Pennsylvania Police Chief Kessler Suspended Indefinitely

Looks like the “libtard”-hating and profanity-loving police chief of Gilberton Borough, Pa., has been suspended indefinitely. According to The Patriot News, the Gilberton City Council voted unanimously to keep Mark Kessler on suspension for “using borough property for non-borough purposes without prior borough permission.” The paper reports that this situation will hold until council members can meet with Kessler’s attorney, Joseph Nahas.

Kessler’s own website says without offering any supporting evidence that “[b]orough officials plan on full termination within the first week of September” and that these circumstances came about “because elites in Washington D.C. demanded his JOB.” Though it is unclear what will happen in the end to Kessler, he does appear to have another business proposition already in the works. His website reports that Kessler is now conducting firearms training for Tactical Response, which is run by James Yeager out of Camden, Tenn.

You may remember Yeager, an antigovernment extremist who went on his own crazed, profanity-laden rant after new gun regulations were considered by Congress and the White House in the wake of the Sandy Hook school shooting late last year. Yeager said on a YouTube video posted early this year that if President Obama used executive orders to ban assault rifles, “I’m going to start killing people.”

For those interested, Kessler’s first training will come on Oct. 5 in McAdoo,Pa. Advertised as “Come shoot with Chief Kessler,” the suspended sheriff will be leading a beginner pistol course for Tactical. All the firearms lover needs is $300, five magazines, eye and ear protection, and a strong holster.

So , does the SPLC have their name on the ” hate list “.

  • Aron

Mike, the reason you aren’t seeing any positive reactions to Kessler is because most of us have more than two brain cells to rub together.

  • aadila

Mike B., maybe the lack of support for Kessler on this forum is due to an aversion to open-minded discussion with libtards.

I certainly think the 2nd Amendment rights crowd (and curiously that seems to be the _only_ civil right of concern for some) should be aware that this kind of behavior and activism tends to backfire politically and discredit the movement.

More to your point, I don’t believe the subject of the article above is any crazier than a lot of people who think perpetually feeding guns into the mayhem is supposed to bring about lasting order.

  • Reynardine

Mike, why would anyone agree with this guy? He has been violating the constitutional rights of denizens of his borough by the display, threat, and use of armed force, something which he himself not only has no right to do, but is expressly prohibited from doing. Save your tears for someone who deserves them.

  • Mike Brown

Not one comment of someone who agrees with this guy. That seems a little weird as he does have a following.

I don’t agree with his behavior but I do feel that constitutional rights are slowly being taken away.

  • Reynardine

In New York City, a borough and a county are the same size, and the city is bigger than both.

  • supersonic250

Yodz, boroughs are smaller than a county. They’re more like one or two towns under the same administrative umbrella. I live in Shrewsbury Borough, in York County, PA.

That said, I wouldn’t trust this guy to protect my LAWN, much less my town!!!

  • Yodz

I think a borough is the equivalent of a county, rather than a city or village. Not positive, but I think it has to do with PA being a Commonwealth rather than a state. Regardless, there may be more than approximately 800 poor souls he’s supposed to protect from people like himself. Still, no matter how many people there are, this dude should not be given the power to give parking tickets, let alone be officially sanctioned to carry a gun.

  • Reynardine

    Michael: Another one, of course!

  • Kiwiwriter

Samuel, thank you for your service to our country in the Armed Forces in two conflicts, and as a federal officer.

I do agree with you that these nuts must be held accountable…I blame the internet for that, because of its anonymity. The internet is the best thing to happen to the schoolyard bully since the invention of lunch money.

  • Wayne

This guy scares me, but his followers scare me more.

  • Samuel

I’m a black Vietnam veteran. I’m also a post-9/11 veteran. I am also a trained federal officer retired. I’m quite sure that if I entered this man’s town I would be in mortal danger of losing my life unless I shot and blow his brains out first. This country is becoming more and more dangerous because no one is holding these nuts accountable. Somebody, somewhere had better do something about these people because it’s getting out of hand.

  • Kiwiwriter

The community is going to review his employment on September 19.

Like all terminations, they’re pulling out the entire file, so they can justify the decision, based on what may be a long history of misbehavior.

Those personnel paper trails will kill you every time…

  • kay

This nut job will have a very popular class with other nut jobs. They’ll flock to his class to show their support for their fellow “patriot in arms” who is obviously being crucified by the big bad government.

I wonder how tough he is without a weapon to back him up?

  • Gaston Glock

This jerk gives a bad name to people with bad names.

  • Michael Parker

Who in the world would want to be trained by this nut ball?

  • Kiwiwriter

Looks like this community is going to fire him, but they want to do it precisely by the book, so he has no cause for a multi-million-dollar unlawful firing suit.

Once he loses his job, he’ll have to turn in some of that weaponry, and it’ll be interesting to see if he continues his career of internet buffoonery and threatening behavior.

  • Mark H.

People like this are why I need a CCW permit.

  • http://splc Jeanne

Maybe, its the air. But people are just going nuts in this country. He might have Cheney as his assistant!!! But, please don’t give Cheney a gun unless it has water in it!

  • Reynardine

Mr. Miller, I guess if you only need one police officer, he can call himself Chief.

  • Aron

Stevens, because you can’t have a police force without a Chief. Even if the is the only peace officer* in the town.

*’Peace officer’ seems to be an horrid misnomer for Kessler for obvious reasons.

  • Stevens Miller

According to Wikipedia, Gilberton’s population is 867. Why do they have a police chief at all?

  • Cicada

Kessler is just another member of the Radical Right, full of hatred and anger.

  • nobody

just a matter of time he’ll be in he news and it won’t be good.

  • Mr. Creazil

So the guy who shot his own finger off and who puts up Youtube videos of himself holding a gun incorrectly while he fires it is giving firearms training?

  • Reynardine

Sorry, it was quail. But not Dan.

  • DrMJG

Sorry, this very much not in DC person of a middle class working background does not want to see him hold onto his job as well. This is very mush the fringe movement Hatewatch needs to keep an eye on.

Whether it is a far right or far left hate group, it is anathema to what the Constitution set in motion.

  • concernedcitizen

This man appears to be bent on taking a road of destruction and throwing his life away.

I wonder if he’s married or has children, what did they have to say about him throwing his JOB down the drain?

  • concernedcitizen

Yes I agree with you Reynardine, I believe there are many who would soon go duck hunting with Dick Cheney, even if they were required to dress up like ducks.

I don’t think he would be aiming for them dressed as ducks. :)

  • Gregory

I guess his employer took away his guns, rather than the libtards. What is this guy’s emotional age, 13?

  • Reynardine

I’d as soon go duck hunting with Dick Cheney.
