Karen, you’re quite right…as soon as one group of neo-Fascist yahoos falls into the dustbin of history, a new one replaces it.

Back in the 1930s, we had to put up with the Coughlinites, William Dudley Pelley’s Silver Shirts, Fritz Kuhn’s German-American Bund, and Elizabeth Dilling’s paranoia. In the 1960s we had the John Birch Society, the Klan, and George Lincoln Rockwell and his neo-Nazis. In the 1980s, it was Posse Comitatus and the Aryan Nations. Now we have secessionists, the Tea Party, the “Oath Keepers,” and so on. It’ll be interesting to see who’s next.

However, they never offer anything new…just the same recycled staples. All you get at this time of year is re-runs, anyway…

Certainly encouraging to see this organization dwindle into obscurity–unfortunately, there is always another waiting in the wings. This moning I happened upon the 700 Club where SPLC was being misrepresented and maligned. The “general” of the ACLJ was trying to say that SPLC was a hate group because they had grouped the ACLJ and other factions like them in their US map of hate groups. This guy and Pat Robertson were ridiculous in their poor assertions, but their ignorance shouldn’t be ignored or unaddressed. My reason for sayiing this is my memory of a little stupid film called the Silent
Scream which was widely broadcast on the Christian channels about thirty five years ago. It was a film of an ultrasound taken during an early term abortion which led viewers to believe that a shadow on the ultrasound was actually the fetus screaming(silently). A “doctor” then appeared to “educate” by showing a babydoll and stating that this was what a twelve week old fetus looked like.
Planned Parenthood and other women’s rights groups chose to ignore this film, assuming that it would die of its own ridiculousness. The movie had the opposite effect, spearheading the whole insane anti abortion furor, and the idiocy of it was overlooked, and drove many to react with misguided emotion, etc. This group, American
Center for Law and Justice, certainly deserves to go the way of the National Alliance, but I’m afraid it is gaining moronic momentum. The 700 Club remains a strong media outlet for these freak groups, as it preys on probably well meaning but not too well informed Christians and their pocketbooks. Please don’t let this slip through the cracks by assuming that ignorance will not spread.

The website http://www.erichgliebe.com talks about Erich Gliebe selling guns that belonged to the late William Pierce. A investigation into these gun sales should be investigated by the ATF. Let’s hope that no one is hurt by one of these weapons.

When I despair that things are getting worse, reading a story like this — the collapse of a once-powerful and virulent neo-Nazi association, I feel better.

At some levels, these people must be aware that they have wasted their lives on this nonsense, and not achieved anything beyond fattening the pockets and ego of the alleged leaders of this organization…Mr. Pierce made a good buck from this, and that is all…he died hated and unmourned.

Sort of like his hero.
