Racist Former Student Leader Moves Into Neo-Nazism

By Hatewatch Staff on September 3, 2013 - 5:03 pm, Posted in Anti-Black, Anti-Immigrant, Anti-LGBT, Anti-Muslim, Anti-White, Neo-Nazi

A little over a year ago, Matthew Heimbach was annoying fellow students at Towson University with juvenile stunts like chalking “White Pride” and “White Guilt is Over” on sidewalks of the Maryland campus.

But in the last few months, since graduating at the end of the spring semester, Heimbach has been turning into a full-fledged neo-Nazi. No longer content with softer groups like the White Student Union that he started at Towson, Heimbach now rails about “conniving Jews,” goes on talk shows like that hosted by neo-Nazi David Duke, approvingly quotes terrorist assassin David Lane, wears a pistol when addressing a leading racist group, and calls for violent revolution.

“Revolution is the only answer to our plight,” Heimbach wrote in a post today on the Traditionalist Youth Network (TYN), an umbrella group he formed this spring with Indiana native Matthew Parrot and which now includes the White Student Union. “Our ancestors fought against the scabs, bosses, capitalists and Jews to make a better future for their children. Now we must do the same.”

In the same post, Heimbach said that “the Left has spent generations attempting to ‘help’ the worker by dancing to the tune of the Jewish elites.” Like Christ, he said, “we must … drive out the moneylenders and traitors in our midst.”

In an August post on the same site, Heimbach openly acknowledged a long-time interest in national socialism, fascism and white pride movements. He credited the Stormfront website, run by former Alabama Klan leader Don Black, as “crucial” to his own development as an activist. “[T]he time is right, and Trad Youth is here to be the vanguard of the youth movement for our folk. … While victory is a long way away and will be paved with blood, sweat, tears, and martyrs, we truly now have a chance to not only restore our race and our Tradition, but to become triumphant.”

Last week, Heimbach also wrote that “we are looking to totally overturn this system. Traditionalists are willing to die for our Cause and our people.” He went on: “The total destruction of Western Christian civilization should be something to galvanize the masses against the pilfering capitalists, conniving Jews, and Third Worlders who want to swamp our nations. The people should be marching in the streets with torches and guns and a militant spirit, but … they aren’t.” Still, “Revolution and revival is coming comrades, we just have to keep up the pressure.”

Also last week, Heimbach went on the radio show hosted by David Duke, a former Klan leader and long-time neo-Nazi. Posting on Stormfront as “MarylandFalangist” (a Phalangist is a fascist), Heimbach described his appearance as “a huge honor” and said it focused, in part, on “the role of Jews in academia.”

Heimbach announced in May that his White Student Union, a reincarnation of another racist campus group led by him, would be merging with the TYN. After he graduated, he became executive director of the larger organization.

A month later, in June, Heimbach spoke to the Council of Conservative Citizens — a hate group that has referred to black people as a “retrograde species of humanity” — with a pistol strapped to his hip. He called for secession and quoted David Lane, who died in prison while serving a 190-year sentence for the assassination of Alan Berg, a Jewish talk show host who had criticized racist groups, in 1984. He cited Lane’s 14 Words, which have become a white supremacist catchphrase: “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for White children.”

Matt Parrott of the TYN has also been sounding more radical since taking up with Heimbach. Last week, Parrot wrote about TYN’s protest of a Bloomington, Ind., bookstore thought to be a “storied hub of Marxist agitation,” saying the shop “actively promotes terrorist violence.” To make the point more clearly, TYN carried picket signs to the store depicting the image of a hanging lynching victim. Parrott, an Indiana resident and former head of a Council of Conservative Citizens chapter, said in his post that “TradYouth is what the radical right has been waiting for, a complete synthesis of authentic street-fighting courage and Radical Traditionalist principles.” In a post about 10 days earlier, he said, “No more sitting back and watching America fall apart. There is a storm coming!”

