Celebrate the March on Washington: What do you march for?

The Southern Poverty Law Center is excited to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the historic March on Washington – an important opportunity to honor those who fought for equality and to re-commit ourselves to the continuing march for justice.

We want to know: What do you march for?

To tell us what you march for:

1) Print out this small sign or make your own.

2) Write what you march for.

3) Take a photo of yourself holding your sign and send it to imarchfor@splcenter.org. Or send us a short video. We're creating a photo album of our supporters and staff for the SPLC Facebook page.

4) Join the community! Share with your friends using #imarchfor on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram.

We will be in Washington, D.C., for the 50th anniversary and look forward to spending time with the community of advocates advancing human rights around the world. The Civil Rights Memorial Center will host a booth at the Global Freedom Festival in West Potomac Park (near the MLK Memorial) from Noon until 7 pm Friday, Aug. 23; 3 pm until 7 pm Saturday, Aug. 24; and Noon until 7 pm Sunday, Aug. 25. Please stop by to share your stories, experiences and ideas about the historic 1963 event and how you are personally working for justice today.
