth and perserve the species to evolve to not be stupid and to not engage in risky behaviors.

Anyone with an IQ above a piece of toast with butter and strawberry perserves on it also knows that poor people are simply more likely to commit crimes. i have no idea who originally said this, but it has essentially become a legal maxim that “the law in its great magisty punishes a poor man and a rich man the same for stealing a loaf of bread.” That is one reason why white nationalists and white supremacists commit so many crimes.

It’s been theorized that females alone can perpetuate the human race without actually requiring the anomalous and rather strange male offshoot of humanity.

In fact gonochorism is a rather primitive form of biology, and the theory that males are needed to provide biological diversity has been shown to be a rather weak argument, given examples of many other forms of life. The female, as carrier of the ovum and solely responsible for gestation, is really the only human required for reproduction, and the male, well, can be reduced to an appendage.

Parthenogenesis of the ovum, through the default gender, the female, would in every way be as vibrant and diverse genetically as life without the male. Perhaps with continued scientific research such as this, male participation in reproduction will become increasingly useless, especially with regard to brain degeneracy as evidenced by the squalid eugenic arguments of Lew and Ezra. Though, we might still keep around a few of the more _robust_ specimens for amusement.

Because in modern times, poor white men typically live in rural areas. Poverty alone isn’t the only factor to consider; there is also population density. That is why, for example, when New York and Chicago were full of poor white immigrants, crime was even worse than it is in places like Harlem today.

Lew, in addition to the flaws in your “reasoning” that other people have mentioned, you make the mistake of believing that conviction rates have any relationship at all with rates of committing crimes.

You also fail to comprehend the impact of the significant difference in cost of living between urban and rural areas as it relates to crime. Urban areas tend to have a very high cost of living which leads to crimes of survival being the dominant form of crime. Rural areas tend to have a very low cost of living but nothing to do which tends to lead to crimes of boredom being the dominant form of crime.

And of course, urban, suburban, and exurban areas also have many crmes of greed but its pretty clear that Lew doesn’t care about them because the people committing those crimes tend to be rich white people.

So what about the white men with big ones and black men with average ones? Did they have to take a proficiency exam?

A few thousand years ago it was observed hate and lust arise from ignorance. From what I am seeing not much has changed…

In addition much of the crime that happens in the inner city is drug crime. Drug trade in the inner city is easier to spot, and often takes place on the street where it can be observed by police. In the suburbs, drug dealing is done in private homes or apartments away from prying eyes.

Indeed there is a link but it has more to do with not getting desired sexual contact rather than the opposite. As the commentator “Vili” proved in another thread, many of these white males believe that white women are “their women” and they get really upset at the idea that black guys, and specifically black guys, are somehow stealing their women away. I’m sure if you look at the statistics white-black relationships are probably not very significant at all. Most dating is still pretty intra-racial(as is most crime, incidentally).

What these losers need to understand is that the reason they are alone is not because the media makes white girls chase after black guys. If they lived in an all white country, assuming they don’t change their behavior, they would still be alone. Every once in a while you hear stories about some of these morons moving to Eastern Europe or Russia hoping to find a woman who can stand them. Many end up getting severely depressed and butthurt when they find out that rising living standards mean that ordinary women have no problem saying ‘no’ to them. Typically they resort to prostitution until they conclude that even Eastern Europe has been “ruined by the Jew media” and heading back home with their tail between their legs.

Well, “Lew,” if all you’ve got in response to Cernovsky’s presentation of verifiable facts is this combination of ad hominem attack and reductio ad ridiculum, you’ve got nothing. There is none so blind as he who will not see.

These are some facts regarding racial differences:

1.) Blacks have smaller brains and lower IQs. 80 cubic centimeters smaller than for whites. Which is an enormous difference. Scientists have known for a long, long time that Blacks have smaller brains on average
2.) There is a structure in the lower mandible called the simian shelf which exists only in Black. Whites do not have a simian shelf. Yet it exists in the great apes such as gorillas.
3.) The bones of the nose of Blacks are fused together, as with the gorilla.
4.) The ears of blacks are low set and smallish, as with gorillas.
5.) Blacks have prognathous jaws.
6.) The races have different gestation periods. Black babies mature more rapidly. Black girls have their first menstruation at an earlier age. Black teens mature more rapidly than white teens.
7.) The eruption of the 4th molar is more frequent in Blacks than in whites. Even the primitive 5th molar is not uncommon in Black adults. With whites, it almost never occurs.