As Heimbach and Parrott head further and further to the right, it may be that the only thing remaining to be seen is if they truly adopt “street fighting” and, like their Nazi mentors, storm into the street in order to physically attack their enemies.

    “Yeah, I meant MDCLXVI.”

Kiwi, I’ll give you a dollar if you can actually pronounce that word.

Kasie, “Aryan”, properly used, applies to a native speaker of one or more Indo-Iranian languages. As my first was a native speaker of Memni and my second, of Urdu, I have been married to two Aryans. On the other hand, my mostly German-American father (+ Czech and Lemborgs) was not an Aryan. I am not an Aryan, either, and I bet neither are you.

  • Kasie Dalrymple

Kiwiwriter: “So many of these neo-Nazis look like the runts of the Aryan litter, don’t they?”

“Aryan” doesn’t mean “blonde hair and blue eyes.” It refers to the ancestral connection Whites have with the Indo-European tribes, so whether a European or White originates from Italian ethnic origin, Slovakian, Spanish, or Anglo-Saxon, that person qualifies as an Aryan.

I don’t know what you mean by “mainstream conservative Christianity”. Chick is not conservative anymore than the Nazis were conservative; Chick’s views (on eschatology and pretty much everything else) are far removed from what historic Christianity (I. e., almost everything prior to the year 1500 or so) taught. Even Luther and Calvin were far closer to Roman Catholicism in their views than they are to Chick or anyone like him. Catholics, Orthodox, Lutherans, Copts, etc., have very “conservative” segments within those groups (in the sense of closely adhering to traditional doctrine), yet you don’t see them obsessing about Israel and the “end times”, because those beliefs are NOT part of traditional Christianity.

If you want to know where all the obsession with Israel among the John Hagee crowd comes from, look up the Plymouth Brethren and John Nelson Darby. If he were alive today he would be called a cult leader (and rightfully so) and his views on pretty much everything were completely bizarre. Yet somehow, Darby’s views on the “end times” have become quite popular thanks to the Left Behind books and several televangelists. Fortunately, most younger people aren’t buying in to the hype (among young Christians, the new thing now is “YRR” or neo-Calvinism, while Eastern Orthodoxy is also winning quite a few converts. Old-school American fundagelicalism of the Jack Chick/Jack Hyles variety is fast becoming a dying breed).

Uhm, Kiwiwriter, that’s just a quirk of how the Roman Numeral system works (and you forgot the numeral L). You wrote out 616, which funnily enough is also debated to be the Number of the Beast. It comes from Revelations.”

    Yeah, I meant MDCLXVI.

And yes, it is just a quirk of how Roman numerals works. My point was that the number, being the order of Roman numerals, was tailor-made for anti-Roman propaganda.

I expect that people protesting Roman occupation of Gaul, Palestine, and so on, would scrawl on walls: “MDCLXVI is the beast,” and that’s where it came from. The graffiti wound up in the Bible.

So many of these neo-Nazis look like the runts of the Aryan litter, don’t they?

Funny, Erika, with you being partial to peach velour, I had pictured you sandy-haired.

looking at his picture, i tthink its pretty easy to tell what the root of his blatant inferiority complex is – Its as if he thinks that running around waving his gun around and being Nazi which are like the most transparent “power” moves of the most impotent white men will attract him his own Eva Braun despite looking like a total dork. Of course, i have little doubt that he also is a fan of male supremacy with the goal of making it impossible for the perfect blue eyed blonde Aryan princess that he selects as the ideal mother for his Aryan warrior children to refuse him.

Just thinking about it makes me glad i’m a brunette :)

but in all seriousness he actually might be the one person who might actually look less dorky if he decided to go grow a Hitler mustache and always run around wearing brown shirts. Of course, people might think that he’s on the way to participate in a war role playing game tournament and simplytaking his role as a Nazi too seriously (or starring in his high school production of Springtime for Hitler as the worst Hitler ever). But for an insecure attention starved guy who otherwise would just be another loser, going the full Nazi is sure to get him attention. But more likely he probably really is so delusional to think that by going the full Nazi he will find his own Eva Braun.

