User Interface Designer/Developer
The Southern Poverty Law Center, a leading civil rights organization located in Montgomery, Alabama, is seeking a user interface designer/developer. This position will design and develop interfaces for SPLC web projects in close collaboration with backend developers. The ability to take written and verbal direction is essential. The ideal candidate has proven experience designing standards-based websites and is comfortable in a fast-paced, team environment.
We are looking for a talented designer capable of turning ideas into concepts, and concepts into usable, accessible interfaces using CSS.
Requirements
- Expert-level XHTML and CSS layout skills
- Understanding of web usability
- Deadline oriented
- At least one year of UI design in a professional environment
Pluses:
- Drupal theming experience
- Working knowledge of javascript
- Appreciation of open source solutions
- Flash
- Audio and video editing