These are just a few that come to mind. I’ll post more if you like. But read Rushton’s book. You’ll see I’m right.

Regarding your statement No. 1, if you had followed the link in my first comment, you would have learned that:

In other words, even Rushton’s own research and sources contradict his claims. He wasn’t doing science, he was concocting propaganda. But I suspect you already know that.

In fact, if you look at canids, equids, bovids, or anything else, those from hot desert regions will have smaller, lighter skulls, longer ears, necks, limbs, and bodies, slimmer trunks, finer bnes, and longer, slimmer metapodials than those from arctic regions, and it does not signify any intellectual difference at all, but rather the ability to radiate or conserve heat, just like coat quantity and quality. Conversely, the small, deeply-rolled ears of a Saharan or Sahelian human are a protection against the sunburn that make owners of big, pink, weathervane ears miserable in hot climates. Likewise, denizens of hot climates carry less subcutaneous fat so that they will radiate heat more quickly, and to people used to seeing baby fat, this can make children look more mature. The only differences in gestation times among mothers the world over are those caused by differences in maternal health, nutrition, and general treatment.

It appears you agree with me. These differences breed true generation after generation. Another words, a mating pair of Black Sub Saharan Africans, transported to northern Europe, will not suddenly produce offspring that are exact duplicates of northern Europeans in a single generation.

You mention skulls, ears, necks, limbs, and bodies, trunks, bones, body type, coats (hair). These are biological differences between the races, that are not due to nutrition, but are genetic. For example, the hair of blacks is kinky and dark. That of the European is blonde/red/or brown and straight. This surely is not due to nutrition. A Black mating pair with a different nutrition, will not suddenly develop the straight blonde hair of the northern European within a single generation.

Thus you agree with me. There are genetic differences between the races. Race is not just a “social construct” or some sort of illusion. Race is real. It is biological. A genetic reality. Not due to just nutrition. The black kinky hair, the smallish, low-set ears, etc …

Your fall-back position seems to be these genetic differences are “trivial, superficial, or merely cosmetic”. I will address these points in a future post. But for now, I merely want to make clear my position that race is NOT merely a social construct. It is real, and genetic in origin. And it appears you agree.

It occurs to me, Kiwi, I would even go so far as to suggest that the very notion of individuality is to blame, since the idea of a separate self, that is a fixed, unitary identity separate from the universe, is rooted in ignorance.

The more we attempt to live according to any idea whose sole purpose is to protect individuality, the greater the despair one feels that the mad bolus of social forces has completely gone beyond anyone’s control. Therefore our comprehension of the universe is one where we feel compelled to act out violence in an effort to regain control of our own lives. Neo-nazis are but one manifestation of this deeper social disorder of violence.

Golly gee — I didn’t know that the Habsburg Dynasty — you know, the ones with the protruding lower jaw and lip (the Habsburg lip) were black. Is THAT why so many of the Royals relied on white lead makeup? Why Marie-Antoinette wore a powdered wig?

Also, in regard to the tooth thing — I have less teeth than the normal person. Does that mean I am “Superwhite?” Even though I have some black blood from way-back-when?

In regard to IQ tests, all I can do is groan. Back when I was in high school I got interested in the topic, and, after a conversation with a psychologist friend-of-the-family, he administered 11 different types of IQ tests to me, all of which were tests that were accepted by Mensa. This was a fun exercise for both of us, in part because I had only just begun reading at the age of 14 (I am seriously dyslexic) but have always been a knowledge sponge with a good memory. Also, I had been reading for three years at that point, so I had pretty much caught up to my peers.

First, let’s say, some of the tests were horrendously biased in terms of culture and class — but since I was an upper class white girl, they were biased in MY favor. Second, some of the tests involved certain problem solving that I simply could not do (I have since learned techniques for laying out certain types of problems in such a manner that I don’t lose track of up and down, right and left — you know, the little things). But other tests didn’t have problems that butted up against my own peculiar perceptual problems, and of course, I did swimmingly on those.

So, what did we find after wading through all of these tests? On the two that included many of the types of problems I simply couldn’t do, my IQ was judged to be 116. Not bad, actually.