An updated one, printed on Loonwatch, goes:

Spencer has got some big brass…
Wilders’ are meat, but they are small
Anders Behring has one ball bearing
And Geller’s not a feller at all.

  • Tobias A. Weissman

I love the way this sicko of a human being quoits Jesus as he threw over the money changes I the temple. Like those sicko’s of that time, Mr. heimbach is using that that quite, which by the way is all wrong. Jesus preached LOVE, not HATE which this guy does. Jesus wished to show that the Temple’s of his time were used to teach man,s innate image and likeness to a good God, a compassionate loving God toward his creation and not to use the temple for money making schemes.

  • Reynardine

    Techfan:

…Himmler has two, but they are small
    Göring has one ball bearing
    And Göbbels has no…

(The actual historic words to the tune from “The Bridge on the River Kwai)
(Peace, Hays Office: this is a weighty historical discourse)

    @ Techfan

Rommel has two but they are small….

Boy, I didn’t think anyone remembered that one!

  • MRJ

But then, again, organized Union labor in the area I am in has some of the most virulent anti-Semitic, racist, misogynistic, and offensively violent “men” in the area involved: all good Union principals blathered about in their sales pitches while their Union still denies women or minorities a place in the work force.

    @ concernedcitizen

FYI: the NCVC (National Center for Victims of Crime) now lists Group Stalking as a crime.
Probably due to a Washington State court ruling about proxy stalking.

“Our ancestors fought against the scabs, bosses, capitalists and Jews to make a better future for their children. Now we must do the same.”

You know, here’s an interesting thing, and please correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t this statement alone make most of his arguments worthless?
From my understanding of some of these terms “scabs, bosses, capitalists…”, they come from the labor struggles and were the dreaded “Commie influence” of the Unions or union organizers during that time frame.

You have to wonder where these guys get their talking points if they spout Union (read that as: Commie Red scare) propaganda as a “defense” for their Fascism: or the collective intelligence of those who jump on the bandwagon as American labor Unions have been under serious, serious attack since Ronald.

By his statement, it would seem that he is pro-Union: I wonder how that sits with his buddies who all think of Union as Godless Communists?

  • Techfan

Hitler, has only got one ….

  • Scott S

I recently told someone the other day that Heimbach was a hard core racist and was going to get himself or others jailed and or killed. His violent overtones point in that direction. I don’t see him doing anything except becoming more violent prone .. we have already see that from him.

  • Sam Molloy

    I only read Chic tracts.

  • Reynardine

I look at this guy and I am reminded of the (very underground) joke circulating during the Third Reich:

“The ideal Aryan is blond like Hitler, shapely like Himmler, tall like Göbbels, slim like Göring, and clear-thinking like Rudolf Hess.”

  • Ruslan Amirkhanov

I believe in Hebrew characters(which can have a numeric value), 666 comes out to a rendition of Nero Kesar, the Greek name of emperor Nero.

  • Erika

Sam, there are way too many Conservative Christian groups to really be able to generalize about what they believe – but when you are talking about the truly conservative groups and not just more conservative elements within mainstream Christianity they all tend to believe that anyone who doesn’t agree with them (especially other Christians) will be cast into the Lake of Fire to burn for all eternity.

If a church is distrubing Chick Tracts, it is probably a pretty good sign that they belong to the “unless you follow our beliefs you will burn in The Lake of Fire for all eternity” school of thought :)

  • Sam Molloy

Dan, try John Hagee. In between his homophobic rants, he has some interesting End Times predictions. Like everybody, he can be right about some things and wrong about other things.

  • Georgia Citizen

Doesn’t anybody konow that Jesus Christ was a Jewsih carpenter and our lord and savior. This kid Heinbach needs some serious help before it’s too late.

Uhm, Kiwiwriter, that’s just a quirk of how the Roman Numeral system works (and you forgot the numeral L). You wrote out 616, which funnily enough is also debated to be the Number of the Beast. It comes from Revelations.

