2nd Company Begins Selling Bullets Coated with Pork to Fight Muslims

Posted By Ryan Lenz On June 26, 2013 @ 12:11 pm In Anti-Muslim,Extremist Propaganda | 26 Comments

The advertising pitch says it all: “Put some Ham in MoHAMed.”

Jihawg Ammunition, based in Dalton Gardens, Idaho, has recently begun selling bullets laced with a pork coating, promising “patriot” gun owners that the bullets “will strike fear into the hearts of those bent upon hate, violence and murder.”

Consumption of pork is forbidden in Islam. The idea behind the bullets is that a Muslim hit by them would be desecrated and unable to go to heaven.

This isn’t the first time Hatewatch has heard claims of pork-coated bullets from Muslim-bashing profiteers. In May 2011, we reported on a company called Silver Bullet Gun Oil [1], which said it had produced for sale a gun oil laced with pork fat. In that case, the creator openly affirmed the offensiveness of his product. “It is designed as an affront to an entire belief structure,” the business owner told Hatewatch at the time.

A request to Jihawg Ammunition for comment today was not immediately answered.

There have been reports of people burying a pig on proposed Mosque sites as well.

#2 Comment By Ruslan Amirkhanov On June 26, 2013 @ 1:16 pm

I take it nobody told them that:

1. Coming into contact with pork or anything not halal as a result of actions outside of your control has no bearing on going to paradise.

2. The mission of the US army in Afghanistan is to prop up a government of Muslims, and it relies on an army and police force made up of Muslims.

3. The US, since 2011, has decided that supporting Islamist terrorists is a great idea to try again.

Doesn’t this exactly recall a major factor behind the Sepoy Rebellion in India, vintage 1857-58 (as in claims that the ammunition cartridges for the New Pattern Enfield rifles of 1853 as were issued to Indian troops had been willfully greased with beef tallow and lard, deemed offensive to, respectively, Hindus and Muslims)?

Bullets that turn rancid! What a brilliant idea.

Idiots.

i have to admit that my sense of humor is twisted enough that when i first heard about this i had to laugh about it because Jihawg Ammunition sounds like something out of The Onion or Mad Magazine.

of course, i then realized it was actually real but in some ways that makes it even funnier because there are apparently actually idiots stupid enough to buy these things [i'm sure the fact that i find such extreme stupidity hilarious makes me a bad girl]. i get the feeling that Jihawg Ammunition is laughing all of the way to the bank at the expense of their customers.

Seriously, how stupid are these people???

These comments are an almost-exact copy of the last go around.

Which, if I’m not mistaken, was my first commented post!

I note we went through the whole Sepoy Rebellion thing a couple of years back.

The loading procedures at that time required a soldier to literally bite the bullet when he reloaded, so the objection was not to touching this mixture of suet and lard, but to putting it in one’s mouth, which could be construed as a voluntary act of ingestion. Getting shot with any kind of projectile isn’t that. The concerns are purely medical, not religious, any more than, say, an Eastern Orthodox soldier shot by a cheese bullet during Lent would have broken his fast.

Erika, maybe the bullets will smell so appetizing that one of these rocket scientists will put a few on the grill.
Ruslan, Point # 3 has piqued my curiosity. Are you referring to our use of drones, which seems to recruit people faster than even we can kill them, or our support of the extremely diverse Rebel forces in Syria, or something else?

#9 Comment By Ruslan Amirkhanov On June 27, 2013 @ 2:04 pm

Sam, I’m referring to the support of the mujahadeen in Afghanistan, the terrorists in Libya, and those in Syria. Claiming they are “diverse” means nothing. It’s clear that these are almost entirely Sunni Islamists to varying degrees.

I live in Europe and when I first read this I actually laughed (my apologies for being politically insensitive). Why would someone actually go out of their way and invent this, and then buy it?…..it really requires some form of bizarre, archaic, and medieval thinking to dream this up, and think that it will have some desirable effect. Think about it, especially for someone form the most sophisticated country in the world?

#11 Comment By Reynardine On June 27, 2013 @ 6:36 pm

In general, I have been able to observe, sometimes from quite close at hand, that Sunnis are no more inherently violent than Shias or any other large group. On the other hand, fanatics are invariably more violent than non-fanatics, and long-lasting conflicts invite in conflicts the way long-open wounds invite in screwworms.

