The irony is that if law abiding gun owners would actually embrace registration of their firearms the trade in stolen firearms would virtually disappear overnight – because of the lack of registration, stolen firearms are extraordinarily easy for criminals to move – and criminals often look to steal whatever is easiest to move for money or drugs. Stolen firearms are almost impossible to trace due to the lack of registration.