On the rest of the tests, my IQ ranged from 145 to 184 — several sigmas off of 116.

Personally, I think the 184 is ridiculous, and the 145-150 range is more in line with reality (which still qualified me for Mensa. I joined, and then quit after a few years when I realized that in the case of many of the members, their IQ was the ONLY thing they had going for them, and that they pissed and moaned constantly about how pay should be determined by your IQ, and you shouldn’t be relegated to the stockroom for intractably bad social skills and body odor).

I honestly don’t know why anyone relies on IQ tests — even those administered one-on-one. The cultural bias is one thing that can easily tank someone’s score, but perceptual problems, such as the types I have (although I have come of with tricks for getting around most of them) can also shave points off so that someone who is, in fact, very bright, is simply passed by. I suppose their ownly real utility is when the demonstrate that someone who isn’t particularly talkative has, in fact, been absorbing far more knowledge than anyone knew — so maybe the adults should help him or her do more.

The ways in which people learn a varied. My school district knew I still couldn’t read when I was 12, but this was in the 60s, I was a girl, and I came from a rich family, so everyone shrugged. This still makes me angry, but because I lived in a knowledge-rich environment (and my grandfather screamed until my parents packed me off to one of the first schools that worked with dyslexics in the country), I made it through.

The real tragedy is how many people of any race or gender may be written off because of dumbass IQ tests, and fail to live lives that could have been far more fulfilling if they had been given a bit more help learning what they needed to do to learn HOW they needed to learn.

Certainly, Ezra, some differences are genetic. You would always have been about as brilliant as George W. Bush, for example, but it took a special upbringing to make you as honest as Mitt Romney. Nonetheless, in your case, I cannot rule out fetal alcohol syndrome as being formative in both.

I have blood relatives overseas who grew up in postwar Eastern Europe, and there is a definite difference in how we aged, the soundness of our teeth, and several other details. Similarly, the same stock, exposed to greater or lesser amounts of sunlight, differences in day length and temperature fluctuation, etc., produce different phenotypes. The lesser sunlight of northern lattitudes delays bone end closure and sexual maturity, producing greater height, longer faces and chins, and less pronounced secondary sex characteristics in the skeleton than in someone from the same family who grew up at a more southerly lattitude. The kind of face we think of as “English” – long, rectangular, widemouthed, and pinched through the cheekbones J is quite rare in English stock from the U.S. An African American who grew up in a Northern city is measurably more robust than his cousin from Haiti, as a rule. I grew up in Florida and am shorter, rounder, and physically stronger than my full sister, who grew up in Chicago.

And then, we have self-assortation, to which Erika has referred. Rarely do intelligent people suffer fools gladly for long, and they are unlikely to breed with them. I hope your future is not too bleak because of this, but it doesn’t look promising. Well, toodle-oo…

His list of physical racial differences may be accurate, as Forensic Detectives supposedly can identify race and sex from skeletons. I say, so what? Should we have a different curfews and police carrying color charts? Different laws and sentence recommendations? Our Constitution may have been written for White property owners, but the concept of equality of opportunity, not guaranteed equity of results, seems to work better than any other system in the world.

I’d be bored to death if everyone looked alike. That’s why a flower garden is infinitely more interesting to look at than a hedge. It’s usually more ecologically balanced, too.

An aside: having once heard tell of how a false eye is/was hand painted, enameled, what have you, I am reminded that there is/are absolutely no blue pigments in the human body: and that blue eyes are recessive.
Every blue eye you see is compiled of grays, browns, greens, yellows, etc. and the interaction or reflection of light from the iris: and to the eye of the beholder as the beholder might actually not be able to see certain colors of the spectrum, or any at all for that matter.

