Meredith Cabell

Director of Community Advocacy

Meredith Cabell is the Co-Director of Community Advocacy at the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Immigrant Justice Project (IJP).  Since joining the SPLC in 2007, Meredith has worked on numerous cases, legal initiatives and campaigns to combat workplace exploitation and other human rights abuses of immigrant and low-wage workers in the South.  Over the last few years she has focused on the legal, legislative and organizing battles against anti-immigrant laws across the Deep South, particularly in Alabama.  Meredith is a native of Owensboro, Kentucky but has lived on both coasts including six years in Mexico and the US-Mexico border region.  Meredith received her Master’s in Latin American Studies and International Migration from the University of California, San Diego.