“as I understand mainstream Conservative Christianity, the Jews have their own deal with God no matter what they do.”

That may be the view of liberal professional theologians (i.e. cryptoatheists).

But I have yet to meet a grassroots, church-going, bible-quoting christian who doesn’t think jews are going to hell. The actual text of the new testament is very clear about this. There’s not a lot of wiggle-room.

  • Sam Molloy

Dan, as I understand mainstream Conservative Christianity, the Jews have their own deal with God no matter what they do. It is the rest of us that need Jesus to get to Heaven. I am sure you can find any other belief if you look for it, but this is majority consensus.

Yes, I agree with that. I didn’t want to complicate my message. I think AIPAC and allies are playing with fire, courting the support of people who very well may be genocidal anti-semites. It’s not PC to say, but the conservative christian circles are filled with people who support Israel because they want to see them all burn in Hell.”

From what I’ve read, the conservative Christians support Israel because they hope that it will lead to that final battle promised in the Book of Revelations, replete with the Beast, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and the return of Jesus.

I’m sorry…all those events have already happened. We all watched the 2004 American League Championship Series and the World Series that followed…the Red Sox came back from a 3-0 deficit against the Yankees to win the playoff and sweep the Cardinals in the World Series.

So that issue is over and done with.

By the way, “666″ as the number of the Beast is probably a potshot at the Roman Empire. Write out all the symbols for Roman numerals in order, and you get the following:

MDCXVI. That adds up to “666.”

    And there you have it.

I knew as soon as I read this guy that he was a neo-Nazi in a fancy suit, and as soon as he either got outed or frustrated, he would drag himself, his group, his followers, and the cashbox back to Herr Hitler and his modern apologists.

Now, we’ve heard from Lon Chaney and some of this other supporters that Mr. Heimbach was NOT a racist, NOT a Nazi, and just an “activist” and “advocate” for white rights, who meant no harm to nobody, and just the “Defense of his people.”

Well, it turns out Mr. Heimbach was indeed just another junior Fascist, and he doesn’t want to “defend the white race,” he wants to overthrow the whole bloody system. His goal is world conquest. Good luck with that, fella.

Okay, Lon…step up to the plate, and give us your best cut-and-paste philosophy on this. Remember, you’re on record as saying that your side will tell lies to get ahead, that you’re obsessed with pushy, black women in supermarkets, and you think Stalin was trying to mate captured German PoWs with apes to create a master race.

I want to hear this one…it should be classic.

  • concernedcitizen

I don’t care how many Bible verses they can quote and how many copies they carry around the beer belching campfire at their militia training grounds…these people who promote race war and hate against innocent Americans are not Christians by any stretch of the imagination.

And just because they cross out scripture and write over it in crayon to endorse and support their hate messages does not make it the word of God.

It just makes it bad graffiti put in the Bible by uncle imbecile while he was drunk one night preaching to the choir of idiots while testing their assault rifles out on innocent small forest creatures before they really let loose in the world to create serious harm.

It’s time that we all started wishing these haters into the cornfield.

(For those of you who don’t know, I take that line from Children of the Corn).

Dan, the pro-Israel wing *is* anti-Semitic . They are only supposed to reclaim Israel for the ril Chrischuns. After that, they’re either supposed to accepts Jeebus or literally go to Hell.

  • Dan Zabetakis

What alarms me is not this guy. I mean, any open fascist doesn’t really get much attention except when people point and laugh.

But most of his rhetoric is now moving into the political mainstream.

If you deleted his anti-semitism, and replaced it with ardent support for Israel, you would have the platform of a typical modern conservative. Aside from the fact that he acknowledges being a Nazi, he could otherwise appeal to the Tea Party wing of our political establishment.

Yes the people who appear to be involved in this sort of thing and philosophy come off as very violent thugs looking for a war, who blame their complete lack of achievement on everything other than their own lack of abilities and poor choices in life.
