The Southern Poverty Law Center’s Civil Rights Memorial Center is seeking an entry level, part-time clerk to greet visitors and handle transactions in its gift shop. This is a 14-hour per week position and that requires the selected candidate to work on Fridays and Saturdays.
JOB SUMMARY:
Greets visitors and handles retail transactions in a gift shop.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Greets and assists visitors in finding particular items if requested.
- Operates cash register, makes change, and processes credit card transactions.
- Processes merchandise returns in accordance with established procedures
- Assists guests, as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- Helpful, friendly manner in dealing with visitors
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of cash register operations and credit card transactions a plus.