This thread also brings to mind the concept of previously labeled “Idiots” Savants.
This encompasses all races, creeds, religions, geographic locations… the power of the mind to overcome or to specialize, or to function at it’s highest (and often well beyond comprehension of us lesser, laden mortals) no matter what handicap or disability due to all of the above, and, or, including trauma is fantastic.
Some cultures previously put those who would be now “labeled” as “slow” on pedestals for their seizures, fits, or seemingly (again: now “labeled”) “erratic” behaviors.
Some of it was also societally adored/instigated: I’m not quite sure what the criteria for the selection of the Oracles at Delphi actually were (was it suggestibility, “seeing things”, hearing “voices”, how pretty, etc..), or whether it was induced by the poisonous volcanic gasses they were forced to inhale and drugged potions….
Joan of Arc comes to mind as well.
By today’s standards: Cross dresser/transvestite, possible lesbian or “gender identity” questions, magical thinking, aural hallucinations, visual hallucinations, tendency to violence….
What would now be “labeled” as Schizotypal Personality Disorder and possibly forcibly medicated or “locked up” by what have been historically religious “mental” institutions.
Then again, she was burned for wearing pants, using weapons, and heresy.

Blue eyes, factually, have the same pigments as dark eyes, but these pigments, either black or brown eumelanin, are confined to the back of the iris. Depending on the structure of the iris itself, the light that enters it then either undergoes Rayleigh scattering, which selectively reflects blue and sometimes indigo and violet rays, or Mie scattering, which is not selective and produces various shades of gray. Light-eyed Americans and central Europeans usually show a mix of both, sometimes with a bit of brown eumelanin or phaeomelanin in the mid layers of the iris, adding a greenish cast. This mix, technically a “merle” (pronounced “marl”) eye, is often miscalled hazel, but it’s not. True hazel, also a mix, contains enough brown eumelanin or phaeomelanin near the front of the eye to produce a tawny sort of tweed, and it is also common among Americans, including those not actually white. Our eyes, you see, are mixed, because we are. You don’t like it? Too late.

CoralSea, the American obsession with comestic dentistry is such that the many people who comment on what a beautiful smile i have immediately ask if i have ever had braces. They always seem a bit disappointed when i tell them that i have never had braces and my teeth are naturally straight which indicates that no doubt the next question would have been where did you get them. Erika — You will have to excuse my venture into Mensa — I was but a stupid young thing at the time. And it didn’t take me very long to realize that some of the members were, ah, ah, lacking in regard to interpersonal skills is probably the best way to put it.

Still, I quite enjoyed the Witchcraft/Paganism special interest group, which allowed people who weren’t Mensa members to belong as well. (I never asked at the time — but I rather believe that one of the reasons why they did this was because the members of the group JOINED when they were in Mensa, but then didn’t really want to stay in Mensa, but did like the Witchcraft/Pagan SIG. I also continued with that group for well over a decade after I let my Mensa membership lapse.

Still, I do know some cool people who belonged, and I met them through Mensa, so I don’t want to bash the organization. Not everyone is a male convenience store clerk who believes that his sperm should be used to impregnate supermodels.

Of course, when you resign, they repossess your IQ, but since I took so many tests, I still had plenty. (That was a joke.)

As for teeth–it is my understanding that prenatal vitamins and nutrition have something to do with the proper “arch” of the upper and lower jaw that influences tooth alignment (I read that somewhere, but it was long ago, so it may be wrong). I personally don’t care for the Laser white, Chicklet teeth that some people have (bright white, like a well-scrubbed toilet). My teeth are great on top (except for “the Cumberland Gap” — the first molar on the left side, which I had removed because it was all icky and simply haven’t had “bridged” or implanted, because with the way I smile, you don’t really see it.) On the bottom, I have a hint of a snaggle up front, but I don’t care — it’s just the way I am.

Yes — it is weird how some people think everything has to be perfect. Although perfection is a useful guide, it is often simply a waste of time and gets in the way of actually getting anything done or living your life.

I think Jason/Annie/Ezra is the same person, and he’s less than age 20…his writing style never changes, and he’s indecisive, shrill, and whiny. I get the sense that he’s genuinely astonished and upset that people smarter than him are so effectively smacking down the bill of goods he bought from his neo-Nazi gurus. He bought into that stuff because it enabled him to figure out, in his own head, why he’s such a failure in the world. It’s not because he’s dumber than a bag of hammers, it’s because of the “Communists.” Never mind that Stalin has been discredited even among Communists since 1956 and that the only places that support Communism are Cuba, North Korea, and the History Department at City College.

