The Civil Rights Memorial Center is pleased to welcome back visitors after temporarily closing due to COVID-19. We have new COVID-19 safety precautions in place and ask that each visitor adhere to those policies. We have taken steps to minimize the risk of exposure to COVID-19 by requiring face masks and temperature checks for all visitors before entry.

Visitor Policies and Public Safety Guidelines

  • Face coverings required.
  • Bags must be smaller than 9 ½ inches by 8 ½ inches to be carried into the Civil Rights Memorial Center. Large bags are not allowed in the CRMC. Please leave unnecessary items in your vehicle.
  • Cameras are welcome. However, no videography is allowed in any of the galleries.
  • Cellphones must be turned off or on silent mode while inside.
  • Food, drinks and chewing gum are not allowed in the Center.

Hours & Admission 

Monday-Saturday: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The last admittance will be 4:15 p.m.

Adult admission: $5; Children (8-18): $2.

The museum is closed on all major holidays.

The Memorial is accessible 24 hours a day.

Parking

The Civil Rights Memorial Center is located at 400 Washington Avenue in downtown Montgomery, Alabama, across the street from the Southern Poverty Law Center office building and a block away from Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church. There is on-the-street metered parking is available weekdays, 8:00am-5:00pm. Weekends, holidays and evenings, meters are not monitored, and parking tickets are not issued. Bus parking is located on the corner of Washington and Decatur streets as well as Dexter and Decatur close to the Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church.