They obviously didn’t do their research. Square bullets are traditional for use against Muslims. [2]

#13 Comment By Underwriter On June 27, 2013 @ 7:10 pm

Actually, with the unexplained foaming of hog feces which has recently come to light, these bullets strike terror into MY heart, and I am neither Muslim, Jewish, vegan, or anything else that eschews pork for religious/moral reasons.

#14 Comment By Michael Parker On June 27, 2013 @ 11:08 pm

If anyone is bent on hate, violence and murder, it’s the American gun nuts that think their 2nd amendment rights are being taken away, not all Muslims are evil. These gun nuts are mentally sick and don’t realize it. Oh, I too, am a gun owner, but I don’t go around with a golden halo on my head thinking I’m pure and better than anyone else.

#15 Comment By Sam Molloy On June 28, 2013 @ 12:00 am

Thanks, Ruslan. Our news is often loaded with things like sports figure murder cases and is sometimes light on the issues behind huge events.

#16 Comment By Erika On June 28, 2013 @ 5:44 am

Sam, since anyone who buys these bullets is foolish enough to think that the Islamic boogeyman is after them its a real possibility.

and when they did it they likely would be wearing one of the JiHawg Ammunition logo and motto t-shirts which are soooo hilariously inappropriate that when i first saw the report i was sure it was satire [and to be perfectly honest, i'm still not sure if this entire thing isn't actually satire] because nobody who is scared of the Moslem boogeyman would actually wear something soooo offensively inappropriate (at least when you ignore that the odds of any Moslem Jihadists actually showing up in a place like Bucksnort, Tennessee are pretty low.)

#17 Comment By Erika On June 28, 2013 @ 8:48 am

Glenn, its perfectly okay to laugh at things that are funny – i mean ,a satirist couldn’t come up with something this over the top riduculous.

there is a saying that history first occurs as tragedy and then repeats itself as farce and JiHawg Ammunition seems to indicate that we are absolutely in the farce stage of history.

I think that it is safe to say that there is a common denominator here, which is paranoid thinking. Paranoid thinking includes anger, at both specific individuals and large groups, and tends to be irrational such that paranoid individuals are highly unlikely to modify their beliefs when confronted with evidence that disproves their beliefs. In fact, when confronted with evidence that would invalidate their beliefs, there is a marked tendency to embrace their irrational beliefs more strongly. The only hope regarding such potentially people is that they don’t act out and/or attain positions of influence or power. If you’re thinking that some of them already have: well, Eden this ain’t ….

If there is anything some groups can do to make its members hate each other more intensely, they will do it. If there is anything a company can do to foment that hatred/fear that they may profit from that they will do.

Behind hatred is fear and ignorance, but there is also bottomless greed. And, sadly, there is never a shortage of fools to take the bait.

Michael Parker, you sound like a responsible gun owner, and as such should join the NRA and try to change their attitude, not revile everyone in it from the sidelines.

#21 Comment By Stephen On June 29, 2013 @ 9:18 am

Insanity, just plain insanity.

#22 Comment By aadila On July 1, 2013 @ 7:17 am

Did anyone think to look at this from the perspective of the pigs?

#23 Comment By Erika On July 1, 2013 @ 8:21 am

i believe in these (post-post-post?) modern times we live in that it is absolutely impossible to come up with a hoax product as a good prank anymore. in fact, i almost wonder if the JiHawg Bullets and the “Put Some HAM in MoHAMas” t-shirts arose because in some urban bar some hipsters were sitting around ironically drinking Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer at an ironic dive bar or some frat guys came up with drinking Milwaulkee’s Best in a frat house and said “wouldn’t hilarious if someone would . . . .”

. . . and then after a whole lot of laughter one of them said “you know, i think that people would actually buy those and we could make a lot of money off of that idea.”

i mean, seriously, doesn’t this entire thing sound like an idea that some drunk people came up with???

(or the atlernative explanation (othat than this is really just a really awesome prank/hoax, of course) – JiHawg Bullets are secretly being sold by Al Qeada)

#24 Comment By Chris On July 1, 2013 @ 2:01 pm

Sounds like someone confused Muslims and pork with vampires and garlic.

#25 Comment By Reynardine On July 1, 2013 @ 2:09 pm

Do they still make Pabst Blue Ribbon?

#26 Comment By Erika On July 1, 2013 @ 4:40 pm

Rey, yes – a few years ago (’bout the tiem i was in college/law school if i remember right) some ventuer capitalist bought the brand and started marketing it by sponsoring “independent artist” (read “cheap”) concerts/venues.