Overall, your argument is somewhat puzzling. What you were responding to was Mitch’s statement that “there is no scientific consensus on what race is or who belongs to what racial group.” But you’re responding as if he’d said there IS a scientific consensus about those things. This isn’t too surprising, because attacking the notion of scientific consensus is a favorite tactic for pseudoscientists and their supporters; it’s almost the default first move. And yes, Galileo is a favorite example of the bold thinker persecuted by the narrow-minded guardians of dogmatic belief, no matter how inappropriate a comparison it may be – for example, the idea that J.P. Rushton is in any way comparable with Galileo is, to borrow your phrase, “absolutely laughable.”

Having said all that, I do not dispute the idea that a consensus is not proof; to say it is would be to advance an argumentum ad verecundiam, a classic logical fallacy. However, in the modern era, in which science is largely a matter of methodology, there certainly is a consensus, and a necessary one, about what constitutes valid methodology. And as I noted repeatedly in my earlier comments, with a link to the details, Rushton’s methodology was deeply flawed, to the point (in my opinion) of being deliberate falsification.

More generally, real scientists do challenge the consensus – an example that springs to mind is the recent proliferation of theories questioning the Big Bang – but they do so with the understanding that the integrity of their research and reasoning must be flawless. Contrast this sort of thing with, say, the writings of Graham Hancock or Zechariah Sitchin. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof.

Re Lamarck and scientific integrity in general: Arthur Koestler wrote an interesting book, The Case of the Midwife Toad, about Austrian biologist Paul Kammerer, who committed suicide after some other biologists accused him of faking some experiments in an attempt to find evidence supporting lamarckianism. Koestler’s theory is that Nazis at Kammerer’s university messed with his stuff (to use the technical term) because they preferred Lamarck to Darwin – no apes in the family tree.

I’m interested in reasoned and respectful debate on this issue. I’ve tried to look at this issue without prejudice, and I’ve found strong arguments on the hereditarian side as well as strong reputtals on the anti-hereditarian side. A model inquirer is Ron Unz, publisher of the American Conservative, who has looked at Rushton and Richard Lynn’s research respectfully and closely, and mostly ended up disagreeing with their conclusions.

I have nothing but contempt for the self-righteous, stone-throwing dim-bulbs who think that ridicule is sufficient response to people like Rushton and to his defenders here like Ezra.

What I would say to people who are persuaded by Rushton is this… Showing that blacks on AVERAGE are lower in intelligence than whites, and that nature rather than nurture is a significant determinant of intelligence, should not be used to determine public policy or civil rights for CITIZENS of a multi-racial democracy like the US. Citizens need to be treated like individuals, not like members of a group with certain average traits. There are in fact millions of black Americans on the “right” side of the black intelligence bell curve, who have higher intelligence than perhaps 1/2 of the white people in the United States who are on the “left” side of the white intelligence bell curve. That means 4 or so million black Americans are more intelligent than 100 million white Americans. It is immoral and irrational to treat those 4 million individuals differently from whites based on the fact that they are “outliers” of a group that they happen to belong to.

Linking to an opinion piece by Gottfredson really doesn’t help your case. As one of the leaders of the pro-testing community and author of the widely criticized “Mainstream Science on Intelligence” manifesto, naturally she can be relied on to advocate for the position that “intelligence” is meaningfully definable and measurable. But it’s the nature of the beast that the arguments are fundamentally circular.

If you really don’t understand what “construct” means in the context in which I used it, you really aren’t ready to talk seriously about social science. Surely you’ve at least heard of “deconstruction”?

So to deconstruct the notion of “intelligence”: Essentially, a test designer chooses a set of skills, abilities, talents, etc., and designates the combination as “intelligence.” Usually, the particular combination is chosen because the test designer considers them valuable or useful – and those terms are, in turn, defined in terms of value or utility in achieving “success” in the way the designer happens to define that term.

As is easy to see, if a native of Omaha and an African bushman were asked to design tests of intelligence, the two tests would be very different, and the Nebraskan probably would not score very high on the bushman’s test, or vice versa.

All of this is obvious, really, but because of the huge pile of money available from an educratic establishment that seems incapable of thinking outside the “standardization” box, there’s a major incentive to pretend otherwise.

On the unrelated topic of personalities and debating styles, I’m compelled to point out that your screen name is an example of plurium interrogationum, the fallacy of many questions, also known as the “loaded question.” I’m also compelled to point out that clearly the SPLC doesn’t consider the topic we’re discussing “verboten,” as it is in fact providing the forum where we are discussing it.
